      They did not fight, bleed, and die for the right to vote for the white controlled democrat and republican parties. They wanted the vote to control the economics and politics of their communities. They formed an INDEPENDANT political party with Black candidates who were sharecroppers, workers, etc. NOT integration.

    Very moving. My people are a great people! God bless SNCC and the BPP. This is when the tide began to turn. We got off our knees! Began to tell the truth of our odious conditions. Began to turn toward each other for support. Organized. Began to understand that faith without works was dead. Began to understand that the peace we wanted, we’d have to fight for it, that we had a human right to defend ourselves from violence. Students, children, young people lead the way forward. We kept our eyes on the prize. We held on. We want freedom, the human right to determine our own destiny. And we will have it or die trying. The culture many of you claim today is not the culture that brought us up from slavery and out the mud. A trap house won’t do it! Keep your head up and eyes on the prize. BET won’t do it!! A side deal won’t do it! Cop City can’t do it!!! Do the hard stuff, the things that are necessary and we cannot lose.

      Lovely Ladybug The greatest sadness is they honestly still believe they're Black and African Americans and other such crap. We were here when they got here in 1492. Matter of fact, they'd only gotten control of Europe FROM US just 9 months before Columbus reached here. He had Pedro "The Moor" piloting his ship. There were 5 of these dirty Moors who's were really converted Jews in disguise. One settled in Virginia and that history speaks for itself. We can't go back to Africa because this America is still Northwest Africa, on paper. It's deep, but enlightening.

      The saddest part is in reality we are still fighting for equality and we are still battling a system designed to not only oppress us but keep us oppressed. As we used to say back in the day..."Don't believe the hype"! Our neighborhoods and schools are still neglected and perfectly designed to feed the incarceration system which makes the rich richer...we, especially our men are being targeted on the regular mostly for just being and trying to provide for their family...there is still not equal pay...they still plant guns and drugs in our neighborhoods yet we are the ones that pay for that when they get off free. Yes, maybe we are able to vote and for the most part choose our school but if the access is cut off from you then how do you expect even that to happen? When we want to buy a house, take out a loan or buy a car, our interest rates are higher! We still have a long, long, long way to go and the only way to do that is to learn your history (not being rude, I believe the younger generation should really look up your own history...not the one being taught to you in school because they are very selective)! This wasn't allowed...it was forced (two very different things) and enforced. In many aspects of our lives we are still being held hostage by a system that don't see us as equal.

    • @Nitarose42
      @Nitarose42 6 лет назад +2

      You are right...we are neither Black or African American! We are Isrealites! We are the chosen people! They have always known who we were while we are just finding out. That is why they fight so hard to keep us brainwashed! It was our great grandmother x 20 (not statistical but theoretically speaking) that populated the entire world and we were in so called America when they first got here...we were called Indians and Mexicans (Both belong to the 12 tribes of Israel)...they are us and we are them.

    • @saroyafanniel8932
      @saroyafanniel8932 5 лет назад +23

      @Marie Why are you saying that? Do you realize your attitude is the same mentality that you are denigrating others for? There are myriad studies showing the validity of inter-generational trauma in regard to devastating conditions, like the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, and how it effects a entire culture exponentially over the decades when not addressed. There was no therapy for slaves after they were freed. The issues we face in our communities were not created in a vacuum nor happened overnight. In the case of many folks of color it results from the constant and consistent insult, injury (Mind-Body-Spirit) and suppressed anger caused by the sickness of 'White' supremacy, and being on the receiving end of the racist behavior it instigates -- including your reaction. Like so many traumatized people of color, many have internalized and projected it upon those who look like them. Yet the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Statistics released a report detailing statistics from 2012-2015. When you break down violent crimes, they *happen* most often *within* racial groups. 'White' people are more likely to perpetuate a violent crime against another 'White' person. And the same for every other racial group. But when you dig deeper into the crimes 'Whites' commit against each other the crimes 'Blacks' commit against each other, crime rates for 'White' people are four times higher than crimes rates for 'Blacks'. (12.0 per 1,000) vs. (3.1 per 1000) as of 2010, 'Black' people made up 13 percent of the population but 40 percent of the prison population. Meanwhile 'White' people are 64 percent of the population and 39 percent of prisons.
      That is ridiculously unbalanced no matter how you slice it. Period.
      What creates the perception that 'Blacks' are just *so much* more violent than other groups? The difference is in media coverage. They report on and bombard us with image upon sound bites upon memes on the radio, internet and billboards. Showing people of color committing crime or behaving outlandishly, especially within their own communities, at a exponentially higher rate than they do for 'White' communities. This shapes a particular perception that is skewed and completely removed from reality. Yet that's all part of the propaganda game of Divide and Conquer. The above statistics indicating the actual state of crime in the US, can be found over and over in myriad studies done by a variety of research initiatives, organizations and private foundations of both 'liberal' and 'conservative' ideology. So it is time to let that one go. And I suggest we all check *ourselves*, and be kind to *ourselves*, so that we can be compassionate towards others and truly be of service to our brother and sister human beings.

    I appreciate these videos. I had the pleasure of growing up with great grand parents and grandparents on both sides. And my children the same. And having those centuries gave us 1st hand knowledge of the change. It also taught us to be greatful. We arent rich with money but we are truely billionaires of education of truth. Est. 1884- 2020 worth of knowledge for our bloodline. Our people our glorious!! Thats why they fear us. No secrets. Just GROWTH

      Real talk " I've been tormented " in my soul I've been fighting against my own people for so long " I don't know how to unite with my own brothers and sisters . You see where I live" we still against each other . Example I came home from work one day and my neighbor was shaking my door knob ! So I went out side and caught him on the side of the house and confronted him " Man I was so mad I was ready to kill " so I told him a few choice words just to sternly warn him to stay on his side and I'll stay on mine . This situation is still tense and one match can blow it up . I personally hate it because I do want to change unfortunately there are those who are not with unity . It hurts my spirit knowing my people won't even postpone the bs for the greater cause .

    Those who oppressed these PRECIOUS people, families, and generations, WILL face Jesus. Those oppressors might have lived a good, maybe even lavish life, and their seed and future generations may enjoy the results of what they did to them. What will they say when they have to face God?

I think her name should be in every history book. LBJ interrupted her testimony b4 the DNC by announcing a senators b-day. Her words got to the American public irregardless.

    The big question is, if you have so much respect for our black ancestors and elders, how exactly are you showing or demonstrating that today? What exactly is it that YOU as an individual are doing to improve the black community and the world as a whole? THAT is a question the ALL OF US as individuals need to ask ourselves and be able to answer.. Because talk is cheap!! You can't be a black man, who respects the black struggle, but then turn around and disrespect black women! You can't be a black woman and respect the elders and the struggle, but then spend more money on your hair and nails than you do on school supplies for your kids and cuss the teachers out when they call you about your child acting up at school.... WE gotta start having some honest conversations in Black America...

We still have a long way to go and the fighters like Fanny Lou Hamer, Malcolm X, Julian Bond, John Lewis are not made anymore. May our people learn to be emancipated from mental slavery some day. Forever thanks to our ancestors. They did exemplary work ❤❤❤
