I just did this , this morning. The original light assy on my 2015 TACO used (2) T20 Hex screws... I am probably going to find some different / longer screws to mount it. I feel like the T20 screws are just not long enough for aftermarket lights. Other than that the installation took only 20 min !
I'm pretty sure that foam was supposed to be removed to reveal the adhesive to seal the hole.
You just saved yourself and every viewer $400 from the dealer's service center.
Probably a good idea to tape off around the area you put acetone on so u don’t ruin your paint, but other than that great video
I have never had a problem using acetone on paint for quick clean-ups. I am not sure if it would soften it up if you let a saturated rag sit in the same spot for very long but for a quick wipe downs cured paint stands up fine.
@@737mechanic thanks for the advice man I’ve always had the understanding that it would peel up paint but I guess you learn a thing or two everyday. I just used goof off to be safe although it did take a bit longer
@@x72noscopez63 40 percent of goof off is acetone and 60 percent is Methyl acetate which is as harsh as acetone but has a lower odor and flash point.

has anyone experienced any water filtration? I'm not sure if weather sealant should be necessary
You need it
yes, threw mine on around 4 months ago. just found out it was leaking today. backseat was soaked. went to homedepot bought me some silicone sealant and it's all good now. make sure you really watch it tho, not hard to mold the headliner!
Shit. The mf s brake light worked already. My problem is that my 3rd brake light doesn't work period. And the d.asses new 3 brake light doesn't match his 1 and 2.
I didn't understand a word you said.
How have these held up over the past 9 months? My main concern is leaking I guess, not many options out there that are reliable
So far so good.
Did you get the xtool D9?
No not yet, I have the D8BT. The D9 is on the list.
Great job and video!
Nice video. I need to replace the 3rd brake light regular bulbs on my Tacoma, could you or anyone tell me the part number of the bulbs?
Here are regular incandescent.
