The Cinemassacre Truthers might be trolls but they're not haters. Haters would want him to fail instead of hoping one day he will turn the ship around. But yeah, even the non truthers in the comments seemed put off by the recent episode. You just know that James had no idea this game even existed until he read about it in the script for the video. Also, he either needs to shave his head or have his MK hat become a permanent fixture
Unfortunately the vitriol and relentless cynicism coming from the Truthers has taken a life of its own, so much so that any valid, reasonable criticism you could throw at James and Cinemassacre falls by the wayside. And while I would agree with the consensus that James's newer content has been mostly lacking, and I will even admit some of the Truthers' trolling can funny at times, most of this griping seems like unproductive whining. James has been doing this for 20 years, has covered pretty much every way a game can be bad, and he obviously isn't in the same place he was when he started. People change. Should James retire...? I don't know, and I do hope he manages to reignite his creativity for more engaging content. But even if he doesn't return to form he's already offered a near endless supply of mostly re-watchable comfort food that I always enjoy revisiting. So I can't get too upset with him even though much of his recent efforts are forgettable. And why are we so hung up on his hairline? A truly petty thing to make fun of him over.
@PumpkinHead-jt3vx That's fine, but to rephrase my original point, why does his hairline even matter? Most people will encounter this as they get older. Not sure why this sort of thing is even a sticking point. His hairline has never played an integral part of his AVGN character or any of the other videos he makes. Sure his receding hairline has been noticeable, but don't you think it's a bit shallow to have to "ignore" it?
