Idk how a front office works but it seems like there is a weird power balance. The owner has the final say. Then there is the GM and the President of basketball operations. What's the power differences between them? How does Pelinka get more power if he has the same GM job? Is there no set job that they have? Does the President of basketball operations usually get to make the decision on firing a coach even if the owner likes the coach? Did Magic think he would have the final say in that decision? If the owner likes someone it doesn't seem like anyone could fire them without their permission. Look at the embarrassment that occurred with Anthony Davis, letting Zubac and Randle go for nothing. Letting Lou Williams go. I'll cut him some slack for Russell cause the contract he dumped was necessary and Kuzma was a good pick. But the role he had on the team is a workhorse role, and he's not up for that type of work.
