Best thing about Rav4 is the ergonomics and thats why i chose this over Mazda cx 5. The short armrest, misplaced glass holder etc, placement of phone charger, out of reach placement of infotainment screen makes cx 5 a very difficult proposition. Yes its good lush interior to look at but i'm sure long drives will be much more enjoyable in Rav4 because of the comfort and smart ergonomics.
I've got a 20 RAV4 XLE. I love everything about it. Material quality and fit and finish are good. The powertrain is great, I think. The acceleration is effortless at all speeds, which isn't something I was expecting coming from a turbocharged vehicle. The only thing I'd want is more sound deadening for road noise. Wind noise and engine noise are non issues.
@@daniyunis6855 Nah it's not. I did a highway road trip and the car was stable at 140 km/h. Acceleration is good. The engine power is more than sufficient.
@@daniyunis6855 I've had it for one year and 2 months now and it currently has 15,000 km on it. I haven't had any mechanical issues or quality/fit and finish issues so far. The fuel economy is really good for an AWD crossover. I'm currently averaging 12.3 km/L (29 mpg) and get above 15km/L (35 mpg) on the highway with heating on. I think a highway test drive is the best way for you to gauge acceleration and passing power and road noise.
Got a new 2022 XLE Premium because it checked all my boxes. This is definitely a value for money suv for medium height 1-2 occupants. For us, it didn’t work quite well when we wanted to do road trips with 4 adults + 1 infant. It feels cramped when all seats are occupied. Luggage space is adequate for 1-2 people after second row. You will get weird reflection in your side mirrors, and I wasn’t sure how to get rid of it. This is probably the best compact suv and value for money. I traded it with a more standard size suv ‘Jeep Grand Cherokee L Overland’ which was twice as costly as my RAV4 and I am in completely love with it but my RAV4 was definitely a smart choice for up to 2 people.
If you want to spend the extra $3k for it sure. Remember though, even if one drove 20k miles per year of JUST city driving, it would take nearly 4 years to pay off that difference. Using combined numbers with a more average yearly commute and you'd be nearly 8 years from paying off that initial price difference.
@@ALMX5DP Not really, at 3 bucks a gallon you save 1000 bucks every 25k miles on average, if you drive your car 40k miles and sell it, go with the normal engine, anything over that go with the hybrid, remember that hybrids do hold value a bit better as well, and that is with 3 bucks gallon, if the gas go up the savings will drastically increase. But it's your choice.

Loved the sporty snd rugged look of the Adventure and all the new bells and whistles that comes with all the model as standard. However expect to spend above $32-35k and up of you want more than the LE. I, however, would personally want the Hybrid in the future.
My point from the previous video remains: If a fully spec Rav4 is around starting price for Lexus UX, then I have no clue who could pick the Lexus over Rav4. Not because it's necessary a better car, a better looking* car, but you get all the options, larger space, similar reliability for the same price. It's a similar "entry level German" price/features vs "full spec US brand" price/features car one might have.
Isn't this like saying what's the point of having luxury vehicle classes??? There is obviously a market for both. Stop comparing them. They're not the same.
Lexus are more fine tuned and luxury. You may get more features with a full spec RAV4 compared to a entry Lexus, but there's things that the Lexus offer that isn't on paper, like smooth ride quality, fine tuned engine for smooth driving, quieter cobin, and better interior materials. Also most of the time, people who have the money for a luxury car, won't be settling for a entry version.
You can also get 10 McDonald's hamburgers for the price of 1 good steak. But you already know this. More important, why do you claim to know what someone else needs or wants in a car?

Was considering the remodeled rav4 adventure(canadian for trail) model until joining the 2019 rav4 facebook group and reading a lot of owner's having buyer's remorse because the new 8 speed transmission is causing major shifting and jolting problems. Toyota is already working on a new software to change shifting patterns. For me, I'm not willing to buy a vehicle knowing this is an issue and software updates are already being done. I'm also wanting to buy now, so I'm not willing to wait for the 2020 model. I will be going with the 2019 Mazda CX-5.
What about tiny 7" infotainment screen and thick bezel and frame around the screen ? For such a great SUV, why Toyota can't make screen size 8" or more and reduce bezel/frame around it ?

Hi @Micah Muzio 🙂. Excellent full review of Toyota's all new RAV4, I'm only 36 yrs old and remember the very first RAV4. It certainly has come a long way, but I'm truly surprised there's no android auto available given it's a 2019 model. I'm thinking about an SUV for my next vehicle if I don't keep my 2014 Jetta, but it's truly the greatest car I've owned plus I'm about 6'3" tall, so my Jetta fits me perfectly. I'm thinking the 2019 RAV4 or Forester would certainly be a big step up. My very first car was a green 1998 Kia Sephia during high school and early college days, so my Jetta is by far the best in regard to reliability and build quality. Happy Thanksgiving friend.

Dennis Xu more than marginally, the overall feeling of luxury, and premium materials are miles ahead in the Lexus.

Maybe in the NX or RX, but not in the UX
The rear looks the same to me
It gets better every year tbh!
can the cupholder fit my pringles can?
Price difference b/w Limited Fwd and Limited Hybrid?
Alex Malkin $2200
Finally a nice looking SUV to challenge the expensive RDX and the not so expensive CX-5. I can see myself driving this even as a guy. The CR-V feels girlie.
Best review EVER!!!
Why do they even offer the AWD non-hybrid model?
For us buyers that don’t want to deal with the expense and eventual replacement of fire prone high voltage batteries.🔥🔥🔥🔥
Too bad that the position adjustment is not big enough for short people. Where I live RAV4 is offered with 2.0l and direct shift CVT :(
This reviewers sense of humour made me subscriber 😂
Not really looking into buying a rav4. Just wanted to see Micah 😍😍😂
So much has changed in 20 years with cars its insane
Android Auto when? It's the deal breaker for me right now.
Will be a while
Get a phone that isn't open source lol.
That is such a silly reason not to get a car. If you like everything else about it, why let something like that stop you?
Yan B. Alexa: yes
Android Auto: no
Makes sense
@@deandiamond5479 I'm about 2 years away from changing cars, I'm just hoping it gets done by then. Seems odd in 2019 to have Carplay and frickin Alexa but no AA
Such a fun host!!! Loves it!
2.5 liter na engine and a normal transmission not tat crap cvt, i would buy this over the crv and i love honda
*_•reshirm•_* its just not tat though they feel crappy drivinf them, i have a new versa and i had a accord before that am sure the honda will outlast it but they both feel crappy when driving. My weekender is my mustang
tee an chan who’s?
Because you got burnt by Nisson crappy CVT, doesn't it all bad. I never had issue with my Aisin .
@*_•reshirm•_* I knee Nissan uses JATCO. They were bad. I had a corolla for a short while, the Aisin CVT was great.
@*_•reshirm•_* TBH, the Corolla I bought was in a hurry. I came back from deployment and my 13 years old Grand Cherokee broke down on me after sitting in the lot for too long. I made it runs and trades it in for a used 14 Corolla. Cuz the nearest dealership was Toyota. I was very impressed buy the little bugger. But after reassigning to east coast, the winter was way too brutal for the little car. I traded her in for a 4Runner.
dream car its beautiful
It's ugly as are all Toyota s
@@clivewatson3609 why are you here.....
Fed up of people prasing Toyota when there awful had more recalls than any other company and there awful to drive my opinion that's all
1:44 was that a lincoln ui?????????? ;)
For those to that in love with the CRV, becareful. Your engine damage is heading your way. Or trade it in before the engine die. Oil dilution.
pnweezy that’s fixed by now
CRV Turbo + Direct Injection = carbon deposits and gas oil dilution = Junk 💩
My next car.
I liked the exterior of the 2018 a lot better, but the interior is way nicer on the 2019.
I disagree with you there. The exterior on the new RAV is WAAAAY better.
Currently drive a 2010 Ford Escape Limited v6. Never was a fan of the RAV4. Considering the options toyota gives for models and the styling is growing on me
Fords are junk.💩
The rear end reminds me of the Jeep Cherokee, but other than that’s its not bad. I’m in the market for a new car, this is definitely a contender.
Who all has the 2019 Rav4 and has issues with it jolting so hard when its switching gears? I have had mine for two weeks and it already is having issues with gear shifting and now jolting so hard it flings my head and neck forward! I have bulging discs in my neck and I cant be in a car that does this daily. It's currently in the shop now. They said they cant find anything wrong with it even though I have witnesses who have experienced this issue. One being the salesman who drove it on Saturday and witnessed first hand the severe head jerk. This car is brand spanking new! I have read many consumer reports and there are tons of people complaining about this same issue. Again....I have severe neck issues and this is not safe for my neck. I want to know if Toyota plans to address this issue or if they will force me to drive this until my disk is herniated and I'm out of work and on the operating table? And then still driving it after surgery jolting my neck?
I'm 13 DAYS IN! I WANT A SAFER VEHICLE! I WANT A TRADE IF THIS IS THE "NORMAL". ILL BE DAMNED IF I JUST FINANCED $32,000 FOR A CAR THAT WILL CAUSE ME MORE HEALTH PROBLEMS AND CAUSE ME TO LOSE MONEY BECAUSE I CANT WORK OR SURGERIES.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY SITUATION TOYOTA! MAKE THIS RIGHT.
