The director(Chris Cooper)a fine actor himself and the editing allows things to unfold as they do in life. Bet many younger people find it all too slow. I feel a little sad for them. This is a VERY fine film on many levels.
I'm young and love this movie. To me, it's slow but you don't lose attention. Every scene is so immersive. Outstanding acting, cinematography, sound design, etc..
This is much after the western hemisphere has been plagued by the European countries who pushed and tricked tribes. Much like the Roman’s did to the surrounding tribes.
When will America come full circle on this unforgivable stoic act of aggression & greed at the cost of an incredible diverse spiritual warrior civilisation…still undermined even as I write this in favour of cheese burgers, civil liberties & oil
Spend some of that oil, eat a cheeseburger on the trip, and exercise your civil liberties to make the journey to see the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota. Read the inscription on the monument there, and hold close your own honored dead. Hold tight the living loved ones beside you on your journey. These actors pay homage to an ideal which is not dead, so long as we can emulate their actions, and choose honor over comfort. Very respectfully yours, Alan

Made a mistake in that Chris Cooper(who became a director along with being an actor) was not the director of this fine film.
Give them time, they will catch up lol.
This was directed by Scott Cooper, who also directed “Antlers,” “Black Mass” and “Crazy Heart.”
Yes, I realize my mistake and apologize to Mr. Scott Cooper.

Bale and Studi... brilliant
Dedication, honor and sense of duty over personal pride and feelings.
One of the Greatest Movies in my 58 Years of Life. Christian Bale has done the best!
Well said, sir! 👍
Redemption... one word to describe the movie.
Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike. What a fine combo and what a fine film.

..It's not the tribe or nation that is evil...but basically it depends on the humans themselves...a film with a beautiful setting...👍
a movie that is well beyond brilliant in every aspect ... scenic beauty, superb script, excellent acting, life lessons, etc. ... 11/10 !!!

Sounds like a roundabout way to dismiss the genocide of Native Americans.
@@Lost_Hwasal certainly may be interpreted that way ... please see Seminole Wind by John Anderson !!!
Absolutely!
Good theatre.
