Great - wishing the best! Once you look for it / you see it in almost everything around :) count your blessings and gratitude and so on! Core of so called “religions” is the same .. the people who want to harvest power or use power have narrowed it down! Else Sunday church or Sunday temple or whatever is always useful!

It's time FINALLY to publically confirm unity of all living beings. The culture has chosen to consciously hide truth. As a 12 year old kid in Quebec, i once got lost in the bush. I wandered for about 3 hrs and was becoming really scared, when I looked up and saw this dead stand with 1 branch still attached to it, pointing in a direction. In my mind a voice said follow that direction. Thirty min later, I came out of the bush in the exact same place I entered. Now I live in the bush full time with no guns. I have lots of friends now, but I need to focus more on developing friends that walk on two.

I have experienced something simular. Got lost in the woods at 13. This was an afternoon in november, in Sweden, and it got dark quick. I found a house by following a voice and got help from a blind lady who lived there with her blind dog! Got to use her phone so I could call home. It turned out I was almost at the home of a friend of my fathers without knowing it. (And that is a picture of my cat 😂)

The exercise where you imagine yourself surrounded by love, guidance, and community is incredibly emotionally powerful. I felt an immediate sense of relief-that my problems were shrinking and that I knew exactly what I needed to do to be happy and fulfilled.
Also, the idea that the heart should make big life decisions, while the head should figure out how to get there is such a beautiful and clarifying idea. That is, when we know what our higher self needs to be truly fulfilled and how we can make the biggest positive impact on other conscious beings, then we can devise clear, stepwise, logical plans of how to get there.
I loved this episode and immediately bought Dr. Miller’s book. Thank you.

This is why birth charts can be helpful, they are a nice framework for how you might experience your life, and a helpful guide to activities you may find enjoyable. In an ideal world every child would be given a birth chart on their first day of school and then observed to see if their characteristics match with their descriptors. It would also be nice to give children a much wider breadth if activities and hobbies to try for free/in school so that their creativity might be allowed to flourish

I've never left a comment here before but was totally compelled to before the episode was even finished, and saw a number of others all saying the same thing; that this talk is one of the best I've heard in a long time, & Lisa Miller's work is super important.. especially as someone who's clearly sought awakened awareness at that young adult stage, & dealt with multiple periods of suicidal despair.
I'm looking forward to engaging further with her work once I do finish the episode :)

Same! I’m not even sure how I came across this episode while driving on a road trip but I’m so happy I did. This was so powerful! That exercise she did with your higher self and those present or not, made me cry. But it made me realize how we can tap into all of our relations, ourselves, higher selves and higher power at any given moment. I needed this, and i will continue to look out for her work along with these episodes. Life changing! 🙌🏼

We are programmed meat robots inside a Matrix , If you look at the function of all the organs of the body, including the brain, you will find that all the organs of the body have an automatic function, including heart rate, gastrointestinal tract and blood flow, and brain function! Now, if we assume that there is free will and that we are the product of this process, we must be able to explain how, as consciousness, 100 billion neurons interact with each other to produce a thought, in fact no human knows what is going on inside their brain When a thought is produced, the only thing we understand from the thought and what is produced inside our brain is the image and sound that the brain produces, the brain automatically adds our thoughts to our vision! Thinking is like a transparent curtain that adds an extra layer of information to our vision, we see our thoughts but they do not exist in front of us! It is the human ability to see things that do not exist outside of the human body in the Matrix ! The body-mind problem (Illusion of freewill) occurs in the humans when the nervous system get contracted, when this happens the thought process automatically begins to think! And since most people have more or less nervous system contractions, they have this extra thought in mind. ! And in the long run, these thoughts almost become an additional operating system, and it decides for itself and gets the person in trouble! This extra operating system is the same 'I' that everyone has but does not have an external existence. If the nervous system calms down, this extra thought process automatically stops when this 'I' or visual curtain is removed, awareness and Understanding is not of the body, consciousness in the human form it sees itself as somebody and it is separate from the function of the body! The human body is essentially part of nature or simulation, and we experience the world as consciousness through a mediator who is our body! In this simulation, everything is pre-planned, because all human beings are part of the simulation, and in fact, in this simulation, there is really no one, except a consciousness and a running simulation!
All thoughts are extra thoughts, because life is a predetermined simulation! People get lost is their own story and this makes different level of consciousness in the societies, and somehow people at some level get stuck or programmed and they live with it, that’s why a small group of people are controlling the most of humans! It’s because of the consciousness level exist between humans ! It’s physical and mental together! The physical part is related to the normal circulation of the a liquid called CSF in the human spine, and it’s mental affect on the human mind and how brain is working! CSF is one Molecule away from sea water, one of its function is to wash the brain and regulate the brain activity! We are living in a time that most people are dealing with some type of muscle or body spasms, and this unbalance the spine, and if this unbalance become so high, the normal circulation of the CSF will decrease, until it could get completely blocked! If this happens somehow human consciousness get disconnected from its source, and start living as a mind story, or locally! This could make lots of mental and physical issues for some people+Repetitive thoughts, or self talking all the time! Bringing back the normal balance of the spine will circulate the CSF normally and thing get changed! For some people this release could be a nerve on their hand, some other body area! Human nervous system is like a tree, and this Stuckness could be at any body part!
      This complete My Big Toe
Theory by Thomas Campbell, and Donald D. Hoffman theories ( consciousness is fundamental)!CSF is the medium for Consciousness to enter the human body and if the normal circulation of CSF get blocked, the brain start working locally and consciousness experience the life as a mind story or a separate I !

Rich, I think you nailed it when you mentioned spiritual trauma being problematic for many people within the context of 12 steps. I grew up with 10 others kids in a religious cult where we were all severely abused. Because all the forms of often very violent abuse were constantly and thoroughly justified through spiritual and religious dogma, it shouldn’t be surprising that the underlying premises of powerlessness and the unmanageability of our own lives in 12 steps could feel super disempowering and confusing for us.
When I tried 12 steps as a last resort for my own struggle with addiction, the need for the admission of powerlessness to be the precursor to further healing felt a lot like another attempt to convince me that my suffering is not only my responsibility, but also my fault. I immediately knew that neither that premise nor identifying as an addict without also identifying fully as a child of God, was not helpful for me. That said, I feel extremely grateful to have also quickly recognized that the sense of connectedness to a loving community and the principles of total honesty and service embedded in 12 steps would be crucial takeaways for my own journey toward spiritual wholeness and sobriety.
I’m not sure that everyone who develops addiction does so because of trauma. However, because SO many people who struggle with addiction and severe mental illness in their adult lives have developed them as a means to survive the psychological and spiritual devastation of abuse in childhood, it isn’t helpful to discount the unique problems that 12-steps’ modern methodology still presents for them-especially if they can benefit so much from many other spiritual principles of the program.
Perhaps both for addicts with and without serious childhood trauma, it would be more accurate and helpful for 12 steps to help us all identify addiction more precisely as a strategy we have used to remain spiritually disconnected-not as evidence of our innate powerlessness because we are diseased addicts. I don’t think you or Dr Miller would disagree with that, but I can tell from this conversation that these serious issues within 12 steps’ current language are probably not as clear to either of you, perhaps because you haven’t personally endured childhood abuse.
With all that said, this episode was incredibly cathartic and inspiring for me. I have never been more motivated to continue the difficult work of healing from spiritual trauma and the spiritual disconnection I maintained for many years through addiction. Thank you both more than I can say for sharing this.

Oh my goodness! when she tells the story of the person suffering from schizophrenia, I also asked a direct question of a dear one who was similarly diagnosed, at the age of 17, and he spoke directly and lucidly to me that yes, he does choose that other world we label schizophrenia because it made more sense than our shared world as it is. He was sober, clear, and answered me directly - this is the FIRST story I have heard from a doctor since that moment in 1997 that has validated that experience. Powerful opportunity to choose awakening from our trauma.

I totally agree I wrote a spiritual book called " Remember Who You Truly Are ..love unlimited " from 40 years of observation on many levels . I was a teacher .I spent 20 years teaching tens of thousands of children to meditate I was blown away with what I saw Children who were adhd etc com0letely calm.again The smiles and just the energy in the room would calm down instantly, other teachers in the room who may have llaughed joined in Children l as young as 7 saing I taught this to my mother and brothers etc ..I did so much circle time with children ..Yes inner awareness is profound We have lost the connection lost the heart centre in society I used to see everyone hugging where I live connecting the heart energy, we need that back again..When we have children we nurture the heart of our chld instinctively.Depression is often the liver energy push down movement dancing singing ..etc are needed back..We thrive through heart connection.Wonderful interview I hope we listen to her and to ourselves we know what we need Be the light in a world full of madness and chaos and ripple it to your neighbour I have coached thousands of adults by connecting to the heart and my intuitive mind Wecare so much more when we realise we are not just data driven humans. We cannot switch off our living hearts Intuition is the highest form of intelligence love is the highest power unconditional love. Deep connection is the way we survived ancestrally. Not everything is modelling animals and nature do not thrive through logic they just know. Great podcast !!

Donald, I could be mistaken, but I think she said to clear inner space with 5 breaths, then set a table before you-your table, and invite anyone, living or deceased who truly has or had your best interest in mind to the table. I didn’t hear her say to invite 5 people. I invited 3, and that worked beautifully. I think even one or two would have. As time goes on and life changes, you/I may well choose to invite different people to our table...

Thank you both for sharing this beautiful and loving conversation. I whole heartedly agree with everything Dr. Miller expresses here, and I am in the process of writing a children's book to remind our little ones of their unique and inner guidance. It took me well into my 50's to truly love myself, which happened once I became a student of quantum physics, law of attraction, epigenetics, and wanting to understand my spiritual connection. Now I see the world through the lens of love and compassion, and I no longer need another to behave a certain way...I love unconditionally and embrace everyone's differences...and life has never been better. I long to share what I have learned, and am passionate in helping others connect to their innate inner guidance. Perhaps some of my videos can help others as they reawaken their inner voice. Thank you for spreading the love and opening up the world to the power of our heart, for the heart is how we express our true being.

Maria Montessori was working on this before the word "cognition" was a thing. She was chronologically ahead of Piaget and Vygotsky. I wish more people would read her work The Absorbent Mind, which is precisely about the "spiritual child", and take her pedagogy seriously. But this is an amazing synthesis of a broad range of ideas about conscious awareness. Thank you Dr. Good luck with your work!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS. THANK-YOU LISA MILLER and RICH ROLL. This is spot on, clear, comprehensive, inclusive, inspiring, and ABSOLUTELY necessary. Love can be taught. Everyone gets it/has it/is IT. I KNOW. I had the opportunity to prove it in a giant human lab for over a decade (Wise Practice: Affective Education in the Inner City). Discipline referrals dropped. Test scores rose. One Friday afternoon a guest observed my class. He was a policeman who had spent weeks traveling the country looking for solutions in regards to the ‘over representation of the young African Male Population in our prison system. He observed at when my class ended, he said to me, “I was really upset when the took God out of schools but when I walked in hear today, I felt God.” People love love, especially our young. And when they are taught simple skills of mutual support, respect, and connection, they flourish… they KNOW and they grow strong and happy. Our culture squelches spirit out of us. ‘Ugly’ behavior has become normalized to the point of common acceptance. It broke my heart so I chose to live in another country and culture that supports and aligns with my belief….where LOVE guides the day and a way of life. And I have had a front row seat of suffering to the ravages of addiction, depression, and anxiety. Pervasive. Pandemic levels. It’s time for folks to step up, wake up, and BE NICE.

While I enjoyed this podcast, I found it counterintuitive to speak about the pentagon and US military, knowing what these institutions are inherently responsible for, while speaking of deep connection, human love, and bonding...that is the "glue in the army family" (49:50). Well what about the other side then? If these qualities were indeed embodied, is there a need to have a military stuck in a cycle of endless war and perpetual "othering" in the first place? 🤔

“Trauma is a catalyst for growth!” Indeed, as suffering often is for future opportunity and personal strength. Unfortunately it’s exaCtly what you say,…unless you were so very fortunate to have been shown/taught by example and communication in your family home or per unusual circumstances, you might feel very alone. This ephemeral truth of connection is within all of us when we ‘arrive’, it’s the true nature of our Being. Looking back on our lifetimes and others, we see over and over again, how challenges and suffering will guide you back to that if you listen and surrender to what you innately know to be true.
Our minds can be an endless chatterbox of our fears and past failures, so loud that we miss the perfection of our daily breath, warmth of the sun, that we have a glass of water. I’m new to RR’s podcast, but the 3 I’ve
listened to have been enlightening, and have passed along to family and friends. It used to be word of mouth, a letter or phonecall,…to share something special, but how generously wonderful to press ‘Forward’ and Send such news as this. It’s a stirring, awakening time. Feels like we’re on such a precipice of change, after a long hike uphill. I sense many people embracing compassion and unity.
As a grandmother, I am grateful to be patient in learning this new tool of technology, attaining the ability to access the hearts and minds of those that care, and taking the time to help others. 🙏

I had been wandering alone in the assumption that Spiritualty, or my EXPERIENCE as it relates to it, was delusional. This idea almost always met with dismissive and maladaptive diagnostic feedback (prescriptions, DSM marked psychological defects, alienation, gossip, on so the list goes); and was invalidating and lonely.
What I couldn't articulate verbally, my deepest sense of wholistic survival knew. Science, the method and Spirituality, the 6th sense I guess you could maybe call it are not infinitely separate, but linear, rather they overlap and intertwine. Is real! My life's highest belief isn't worthless nor is it delusional!💫
This podcast probably did, rephrase that; DID save my life. Suicide or some terminal end was at most 6 months away (to my core I could sense it coming).
What indescribable prophets you BOTH are to all living beings! I celebrate you, your passions and your time on earth. A legacy of deep understanding of oneself in relation to all things living has been interrupted by human ego. It's been tragic and far too lengthy. THIS is a MOVEMENT and I think millions, if not billions of people feel in tune with it. Thank you endlessly! 🩵🪻🫧🪶🪳⏳🗝️♾️

This is not a challenge but a sincere question . How did the term “ wokeness” become a negative thing. Her talk is even about the Awakened Brain. It seems to have ones eyes open , to be awake is a what we need today. We have been lulled into sleep, numbed by drugs, alcohol, materialism etc. I celebrate people waking up. Waking up is not political. It’s spiritual.
      🙏🙏

    • @davesimmons5217
      @davesimmons5217 2 года назад +4

@@northcountry9095 - the answer is trans-humanism. That’s why it is a negative term. People of this generation are divorced from ontology. They don’t know who or what brings all that surrounds them into being. They just want to transfer out of their discomfort and don’t want to examine anything. They lack the awareness that the discomfort is part of the growth pattern that leads to proper being.
So they say “I’m uncomfortable being a male, I want to be female” Then a length of time after their transition, they find the discomfort returns, only to realize they made a mistake. They should have leaned into that discomfort instead and they would have discovered nature was already doing the work of their transformation.
We are not awakening. We are falling asleep. The “Meta-verse” is building the fantasy matrix not leading us out of it. Pay attention! People are forcing their delusions onto others now and canceling them if they don’t comply. We are FAR from awake!!!

    • @michaelk1589

Awakening =/= "Awokening" . I just realised that psychopaths ruling the world are giving the "wokeness" movement as a means to fill the spiritual void that comes with puberty that Lisa spoke about. They have first brainwashed the massess, the parents so that they're not capable of guiding their children after they start the individuation process (problem), now they have created a reaction to this (world is getting mad) and preseting a solution that is purely evil since it sells communist/nihilist/authoritarian/narcissistic way of thinking as solution to emptiness of people. They're literally taking over the souls of people and twisting them into "woke" propaganda vehicles. And this lady is kinda unwillingly helping them I guess.

The literature of 12 step programs have taught all of this for eighty years. Unfortunately the stigma of addiction and the intellectualization of spirituality has distorted the beauty of this life saving program. Recovering from addiction is acknowledging the trauma and pain of life, its causes and conditions, and building a daily practice, with a support system, that empowers the individual. I loved that 'the opposite of suppression is expression.' These simple jewels are the treasures. I hope no-one is offended if I say, from my heart, may the God of your understanding bless you all and bring you to your inner peace.

I can remember if it was greece or rome where their military was encourage to have relationships with one another and bc of that people had stronger bonds with one another and would die defending one another. It encourages a cohesive oneness that from a militaristic standpoint is an advantage to have and would have less deserters. I dont think the military is inviting her for the sake of love and peace.

Well, army is a cult of blind obedience and implementing a supernatural binding agent in the 'brotherhood' of soldiers of one faction is kind of amplifier of potential to do unimaginably inhumane acts to 'brotherhood' of other faction of soldiers. Its like creating a cult withing cult, binding it stronger. Since soldiers are just muscles of military- industrial - pharmaceutical complex, empowering them in any way will with high probability end up badly for humanity. If anyone thinks soldiers are there to do good then please read "War is a Racket" by Smedley Butler - one of most highly decorated generals in history. This lady might just be helping to create monster of unimaginable proportions!
