wet carbon has more resin, which will typically make it heavier, more brittle, but because it is make from pre-inpregnated carbon fiber, the produciton cost is less. Dry carbon is vacuumed then resin is allowed to impregnate the carbon, so you have less resin in the final product, at the expense of more materials and procedures to produce the part. Pay 500 for a part, vs 1000 for one made better...both get the job done

the tests done on these 2 intakes were pointless. do you really care that your intake weighs .4kg more. and who the is going to smash an intake while its in the engine bay
This test is irrelevant. What are the ply schedule for both intakes? Is it all carbon or is it 1 ply of carbon and the rest fiberglass? Banging a part on a counter is not really a scientific test...
What is 400 grams on a car that weights 1500+ Kgs.
What kind of resin did you use?
polyester resin is not stronger than epoxy resin. before you start working with carbon fiber. just first lubericate and then wait an hour. then laminate in the mold and remove air with vacuum and put in the oven 100 degrees for 1 hour. same as effecht as dry carbonfiber.
well resin infusion generally produces better surface finishes. pre preg is lighter and less resin content that's why it didnt' crack. more resin more likely to crack.
epoxy resin vs polyester resin, problem solved, looks like you might have autoclave in the background too , might make a differance, but is a air breather, so that wouldnt change my mind , i have seen your products before, very nice, keep up the awesome work, nice video, blessings

No doubt the dry carbon is better but the dry carbon did crack, look at 1:29 on the outside and then again on 2:06 on the inside.

@HitMan1263 It's 5 times stronger. It's not the carbon fiber that fails when you smash it against something, but the resin.

wow... a weight savings of 400 grams to kept your hondas wheels spinning due to the insane amount of bottom end torque this intake adds...
seriously, we can see the crack, not to mention you didn't slam your intake as hard as the other one, also you didn't show the side of the intake you slammed it on, you instead tried to show the top portion. and how often do you expect these intakes to be slammed onto tool boxes?

As an m.e with a minor in composites i have a question. what is dry carbon? because unless you have a proprietary process that you choose to call "dry carbon" its going to be just raw carbon fiber. once any resin is added to carbon (that's what makes it rigid) the cloth goes from being "dry" to "wet" jw

That is a pretty bogus demonstration. We must assume, since you failed to clarify, that by "dry" you are reffering to pre-preg material, and by "wet" you are reffering to a standard layup. Without knowing how many layers of cloth was used in each part, the mannor in which the competitors part was laminated (basic mold/vacuum bagged/compression molded) and the thermoset resin used (epoxy/vinyl ester/polyester) an apples to apples comparison cannot be made. A dissapointing way to fool customers

Test 1: test how hard the intake can take the impact compared to other competitors.Test 2: check the airflow of a reinforcing tower strut in the engine bay made of CF or aluminum..ermmm. That's right! That is how stupid this test sounds! Show me power gains, difference in the intake temperature compared to the competitors not how hard is standing the fucking "bang against the table" test because the majority of us dont do that with their intake.
