Scotty! I’ve got a 2011 Honda Accord lx-s coupe, a couple months ago started hearing loud whizzing noise when going around 50 or 60mph or higher, tires are new, rotated, and sounds like it’s something that’s coming from under the hood!
My Girlfriend had this exact one . She loved it , great in winter ( awd ) and spacious. Only complaint i had were the seats . After 30 mins my back started To hurt. We have a 2019 now, so far the seats seem more comfortable, but havent had the chance To drive it more than 15 mins yet.

The reliability of this car is insane, I bought it brand new in 2014 and still have it after almost 8;years without a single issue, just change oils and do tire rotation, I’m also taking it some times to off roads, maybe because of it light weight and 18 tires it really do a good job out there
@Dracula Buttf**ker 3000 my 2013 LImited gets ~26 city & hwy, basically little or no improvement over 2000 Camry w/2.2L or 1987 Chevy celebrity w/2.5L which was a bigger 6 passenger vehicle, albeit neither had AWD. Also A/C has failed at 70K, was still working at 225K on the Camry...
Well I took it to my mechanic and he checked it out, told me to stand fast about the dealer replacing the 3engine mounts and front struts were leaking needed replacing. So I did, the Nissan dealership is fixing both. Pat said this is a vehicle that will last 300,000 as long as I keep up on maintenance. I live in Az, the summer heat is extremely hard condition so it's important to have a reliable vehicle. I pick it up later today. Lol I'm a grandma with demon spawn grandkids lol I need it toddler and pre- teenagers proof reliability.
I chose a 2016 RAV4 SE over a 2017 CR-V. The main reason why is because of the 2.5L & 6 Speed auto. CR-V has everything I was looking for, but that 1.5T & CVT was the deal breaker.
I love my 2010 Rav4 with the "ugly tire on the back" 😅. Having the tire on the back gives me an extra secret storage area that no one is the wiser about! I can fit all my work stuff in it.
Yep, me too. I have the 2007 model, and I use the secret storage space more than any other feature on the car. Not only for storage and hiding things, but when I rip the lid off, I can fit 2 Mountain bikes inside with ease, as long as the wheels are turned sideways. I was going to update a few years ago, but I have decided to keep and run this car into the ground. 2016 rav 4 xle awd...bought brand new....been all over the country...no issues...110 k miles on it now.....simple oil changes and 100k tune up...definitely underrated....Toyota’s are simply the best👌🏽
I've got a 2014 RAV4 (bought new). About to hit 80,000, and I've never had to do anything other than regular maintenance--oil changes, filters, new tires, new front brakes. Great transmission, impressive acceleration. By far, the best car I've ever owned in my 57 years.
I have a new 2022 rav4 hybrid that is on the way, I am still unsure if i should back out and just buy a 2010 rav4 just to save money. I would drive the 2022 till it dies
I absolutely love my 2015 RAV4. Got it used at 50k miles from a single owner and runs so smoothly still. I can’t wait to enjoy the ride for years to come.
@@qreqorious 60k miles is amazingly young! Wow. Very happy for you, the RAV4 is a tank. I’m at 126,723 miles and I tell ya she still runs beautifully. Recently did some normal upkeep like new brakes and will be replacing some engine gasket to prevent future issues. I’m very confident I’ll be cruising in my RAV4 for 15 more years! I finished paying it off March 2023. Feels so good to finally have a fantastic vehicle.
I have been looking for a vehicle for a few weeks now. Whenever I find something I'm interested in, I say to myself, "What's Scotty think, though? Lemme go look." You remind me of my group of people I hang out with. I appreciate people like you so much. Thank you!
My first RAV4 I bought used without checking with a mechanic. I later took it to a Toyota/Lexus-only mechanic. It had been run for tens of thousands of miles without an oil change. The mechanic kept it running for some years for me, using heavier oil and a bit of care. I can’t recommend doing what I did, but the engine did hold up despite earlier abuse...
Been loving my 2018 Rav4. The convincing factor for buying it was that the Rav4 design between 2014-2018 models only had recalls for the weight stickers in 4 years.
We rented one a few years ago and loved it--Until we tested getting into the back seats. They are fine for kids and skinny teenagers. I can't imagine getting into 3rd row seats unless you can be lowered in through the hatch.
Happy to hear Scotty! Bought my 2015 rav4 about 8 months ago. Did tons of research and based on my budget this was the best purchase i could have made. If i had more money to spend, I would have just went with a tacoma or a 4runner. 70,000 miles on my rav4 and zero issues! Good gas, good offroad and in the snow, and have towed trailers with it, put full size couches in the back, and has good pickup when i need it!@
@sharonoddlyenough I'm at 140,000 miles, I've done nothing but some brake pads, oil changes, and 1 battery! Still highly reccomend, welcome to the family!
I Have a 2019 Rav 4 XLE premium package since January with all the bells and whistles and not had not one issue. I'm getting 25 to 27 mpg in NYC, 325 to 345 miles in between full ups. This vehicle is beyond my expectation, has all the latest technology. Toyota did a great job with this new Generation of Rav 4's.
Just got a 2017 Rav4 LE AWD with 60000 miles on it and love it. Same 6 speed trans and the 2.5lt engine . Hope it holds up better than all the Fords and Chevs I've owned. Thank for the advice Scotty!
I bought a 2013 brand new and the only thing I had to replace is Tires, break pads, wiper blades, air filters and oil changes that's it and she still drives like brand new nice and Solid.
zkr99 Definitely, they’re so fast for what they are too, i did a 0-60 using An obd2 reader and got 5.75 seconds. I was shocked. I tried again and got 5.9. Cant believe a Rav4 is damn near as fast to 60 as my old V8 Camaro.
Hahaha yeah it's as fast as the '89 5.0 mustang I had. Total sleeper, surprised a few "sports cars" at the stoplight. Also I can comfortably tow my boat :-)
I live 25 miles from the Canadian assembly plant for RAV4s. We own a 2006 6 cyl (with a whopping 270 hp!) and a 2015 4 cyl RAV4s. NEVER have they let us down! I’m an EX Subaru man. These RAV4s have won me over.
Cherry Picker Guitars subarus are trash,, especially now with the CVT, good move,, their AWD is undefeated however... But a V-6 RAV4 is the way to go I would take that over a new one any day
Keye Haze Yep, you’re so right! As much as I loved my 2002 Subaru Legacy GT wagon, and appreciated it’s AWSOME AWD abilities in Canadian winters, the f’n thing’s head gasket blew and subsequently warped the head at 170;000 kms and was dead! That’s exactly the mileage predicted for that prob with Subaru’s, too! If Toyota keeps their quality up, they’ll have this customer for ever!
Cherry Picker Guitars Yep in the US they say it's predicted 100000-120000 miles Which is terrible, I had a 2011 camry (got in 2014) and pit 290K on it by 2018 And still regret selling it, it would've lived at that Subarus life three times... And now Toyota has a new AWD system in the RAV4 That will be all terrain worthy In the higher trims so Subaru is it really going to be fighting for cars
I prefer the tire in the back. I was on a road trip once with the interior full and I got a flat tire. Had to unload everything in the back out before I could take out the spare. And it was drizzling that day.
Actually, the 2006-2012 RAV4s (the last ones with the spare tire outside) were the only ones that had the option of the third row seating. They also offered the 3.5 liter 255 hp V6 as an option that isn't available on any other gen RAV4. The V6 version is fast! To me, the seats are too hard for me to be comfortable on the newer RAVs (2013 and newer). You're right though: RAVs are crazy reliable.
I was looking for first the comment to comment about the 3rd row 😂 personally I enjoyed the 2013-18 from seats. I liked the lumbar and side bolster support
@@Anthony-nx5yu I had a 2016 RAV4 XLE. The seats weren't bad; They just weren't as comfortable as the seats in many other cars I've owned. I bought it for it's reliability and practicality, but I never could find a comfortable position no matter how much I adjusted the seats. I'm 6'3, 205 lbs and it felt like they skimped on the padding.. You're right about the lumbar and bolsters. That impressed me too.
@@FixIt1975, unless you neglect to properly maintain it, this holds true. Some of my friends' parents have driven Toyotas that have gone well over 300K (hard to believe, but I have photos) and are still running smooth as silk.
I’ve just done 30000 miles in my year old 2018 RAV4 hybrid. The CVT is so relaxing to drive on the motorway and in town traffic jams. The suspension is quite soft and a little wallowy round corners. But it is comfortable. When you drive every day and do 30000 miles a year that’s what matters. It is not a sports car. If you want sporty driving buy a sports car,
I am amazed with this vehicle,I bought one for my wife and never had any problems five years. It’s sad I will sell my American car which broke down constantly and buy Toyota / Lexus from now on
I'm about to sell my last America car. Acadia. 98k miles and the AC goes out. Not covered under warranty. I had a s10 blazer that I put 300k miles on never a problem. Bought a new more expensive car from Chevrolet and the quality sucks. Toyota from her on out
I have a 2013 rav4 limited 130,000 miles. It is by far the best vehicle I've ever owned. I don't plan ever getting rid of it. The leather seats never appear to age either. Nice looking vehicle.
Scotty love the channel. Just a note: The Rav4 does not come with third row after 2012. The Hybrid Rav is an AWD Hybrid Camry, comes with the larger 2.5L vs the 1.8L . This gives you 200+ Hp and FtLbs of torque.
Scotty: I am SOOO glad I found your channel - I can not describe! This is an exception for many years - to meet such interesting, cheerful and sarcastic person ! Thank you a lot!!! Best regards, Peter.
Love, love, love my 2006 RAV4! It has 196,000 miles. It leaked oil one time......it was a seal! No other problems. Still looks great and drives great. I will be replacing it with another one.
I read a press release by Toyota saying that beginning with their 2020 model hybrids, they were increasing the warranty on the batteries from 8 years/100,000 miles to 10 years/150,000 miles (240,000 KM for Canadians). That's significant. Something to think about for people in the market for a new car/hybrid. That clearly shows how much confidence Toyota has in the increased reliability of their batteries.
I have a 2012 Rav4 and I've had it since 2013. I absolutely love it, even the "ugly tire" on the back. It has 185K miles on it and it still drives like a dream. My next vehicle is going to be another Rav4 or a 4Runner.
I bought in 2020 a rav4 limited 2015 reconditioned to new and repainted at toyota's expense (return of paint the month after purchase). I'M FKING LOVING IT !!! We are on the most advanced standard technologies from toyota. I had the possibility of buying new, hybrid ect but I stopped on this one by telling myself exactly the same thing as Scotty. I am listening to this video a year after my purchase and I am even more satisfied than I am now! I know I could do 1,000,000 km with "Sorry for my English, I'm French Canadian!" Greating from Quebec !!!
Shortly after I saw this video I decided to buy a 2018 Rav4. That was over a year ago. Highway mpg is 35 if you stay between 60-63 mph. Great vehicle and no problems so far.
my mom has the 2012 v6 AWD rav4 limited, it goes from 0-60 MPH in like 5.9 seconds. although the water pump did go out around 80K miles... it is a beast of a vehicle and has plenty of space for a "compact" suv!
I actually really liked the old style door that opened outward, and the v6 was no joke either you would be shocked at the power That little SUV had, I also feel like they cheapened the newer one up and some respects they don't have the LED tail lights in the rear anymore in the old RAVs used to have some kind of rough material at the bottom for stone chips and rust proofing that the new ones don't have
Pimpin Truelife I think the new RAV4s are good but for me, I find them a little too big and just like all the other small to midsize SUVs out there. Oh well, I think our next car will be a plug-in sedan, time to change our ways and save gas money.
I have a 2014 XLE AWD. It is a wonderful car! I Love it and it handles like a dream. I even tried to get it stuck in soft sand, but it plowed right through. No problems at all so far. That's 6 years with no problems!
My 2018 only gets 28-29 mpg on the highway. Ran it from Dallas to central Illinois and back this week. Bought the second from the lowest of the line, 6 speed auto. All in all it's a good vehicle.
I agree 100% i bought a 2012 Rav4 from Hertz with 21k on it. Today over 175k and still going strong. Changed plugs, oil, brakes, belt and O2 sensors, oil and air filters only. Did transmission oil at 100k & 150k. I use it every day for service work with five to eight stops a day. Think of how many times i have started up that car. I have taken it to Maine many times on hunting trips in horrible weather with snow and ice on back country logging roads. I only use Yokohama AT-S all terrain tires. They always go 50k and nothing can stop them. As a matter of fact i need to order two more soon. Using oil now at an accelerated rate but nothing that i can't live with.
I love that 6-speed automatic mated to that 2.5L I-4 engine... I've got it in my 2010 Camry....bulletproof combination... 80,000 trouble-free miles and counting...
I wish I had that! I've got a 2010 Camry and it's on its 3rd transmission. I bought it on its 2nd and it ground it to bits. Every 70k I have go change it.... Gonna sell it soon.
I own a 2012. Love the tire in the back. Plenty of space to hide things under back rear. Tire takes up storage space. Bought it used in 2014. No issues. I still have under 100k miles.
Still have our 2008 v6 4wd rav4. Just crossed 200k miles. Had to get the front struts and front passenger side cv fixed. Dramatically improved the handling and back to being very quick and nimble. 260 hp. It rocks!! Can’t get it in v6 anymore I think. That Lexus engine is great.
I love my red 2010 RAV4 with the"ugly tire" on the back. It gives it a sporty look and style. Plus I have extra hidden trunk space. The newer RAV4s have a generic look.
My 2014 XA40, @ 66k miles, has been almost perfect. The only “major repair” was the a/c blower replaced…$70 and about an hour and a half of my time versus the $395 the stealership was charging. Great wagon, good power, very well built.
I just traded in my 17 Chrysler 300c for a 16 rav4 limited awd. I’m taking your word on this one, Scotty, since I do a lot of driving. I’ve never heard anyone say bad things about Toyota’s- atleast the properly maintained ones.
@@alexandermuniz6118 wow still the thing with Toyota you don't have to highlight that the transmission is original it is a given no matter the miles. How many toyotas have you heard that they have to change the transmission? Now Honda is another thing you got the timing belt you have to change every 100k and the transmission you have to change too they are just like buying a hybrid you have to think about that transmission at some point
My 15 years old RAV4 got 35 mpg city and 50 mpg on highway, tuned to 185 bhp. 230,000 miles, standard maintenance, going strong. No reason to buy new fluffy one.
I’m so grateful and happy about Rav 4 design...I bought a 2000 RAV4 L, 5 speed manual trans in 2001, it had 14k miles, and now near 20 years later it’s had zero problems. Zero. I really appreciated the problem-free nature of Rav4. Now it has racked up 208k miles, and all I’ve ever repaired is brakes, battery, tires, just the usual maintenance, and even forgot to change oil on time occasionally. This vehicle is truly bulletproof. My only regret is didn’t find one with leather upholstery, as my dogs and kids throughout the years have done upholstery wear, and other regret is that I never upgraded the sound system. (Minor things and unrelated to performance or durability.) I’m thinking I’ll drive it to 300k and consider buying another! It’s been a great car for hauling and the roof racks have held huge items. I’m an artist and a scavenger. This car has been a workhorse for me.
I bought a brand new 2015 back in 2015, xle rav 4, 40k miles now, 2 wheel drive. Transmission a little jerky and misses, ac can be loud, no power and still a bit small for me. But been in some close calls with car accidents and car took care of me well ok on gas and I have had no real issues. Planning on keeping it that why I bought it in the first place for the long run. So far so good.
This car is AWESOME! Mine came equipped with an all new, personally handcrafted, best in class, fully functioning, scrotum massaging apperatus BUILT INTO THE SEAT!! Yes, with adjustable heat.
Outstanding professional mechanic opinion as always. I recently bought a 2017 AWD model just like the one in this video with the 2.5 liter and 6 speed auto. Glad I did.
The best ones are the 2009-12 version. I wouldn't buy any RAV4 that hasn't already taken a large depreciation hit; youtube search "Tony Seba technology megatrends" to see why.

I'm confused, is putting 80,000 miles on a car without experiencing a problem supposed to be an accomplishment? I've done that with even my Fords.
@@kingdarius5252 Make that109,000.
I had 2014 RAV4 LE, I put 160K miles no issues . Recently I bought 2024 RAV4 LE Hybrid, acceleration is poor compared to 2014 RAV4.
I absolutely love my 2015 RAV4. Got it used at 50k miles from a single owner and runs so smoothly still. I can’t wait to enjoy the ride for years to come.
Same just bought the rav 4 loving it
@@masternobody1896 ...ditto
Just going put to buy one now! Hopefully 😅
It’s 2024 and I just bought a 2014 Xle awd with 60k. Runs like new. I can’t wait to take it on vacation
Lemme go look."
You remind me of my group of people I hang out with.
The convincing factor for buying it was that the Rav4 design between 2014-2018 models only had recalls for the weight stickers in 4 years.
im thinkin bout buyin a 2020 Rav4
Christopher S Im curious to know his opinion because I just bought a 2020 over the weekend and I'm not sure what to expect here.
I recently rented a 2019 rav4 all wheel drive automatic and i enjoyed driving it.
I've rented them a few times. Great vehicles
That's good to know Fred, I'm taking delivery of my new 2019 RAV4 in a couple of weeks! I can't wait!
We rented one a few years ago and loved it--Until we tested getting into the back seats. They are fine for kids and skinny teenagers. I can't imagine getting into 3rd row seats unless you can be lowered in through the hatch.
@@mpersad that's great i hope you enjoy it
Hugh Brackett If you want a 3rd row seats get a bigger SUV
Happy to hear Scotty! Bought my 2015 rav4 about 8 months ago. Did tons of research and based on my budget this was the best purchase i could have made. If i had more money to spend, I would have just went with a tacoma or a 4runner. 70,000 miles on my rav4 and zero issues! Good gas, good offroad and in the snow, and have towed trailers with it, put full size couches in the back, and has good pickup when i need it!@
3 years later, how's it going with your RAV4. I just bought one used and want to know if there's anything to plan for
@sharonoddlyenough I'm at 140,000 miles, I've done nothing but some brake pads, oil changes, and 1 battery! Still highly reccomend, welcome to the family!
@@SquidNut thanks so much!
I just bought a 2005 (in 2019) with just over 120k miles on it. My first Toyota. I LOVE IT.
How much?
I Have a 2019 Rav 4 XLE premium package since January with all the bells and whistles and not had not one issue. I'm getting 25 to 27 mpg in NYC, 325 to 345 miles in between full ups. This vehicle is beyond my expectation, has all the latest technology. Toyota did a great job with this new Generation of Rav 4's.
Lol they r on recall now

Scotty approves so I approve and I bought one this morning lol
Any problems??? I plan to buy a 2014 model
I bought one yesterday
After driving different fords for over 15 years, got me a RAV4 2015 last year and I’m very happy with it, even more now that Scotty approved 😁
Just got a 2017 Rav4 LE AWD with 60000 miles on it and love it. Same 6 speed trans and the 2.5lt engine . Hope it holds up better than all the Fords and Chevs I've owned. Thank for the advice Scotty!
How’s your rav4 holding up a couple years later? I’m not sure if I want/need awd or front wheel drive.
I bought a 2013 brand new and the only thing I had to replace is Tires, break pads, wiper blades, air filters and oil changes that's it and she still drives like brand new nice and Solid.
What is the milage
AGREED!! I have a 2015 rav4 and love it! My aunt has a 99 rav4 and drives it everyday!! Spent very little on it since she bought it forever ago
Scotty's sons secretly keep their BMWs in their neighbors' garages when dad visits...

😆😅🤣
My wife has a 2014, i have a 2010 with the V6. Love them, very reliable.
Lol I have a 2007 and my wife has a 2012, both V6. Great vehicle.
zkr99 Definitely, they’re so fast for what they are too, i did a 0-60 using An obd2 reader and got 5.75 seconds.
Someone I work with has the same car, was just as surprised as you were when he floored it.
I recently inherited a 2014 silver rav4 le, I love everything about the car except for the road and wind noise.
Love my 2015 Rav 4. Next to my 2003 Grand Marquis, the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I'm 62 and been driving from the age of 15.

Love My 2015 Rav4! Best vehicle I've ever own.Nice to hear it from Scotty!
I have a 2015 Equinox. Wish me luck.
Just got a 2016 RAV4 thanks to you. Thank you for all the wonderful information.
Thanks Scotty! You made me love my 2017 Rav4 even more.
Love my 2021! Only has 160miles on it right now, hope to take it to 500k!
I prefer the tire in the back. I was on a road trip once with the interior full and I got a flat tire. Had to unload everything in the back out before I could take out the spare. And it was drizzling that day.
My dad was deciding on a Lexus GX or the Chevy Tahoe as his daily driver and i showed him your vids and he’s glad he picked the Lexus thanks to you!
Terrence Bennett, Do you know what type of transmission the 2018 Rav 4 has in it. Thank you.
@@09Youba It's a conventional six speed automatic transmission.
Thank you Terrence Bennett for the information. I really appreciate it.

Hahaha! Scotty Toyota. He is right tho, I've been wrenching 25 years and Toyota/ Lexus break the least out of em all.
@@FixIt1975, unless you neglect to properly maintain it, this holds true. Some of my friends' parents have driven Toyotas that have gone well over 300K (hard to believe, but I have photos) and are still running smooth as silk.

I have a 1997 rav4 two door, 214,000 still going love it
Too small for me.
Have you had any problems with it?
Shame the old ones are uglier
I just bought a 2013 limited back in April and absolutely love it!
Do you feel the ride is bumpy ( hard suspension )
@ no not at all. Only complaint I have is that it is kind of slow because it’s not a v6. But otherwise a solid vehicle.
If you want sporty driving buy a sports car,
I drive a 2016, for work. That thing is so smooth. Thumbs up
I am amazed with this vehicle,I bought one for my wife and never had any problems five years.
Toyota from her on out
Got a 2016 RAV4 XLE after watching this video. MY first REAL vehicle purchase, lol. Thanks Scotty I always trust your input.
I have a 2013 rav4 limited 130,000 miles. It is by far the best vehicle I've ever owned. I don't plan ever getting rid of it. The leather seats never appear to age either. Nice looking vehicle.
Scotty does a great job talking with his hands! Great personality and very knowledgeable.
Scotty love the channel.
Just a note:
The Rav4 does not come with third row after 2012. The Hybrid Rav is an AWD Hybrid Camry, comes with the larger 2.5L vs the 1.8L . This gives you 200+ Hp and FtLbs of torque.
All 2013 and up ravs have the 2.5l
Buddyfixit , that was in regards to the hybrid power train. Yes all 2013+ have the 2.5L
Scotty:
I am SOOO glad I found your channel - I can not describe!
This is an exception for many years - to meet such interesting, cheerful and sarcastic person !
Thank you a lot!!!
Best regards,

Love, love, love my 2006 RAV4! It has 196,000 miles. It leaked oil one time......it was a seal! No other problems. Still looks great and drives great. I will be replacing it with another one.
Just got a 2015 RAV4 Limited with 60k miles. Love it. Took me 6 months to find one that wasn’t overpriced or beat to hell.
This just reassured my purchase. I got a 2016 rav4 used. Thank you for the awesome video!
I know I could do 1,000,000 km with "Sorry for my English, I'm French Canadian!"
Greating from Quebec !!!
They're sleepers...the 2GRFE engines are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I actually really liked the old style door that opened outward, and the v6 was no joke either you would be shocked at the power That little SUV had, I also feel like they cheapened the newer one up and some respects they don't have the LED tail lights in the rear anymore in the old RAVs used to have some kind of rough material at the bottom for stone chips and rust proofing that the new ones don't have
I liked the "ugly" spare on the back
at least it was a full size tyre.
Me too , why I got the older mk3 with one
Me too.🙂
Me too I'll take any RAV4 my wife has a 2013 she loves it won't let me drive it.
Any problems now ?
My 2018 only gets 28-29 mpg on the highway. Ran it from Dallas to central Illinois and back this week. Bought the second from the lowest of the line, 6 speed auto. All in all it's a good vehicle.
I love the tire on the back. Much easier to change a tire without emptying the back of the car on a trip.
Good to hear
I own a 2012. Love the tire in the back. Plenty of space to hide things under back rear. Tire takes up storage space. Bought it used in 2014. No issues. I still have under 100k miles.
I just bought 2015 RAV4 Limited. It was very well taken care of. Inside looks brand new.
I have the ‘15 Rav4 and it just made it to 50k a few days ago, soon to be 5 years with it. I love it a lot
Keep it as long as you can!!
Paul Hoskins will do, and I’m probably also gonna keep my 08 Corolla for a few more years too
Ours has 106k and still running smooth as the first day we bought it 2015.
Scotty, the previous model wasn't ugly, that spare wheel looked very good, was a full size spare and it gave it the classic 4x4 suv look.
I have used RAV 4 2016, 2.51 500 000 Km with small fixes and still good.......best car ever for me.
I like when it had the tire at the back. It added character and looked more offroady. :)
Sporty look.

I just inherited a 2016 Rav 4 SE with 23,007 miles.
My 2014 XA40, @ 66k miles, has been almost perfect. The only “major repair” was the a/c blower replaced…$70 and about an hour and a half of my time versus the $395 the stealership was charging. Great wagon, good power, very well built.
66k is PRETTY LOW MILEAGE😊.
2013 Rav 4 Limited. 139000 miles. Changed tires 2x; door locks and the regular maintenance. Planning to keep it 2 more years
I just traded in my 17 Chrysler 300c for a 16 rav4 limited awd. I’m taking your word on this one, Scotty, since I do a lot of driving. I’ve never heard anyone say bad things about Toyota’s- atleast the properly maintained ones.
Thanks to scotty I saved thousands by only buying Toyota vehicles
If Honda has transmission like Toyota then Scotty will love Honda more.
Honda transmission are strong I got a Honda Odyssey 2005 with 200000 miles on it and still got the original transmission original engine
@Yar Nunya He's talking about automatic transmissions
That's funny. The 5-speed in my 2003 Honda Pilot never had to get replaced for as long as my family's had it.

Spot on
My 15 years old RAV4 got 35 mpg city and 50 mpg on highway, tuned to 185 bhp. 230,000 miles, standard maintenance, going strong. No reason to buy new fluffy one.
I’m so grateful and happy about Rav 4 design...I bought a 2000 RAV4 L, 5 speed manual trans in 2001,
it had 14k miles, and now near 20 years later it’s had zero problems. Zero.
I really appreciated the problem-free nature of Rav4.
Now it has racked up 208k miles, and all I’ve ever repaired is brakes, battery,
tires, just the usual maintenance, and even forgot to change oil on time occasionally.
This vehicle is truly bulletproof.
My only regret is didn’t find one with leather upholstery,
as my dogs and kids throughout the years have done upholstery wear,
and other regret is that I never upgraded the sound system.
(Minor things and unrelated to performance or durability.)
I’m thinking I’ll drive it to 300k and consider buying another!
It’s been a great car for hauling and the roof racks have held
huge items.

Outstanding professional mechanic opinion as always. I recently bought a 2017 AWD model just like the one in this video with the 2.5 liter and 6 speed auto. Glad I did.
This is my car for the last 3 years. It's a workhorse of a car, super reliable, great handling, it's always there when I need it.

The best ones are the 2009-12 version. I wouldn't buy any RAV4 that hasn't already taken a large depreciation hit; youtube search "Tony Seba technology megatrends" to see why.
I don’t mind the spare tire on the back at all.
Safer if someone rear ends you
