Imagine walking into a social studies class back in the day and being show this. It has to be seen to believed. Featuring a young Michael Richards (Seinfeld) as a racist bully. Being 63 and white, I have seen the situation improve dramatically *until the last decade* . I don't know how we got here. Things were advancing steadily, not for everyone of course, but I truly believe we were on the right track. Ever since the 2008 crash, things have steadily gone downhill. It's like I woke up one day and was back in the 60's. I'm here trying to understand why.

    • @Moon_Rise100
      @Moon_Rise100 4 года назад +18

      @@AGirlHasNoName1.168 I think you know why and how. By you being a white person, it's up to you to get other white people to see the racism and prejudice, black people go through every single day. It's not up to black people. We are tired of trying to convince white people at this point in time. It's up to people like you to show other white folks the era of their ways. Stop being in denial of the cruelty blacks have endured by your people. I think another possible solution is to believe that white children that are now adults were not educated about black people and slavery, especially whites from the South. There has to be a conversation starting with the truth.

    Now, in 2020 post Covid19 (we hope), whites are about to understand some of the fundamentals of this video. Incentive of huge unemployment benefits has already shown people will choose not to work when given the option. With the rise of technology, this will become more widespread. A system MUST be developed to compensate for the loss of jobs, thus hope for the upcoming generation as well as those who were once part of "productive" society. The golden age will be preceded by much pain and misery. We must come together...there is no choice. The wealth gap *must* be bridged. How is up to us all. Our civilization for future generations depends on it. The answer is communication and love. Make it happen...please!

    It's normal to be uncomfortable around the unknown, but the cruelty and disrespect is unacceptable. Children when they are young are innocent yet curious. When I went to my cousins wedding, that was a mixed couple, the little kids that was of different races was playing with each other and asking different questions about appearances. We as adults try to ignore our differences to try and be neutral. This doesn't fix the problem. Be real. You will be amazed at how far it goes when meeting people from different cultures and background. This documentary was interesting and it involves race relations but can be applied to anyone who is different.

    As a Black African all I can say on hate: Hate is taught to us, I remember back in 2007 when my country (Kenya) had elections, as soon as deceit was smelt in the air one tribe turned on another, my own families and relatives taught tribal hate and prejudice against a certain tribe and it sinked deep into my mind as a child, luckily exposure helped me see life clearly for what one and who one is...

This tells me that even the filmmakers got caught up in their own racial stereotypes!

      This was said on purpose to give an example of how some racist white people talk nonsense about the African American community.
      It's meant to be laughable and pathetic, we should all know that some people of all races and ethnic groups and nationalities smell badly, for whatever reason, but any one with any sense knows how stupid it is to say that a particular race smells more than others.
      So for you to say virtually the same thing, but from your point of view as an African American is no different than a white racist saying the same thing about black people.
      Predjudice comes from all sides, we can all be the target of bigots and racists of any colour.

    • @simonyip5978
      @simonyip5978 4 года назад +2

      @Joy Joy do you realise that you sound like a prejudiced bigot who believes that 'all' white people smell more or smell worse than black people.
      Why would anyone smell badly after showering? And all races would smell badly if we didn't wash our bodies and hair and our clothes and our homes.
      I hate blind racism, but I think that we all have to be treated equally, so answering bigotry with bigotry is not the way to make everyone equally capable and equally responsible for their own actions and their own statements.
