I've watched your content for the past several years, and I would like to say this is easily the best production value on any of your content I've ever seen. The audio is great, the B roll footage is dynamic and plentiful, and the subtle zooming in and out of the talking head portion was well done. Ya'll have clearly done your homework so now I'm sitting here taking notes. Well done!
Thank you for providing us with the most insightful and straight-forward discgolf content on RUclips! Sometimes the legal terms gets quite overwhelming, especially for us who doesn't have English as our first language, but I can see you put some hard work into making the content understandable for everyone. Keep it up!
I find this channel to be the most informative of them all. This is not to suggest the other channels are not informative or entertaining. The content, insight, and execution in this one, however, beats them all IMHO. I think everyone interested in disc golf should follow this channel because it illuminates fundamental issues that others do not cover.
If I wasn’t so entrenched in my fed career of nearly 18 years, practicing law with your firm seems like it would be a blast. And if I didn’t live so far away in Montana, I’d drop by for a round of disc golf to chat about current law and contract issues. Great channel!!
As an independent artist I understand the fear from this economic strangeness. It’s paralleled my industry too. A boom time during Covid, but the past 18 months have been bad. I understand the player’s frustration with having to travel around the country to do a job that seems less secure than ever. I do essentially the same thing by traveling to art festivals. The ones that will make it are the ones who bring something unique. That could be exceptional play that consistently puts you on the podium, like Missy Gannon, or personality and willingness to engage with fans via social media like a Chantelle Budinski or Erica Stinchcomb. Manufactures just don’t see the benefits of sponsoring players otherwise. And until tournament and Disc Golf Network sponsorships and advertising becomes more valuable, there won’t be enough money to go around as tournament payouts to support those payers who aren’t among a handful at the top or are building a fan base on their own. But one thing players need to get going on now is forming a players union, because if money does start flowing into the sport again they need to be in a place of strength so that they get a fair share of this entertainment property that is built on their skills and hard work.
I'm under the assumption that making contracts public, especially the bigger ones, it is in the best interest for the players as a whole. Also like other sports league make a minimum pay to players. Probably the players need to form a union.
I think it would be wise to eliminate Tour Cards completely. The DGPT is apparently not doing well financially like we all assumed. They need bodies at each event. More bodies means more $$ coming in. Every event should be an Open. I would only broadcast the final round of each event. I would also reduce the number of events and make it a shorter season. Some players that are mid-low tier players will find it harder to remain on Tour because they simply cannot afford to. There will be players that will be forced to work a regular full-time job back home, and save that money so they can go tour for about 4-6 months of the year.
If anyone ever drops a non-compete clause into a contract I'm looking at, then I go back to them, pointing out that the clause is completely unenforceable unless there is a substantial payment each year associated with it. Without such payments, there is nothing which is truly enforceable in any court I am aware of. If you don't want someone doing something you don't want, then you have to pay them not to do it. Simple. Each time I have gone back to a company wanting me to sign a non-compete, they have removed it from the contract, because they wouldn't pay me to sign it.
!!! Wait !!! There's Easter Eggs in these videos??? Like Rickey having a Tourney Stamped Discraft Zone in his Bathroom sink while wearing a Ohio State Buckeyes jersey before the Cotton Bowl game ???
People were touring and loving it way before all the dgpt and Covid nonsense. See they loved the game, the lifestyle and community. Then players started getting big contracts and it made others jump on tour hoping they were next. But it died and they missed out. But guess what? People who love the game will still tour. They will still embrace the dg tour lifestyle. All the folks who got into it for money will disappear and dg will go back to being great, like it was before all the dgpt, dgn, Covid crap. This new era, which is honestly just a return to dg Normality, will be awesome
This has become a "must watch" channel for me. Love to see new content appear in my feed.

Always great content 😊

Can't wait to enjoy your new content.
You guys rock! Thanks for all the great discussions
Impressive production quality! I'm excited for the remaining videos in this series.
Thanks for the sort of shout out at 5:36 😆 DISC East is in two weekends and DISC South is in Dallas the first weekend in March! See you all soon!
Most thoroughly composed disc golf channel!
For a channel as smart and dignified as this one, the thumbnail of a dumpster fire is beneath it.

As always, quality content.
This channel is like finding an adult nonmanchild that you can have an actual disc golf related intellectual discussion with.
Much love ⚖️🥏
the thing I am most looking forward to in disc golf for 2025 is the new "go throw tour". cant wait to see how everything develops and works out!

Same. Retired jag, now full time disc golfer.

Pdga blew it with the Nathan case. No sympathy here.

No bigger story than a man in FPO
