I remember when Magic was a coach. They lost 10 straight in a row in 1994. It was the Lakers' longest losing streak. They ended up drafting Eddie Jones with the 10th pick. Great move by Jerry West.

Magic Johnson did this job as a favor to the Lakers' organization and his friendship with the Buss' family - that's all. The truth is he didn't need this foolishness; they used him as the 'clean-up' man and he took all the hits but they gave Magic Johnson no power to control everything that he would be responsible concerning. So the issue is for the Lakers and it's their business and it's their fault. I find NO fault in Magic Johnson... he realized how he was being treated and acted accordingly - how they treated him.

It's 25 years ago (Magic's aborted coaching stint) all over again. I should've known better. Magic and Isaiah are cut from the same cloth: charismatic, talented point guards who are very untrustworthy in the coaching and front office realms of basketball. Hurts to say that as a Lakers fan, but it's just the way it has always been and just the way it is. I would not blame Jeanie for holding a grudge.

So they beat 2 teams fighting for playoff position and lost 4, and won 4 meaningless games.

Magic is a genius. What everyone is failing to noticed is that Magic will always be a Laker, a legend and a business man.
