I remember someone saying that after Frank Sinatra died , when he got to heaven and met with Sammy and Dean, Heaven would never be the same. I imagine that when Kris got to Heaven and saw Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, Heaven got a little wild. Now, the three are just waiting for Willie.
Ah, this one hits hard. Kris indeed was one of a kind. I'm glad they included the clip with his many varied life experiences, a unique collection rolled up in one human. I met him once, when he and Jane Fonda were filming the movie Rollover. They shot on my college campus for three days (the architecture inside the student union had arches that resembled a Saudi palace when repainted for the film). Kris was nice enough to come out and meet with gathered fans, sign autographs, be accessible. He seemed to relish the experience, as did we. Condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and fans. RIP Kris.💔
Kristofferson was of the great writers, in any medium. A limited but compelling singer who delivered his songs better than anyone else did them and held your attention with the simple quality and emotion of his work. Unassuming and fearless and real. It's great to see this clip, thank you for posting it.
When we lose someone of this caliber, it makes me realize that no matter the legacy left, we will all walk through Death’s door. That is so hard for me to accept. I am 57yrs old right now, and I certainly don’t feel like I have been here that long. Then the realization hits that before we know it we will be at the door. I will miss you Kris. Condolences to the family.
The greatest lyricist in the past 60 years. I saw him in Albuquerque a few years ago. There have been only a handful of performers I would pay to see. He was one. Farewell, Mr. Kristofferson. Thank you for being my 1st "English teacher" when I was 13 (I'm now 65). This song still makes me laugh out loud.
