The Georgetown Loop Railroad runs on a narrow gauge rail line formerly used by the Colorado & Southern Railroad that goes around in a loop. It was built back way in 1884. They some rail equipment from various narrow gauge railroads. Such as their now currently operable steam locomotives, those being Georgetown Loop Railroad 40 (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1920) and Georgetown Loop Railroad 111 (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1926) that were originally used for the International Railways of Central America.

Thank you for your feedback, the GTLRR is currently in the process of upgrading and standardizing the PA system throughout it’s rail cars. Soon every car will be able to be adjusted individually.

Something to really think about while going to the Georgetown Loop RR. or any preservation railroad is what you are riding on. There is former White Pass & Yukon equipment, Denver & Rio Grande Western Equipment, and operating steam locomotives. Each one of these engines have a story and a place in history and to have them still operating is a miracle and a testament to the importance and power of the steam locomotive. They’re ere what built this country and the world. When you go, don’t expect an entertaining narrative or a real spectacular ride. Appreciate the history you’re riding on, look into the engines more. Don’t go for the entertainment, go for the history.

Thanks for the great comment. It's very easy to lose sight of the history with these type of attractions.
