    Hey , thanks for the video, was working on my neighbour's trimmer and i was stumped. You saved me a lot of time.

    My WBT was running wide open but the linkage appeared to be working properly. After seeing you bend the arm I realized that my problem was the reverse of yours. Bent it to the rear of the machine and the governor worked again. I subscribed as soon as I got back to the computer. Thanks.

    You saved me with the governor tab being bent . Thanks!

    I have found that there are several carbs for the string mower and the connections are different. I finally found instructions for the one I have and it works fine. Hard restarting when hot. Possibly new coil??? Coil resistance seems stable.

      Check resistance on spark plug cap, I had one over 10k ohms of resistance and spark failed when hot. ruclips.net/video/ejAX6Bn4WSo/видео.html

    To change the oil there is a bolt 🔩 underneath so you can drain it fully .

    Looks like I missed the part I was looking for. How do you actually remove and replace a broken throttle cable?

  • @sheri023
    @sheri023 2 года назад

    Great info, thanks. That was why my trimmer wasn't choking. The throttle cable control housing had slipped and wasn't engaging. The little sleeve holding the rubber tubing in place had come undone and had to be crimped back onto the tubing inside the control lever housing.

    Good day Interesting video. I always thought engines run around 3200-3600, but never knew torque was at 2600. Thanks for now. They do work nice.

    A friend has one of these. Engine was slightly smoking on it. Let me know the exact type of air filter on it and if it needs either more oil (or an oil change). Thanks.

    What stops that throttle tab from vibrating back into the low rpm range? I have a metal Topside oil extractor like that. ... Love it.

    In your case was the throttle cable in the way of getting the air cleaner cover off. Just picked up a used one, and mine is.

    • @sheri023
      @sheri023 2 года назад

      I removed the screw on top and to the front to the little linkage cover and the one screw of the filter cover. Then I used a small pliers to crimp the black plastic tip of the cable tubing so it backed up thru the little metal half circle, then it was out of the way of the filter cover. The filter cover has just a couple of bottom tabs and you can wiggle the cover up. The cable tubing and wire is easy to push back thru the metal semicircle bracket. It will still be attached at the wire linkage, no need to take it off there. I had the throttle in the off position when I did that.

    Excellent video. I’m glad I came across it. I have a question that I hope you can answer. I actually have two of these machines, one is brand new but it’s missing some parts. That bottom handle that the upper handle attaches to where it has the two silver grip things and that silver steel rod running from one side to the other, I’m missing that lower handle and I missing one of those gripping device things. I don’t know what they’re called. I also need to replace the mount where the cutting string attaches to as one of the clips that holds the string is broken off on one of them. Where can I buy parts for these? Any idea? In your video you said you listed all part numbers below, but I guess I’m trying to look at the forest through the trees and I can’t see it, lol any help would be appreciated.

      Check to make sure you have a belt keeper installed, some fall off when the bolt that holds them on loosen off.

    Beautiful, checked out the power curve you showed and looks like the 6.75 ftlbs (engine spec.) torque is around 3100 to 3200 rpm so you are right on the money and the machine sounds great at high rpm.

    • @EliminatorPerformance

      You can't buy Craftsman anymore as they declared bankruptcy, but you may be able to get them in the US still.
      Cub Cadet makes these walk behind trimmers though, you could check that out, they are owned by MTD so essentially the same as this Craftsman!
