Sounds great! My father-in-law just bought a jeep gladiator and I’m buying a 77 series k&N CAI for his birthday tomorrow. He’s gonna be so excited. I have one on my jeep and he loves it.
Maybe a silly question. But if your jeep is manual, how are the RPMs dropping so quickly? I bought a 2018 JL 3.6L Manual and between shifts the RPMs take their sweet time on their way down to complete the shift. Yours is like a sports car compared to my shifts.
Sounds a lot better man! Over the years I’ve been surprised how much better having only adding an intake makes such a difference bc I usu think the exhaust to be the first mod. I just got myself a 23 2door Sport S manual as well. Don’t know if I have the guts to tinker with it bc of warranty stuff but maybe down the line!!! And glad to see others with a 2door as well lol. Hopefully we will see a video about exhaust. Keep up the good work. I subbed about a month ago and greetings from small town central fl ✌️
from what i understand there is a secondary battery on the JL for the auto start stop system underneath the first, id disconnect that one too, at least before doing any electrical work.
You basically created an echo chamber and defeated the factory cold air intake for a hot air intake. Dyno tests show a drop of about 15hp doing so. Thanks for sharing though. Enjoyed the video.
from a really well working cold air intake that's perfectly designed put onto a car thats computer has the ability to adapt to in terms of proper air fuel ratio adjustments at all engine loads and rpms you might get between 2-5% increase in HP. usually those 20 hp over stock numbers you see from air intake claims come from vehicles that already have hundreds of HP more than a jeep. or they have other supporting mods like exhausts , tuning , intake manifolds , maybe even cams. i bought the banks Ram Air intake for mine and a MBRP. exhaust hopefully together they will maybe make an additional 10hp. I myself am mostly looking for sound as well , its also a manual and i cant stand how quiet it is. Im used to riding motorcycles. you dont drive with a tach or by looking at gauges , you drive by feel and sound , and the Jeep lacks enough sound and feel to accomplish that.
Are you still liking it? I'm looking at one of these for mine. It is helpful that you have the manual transmission, like mine has. I've got a Magnaflow axle back exhaust that sounds GREAT, so I'm thinking this would make it sound even better! Let me know if you add an exhaust to it, too! From what I can tell on the video, it sounds really good!
so its been a year how has it held up just fine i would assume? ive been debating kandn and valorant. valorant filters are set and forget they last over 100k miles.
@@mrreneboy yeah i was so confused why did he take off everyone else seem like they dont remove the grill. I taken off the airbox to run my winch cables and never had to take off the grill.
Driven Mad! Thought that might be the case! No 3.6l in the UK so had to go with the 2.0l. Decently quick off the mark, just doesn’t sound great. And no problem, great videos mate 👍
Kevin strickland mainly just throttle response. But I also hardly ever floor it since it’s a Jeep haha but mainly sound and throttle response is the only noticeable difference. Maybe slight increase in power above 4500RPM. Thanks for watching!
Your logic is off...there's a really good reason to have a k&n air filter if you go off-road... in fact that would be one of the main reasons to have one... because your subjected to more dust and you'll need to change or clean your filter more often....
Sure enhanced the sound of your Jeep. However, what about your Jeep warranty? BTW, few days ago, ordered my 2020 2-door Wrangler Rubicon, which will remain mostly stock for the foreseeable future. May add some lights. No way do I have the guts to tinker with an engine on a new vehicle.
Pro Blu yeah sounds really good! And something mild like the intake I’m not to worried about the warranty. But I’m definitely not gonna do anything crazy to the engine. I’m sure you’re gonna love it! Thanks for watching! 👍🏻

Wooow now that's a beast of a sound!!!
Can't wait to install this air filter on my JL !!
BulletProof it does sound pretty good!
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. Will be looking at adding this mod. Those watching, be sure to lookup the correct way to disconnect the battery.
Jeff Royal thanks for watching man! So far it’s great. Nothing to obnoxious just adds a nice little growl 👍🏻

Same here. Take-off is too quiet. Did this help?
@@freerider7064 it helped immensely. i never have to look at the tach while driving anymore.
Try some GoPro noise fur to improve sound quality with windy conditions. Good video.
Presley Daniel I need to look into that haha thanks man 👍🏻
Instead of putting the slim plastic trim back on the bumper, you might consider installing a winch.
Is this the series 63 aircharger or the series 57 FIPK
How easy is it to remove the filter and clean it? Looks like you have to completely remove it to clean it.
Pretty much. Not super easy to clean

Principal Skinr yeah man I’m still liking it. It’s not super loud. Just gives it a much deeper growl under acceleration.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻

So far still doing good. Only thing I ran into was I needed to re tighten the O-ring round the filter. Other than that no issues.
I’m confused. Is there plastic in the engine? If you notice any plastic in the engine compartment, do you plan to replace those parts?
I'm confused. Every engine has plastic.
The question is WHY YOU TOOK THE GRILL OFF 😂🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Not for a CAI 😂
@@mrreneboy yeah i was so confused why did he take off everyone else seem like they dont remove the grill. I taken off the airbox to run my winch cables and never had to take off the grill.
What about conume oil is it increasing?
Dude you dont have to take off the grill lol 😆. The air box once you take off that bolt on the left and hose you yank it up.
Do you know whether this intake would work with the 2.0l engine? Looking for a beefer sound without a new exhaust...
Ken Ware this specific intake will not work with the 2.0L. You’ll need to get the one specifically designed for that one.
Thanks for watching!

Feel and horsepower increase?
Nothing extremely noticeable. More just sound when your going full throttle and then a little bit of improvement in response.
Thanks for watching!

Stock exhaust?
Yep!
dude is your wrnageler 2.0 or 2.0T?
Αλεχιοσ ξομμυνιστ Βρεακερ mine is the 3.6L V6
Which engine does your JL have?
In germany only 2.0 fuel or diesel. But an import were possible.
ich mine is the 3.6L V6. Honestly if you can get a 2 door diesel that’s what I’d get haha

They can't void the warranty for a cold air intake. Unless they could prove a failure was caused directly by the air filter.
