That's the most elaborate routine I've seen them do. And I've gotta give it up for the camel, that's two dudes hunched over in that costume, one of them basically blind. They killed it.
I just dialed up the Stargate...and ended up here LOL🤣! This was the first 7" single I bought back in 1978, great tune which still brings a smile to my face years later.
We don't get stuff like this these days. Those women dancing and that camel who you can clearly see there are two people controlling it results in an amazing performance, innocent fun, makes you remember life can be good, not just 9-5 bullshit every day!
After I search for this video the algorithm gave me a bunch of “sexy” videos, instead of what I really want: two people C-walking in a bad animal suit.
This is brilliant, thank you! The song without the dancing camel is good but the fez, those dance moves and the bow at the end make it hilarious. I watch this video when I'm feeling down and it cheers me up. I wonder what Jonathan Richman thought of this 'interpretation'? Puts his boring performance of it to shame.
Thanks for re posting. Been too long. Puts a smile on my face. I gonna tell my caregiver Cherry that I forgot to tell her that I have been in a music video. Then I will play it and challenge her to spot me.
Probably choreography, costume design and camera angles all designed by the amazing Flick Colby! I love pantomime horses but a dancing camel 🐫 is even better!
Although based on an older song from 1973, Earl Zero’s “None Shall Escape the Judgment.”, it's a long way off being 'one of the first' reggae songs. which were popularised in the late 60s, and originated in the 30s!

think you'll find they are standing up straight with their heads in the humps. But impressive anyway
What a performance. Shame the dancers in the camel costume both got the hump. (Don't worry, I'll show myself out😆)
Pretty sure it's Sue and Lulu, the other two girls from Legs & Co in the camel. It moves like them too!

Almost pizzed myself...... watching the camel 'dance'..... Brilliant!
I've always thought this song was cool. Now I've seen this video dance routine, it is a cherry on top. 🍒
The camel is amazing!
at last back again! Shared it directly with my dancing matees! And my 12yrs old daughter will love to see it once more. Yee-haw!

That camel (Bactrian) with the fez deserves an Oscar!
So ein tolles Kamel habe ich noch nie gesehen! Genial! 😂😂😂😂😂
Das ist so bescheuert , dass es wieder gut ist .
Ich habs im Januar 1978 im Deutschen Fernsehn gesehn -

I remember that. Brilliant !
souvenirs ....juste génial
Awesome vintage tune and video too!)))
great!!!
верблюд просто бесподобен
This music was in the movie Grandslam.
The guy in the rear end of the camel must say to all his mates down the pub that he appeared on totp with pans people
leg and co were great dancers.
'Ieg and co'? Lol
And Jake the peg made four.@@stuartwray6175
Some really silly funny stuff....I know it's a Jonathan Richman song but am curious as to who put the video and choreography together?

@@martinross5521 Thanks Martin...very cool funny stuff
If you look long and close enough you will see that the camel is not real.
Well spotted, CGI is so realistic these days it nearly had me fooled.
Yes! Be upstanding for the Panto Camel!!!
Terribly innocent times. Did not know anything about sexism, racism or who did what with who!
How were they gonna be racist lol, all they knew was black skin. But yes I agree the best era to me!!

@@zzirfamo24 Who are you referring to?
Do they have snake charmers in Egypt? They’re something I associate with India.
This is virtually indistinguishable from the real song.
Wikkid Smood
That is a Bactrian camel ,not a dromedary
Rafa lo vió😅
apparently, Saville was the hind legs of the camel...
Now then ......Now then.
Boy, this is a sound for sore ears.
There were no camels in ancient Egypt.
There are no 'camels' in this video either! (It's two humans in a costume!!!).
But they had fezes!
They smoked Camel cigarettes.
Who's in the camel 🐫?
I think it's Sue and Lulu?
I wondered the same thing. Bet it was hot in there under all those studio lights.
@@sfcpres makes sense, their height and moves were so similar, they were often paired.
Snake Charmers????
lol
Snake Charmers in Egypt??? sack the researcher

original :D
What many do not know is that this song is one of the first to be made of reggae and it has lyrics, it is older than when they made this choreography.

If the guy in front of the camel farts, he will suffocate the guy behind him 😂
That's not how farts work!!! And it's girls in the camel as well! 😝
