I actually consider this one of the greatest songs in video games period. It's actually perfect. Aside from just being totally epic, it feels like the perfect final hurrah song and fits the atmosphere so well. Nintendo almost always nails it with music in their games and this one in particular is an exceptional piece. Love listening.
Same, but I'm from december 99. I have quite good memory of playing this game on a real N64 when I was 5 or 6 yo after a few months playing Super Mario Kart with my dad on a SNES emulator. The 3D graphics of MK64 were mind blowing for my younger self coming from Super Mario Kart, and also the huge bump in audio quality.
This is a pretty low key rainbow road and I like it for that: everything else is too overwhelming and bombastic. It makes me feel nostalgia even though I have never played this game.
My third favorite Rainbow Road in terms of music. The whole music track is filled with really fun and nice vibes, it's really good. Also this basically inspired most future Rainbow Road music tracks so huge props for that!
I had Mario Kart 64 on my Wii, it was the first Mario game I actually played to completion. This track was always a masterpiece to me. On 150cc, its just generally fun to play. Will always hold multiple tracks from this game in my mind as a reminder that this is where my gaming spree began. Randomly found a map of this on GMod the other day, playing a classic track like this with friends is nightmaric but awesome. Wonder if I can find Luigi Circuit.
The magic of the 90s for us kids will never be forgotten. The golden N64 days the multiple players with friends on 4 players while having snacks. Never forget the food times playing the N64 days.
Yeah same here, a neighbour of mine had the N64 when we both were teens and we used to play mk64, bomberman 64, diddy kong racing and smash bros. I loved playing those games with him but at the end I got a PlayStation for me instead of an N64, which also gave me great times.
My second favourite Rainbow Road song and my second favourite Mario Kart song in general. I may prefer the MK7 RR song but this one is easily the most iconic track theme in the whole series.
I used to play this game on my N64. That was until my family moved, and we put the N64 in a storage area, and then it was stolen :(😢. The nostalgia stays with me. 4Ever.
This is definitely both the most legendary track and track soundtrack in all of Mario Kart. Rainbow Road will always be the final track in every Mario Kart game. A great last hurrah before the end credits roll. 🌈

I wish i still had my N64 and at least this game! Some ass hat of a "friend" some it front many years ago when they stayed the night. Been searching for another one but the prices for them alone, not even the games... just insane!

This is the best iconic music on mario kart history.
Even of the new mario karts can't beat this track!!
The other rainbow road themes are still extremely good, but this one is good in another way, and thus shall not be beaten.
I placing this 2nd, because i find Double Dash's soundtrack way more better.
@@sebastianvangen yet it took notes from this

Probably my favorite song in the game as well as my favorite track! The memories!
My biggest wish is hoping Kenta Nagata knows how much we appreciate his song writing. This is awesome.
Nagata didn't only make Mario Kart musics. They also made Wind Waker music iirc.
Brings a tear to my eye

What I feel about this music is that not only its nostalgic, it's the perfect tune for the final track of the game.
One time, I actually teared up while listening to this masterpiece.
Nostalgia has never hit this hard before 😖👌
El mejor soundtrack que tuvo mi infancia cuando jugué Mario kart hasta jugaba en modo contrareloj por escuchar este tema
Lo jugué por primera vez en el 2002 😢 y esta rolita me lleva a mi infancia
love how part of this song is heard in every other rainbow road
It’s only in the Double Dash and 7 versions

Not only the best Rainbow Road theme, but also the best music in the entire franchise in my opinion.
Perfect theme for the last track. 🌈

I've played this game, it's my childhood. And Rainbow Road is the best stage and the best music from this game, in my opinion.
Gotta love the good ol' shortcut from the beginning of the race. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
This is by far the best mk rainbow road theme and the longest track being 2000 miles long (on mk 64)
