I’d like to do more of these California off the beaten path adventures when I’m not going cross country . I think I will
Do it!! I'll watch! :)
All in
Shall you, this is the stuff that's exciting too watch, thanks for posting!
It's where you are at your best.
That iron thing you were playing with is a 20mm projectile and they may be explosive. www.icollector.com/20mm-Projectile_i32699532
Thank you for never playing music. I love listening to the sounds of the towns you visit.
yes! me too
Agreed
I have been watching Adams videos for years. I cannot believe in all of that time it never dawned on me that he doesn't play music in any of his videos. I always felt the way he presents his videos was so unique, so yes you're right - the fact that he does not use any music is a big part of that. I can't believe I missed that all these years!
@@TownieGirl1974 Me too :D
Agree 150%.
YOU Should Have Her All The Time She is Great ,Love Her Enthusiasm
I visited Salvation Mountain back around 2008. I was instructed by an old friend to bring a donation (not of cash but food). Leonard was there, and he took us around on a private tour of his mountain, and afterward, I gave him a can of beans. He was an honest person, and a good man. I only met him once, but i'll never forget shaking his hand. I'm glad there was a place in this world, even for someone like Leonard.
You and Nicki are the next Desi and Lucy. She's a hoot. Thanks for getting the hell out of Disneyland. Ant hill reminds me of L.A. Good stuff.
I remember my family traveling to meet my uncle and his family who were camping at the Salton Sea. We drove all the way from Yuma Arizona where we were living at the time. It was a two lane highway and a slow miserable trip because of the bumper to bumper traffic leading to the Salton Sea but once we got there it was a great time playing with my cousins and swimming in the very salty water, just don't open your eyes underwater. This all took place in the late 1950's when the Salton Sea was a pretty thriving area. And yes I'm old!
Cersades Cosmos Hooray for old! Beats the alternative. ;)
You're not old just seasoned properly..
It's now a four lane miserable trip
C.C. …………...you tell and remember things like me, and Im old and got the best memory !!!!!!!!!!
It may be out of fashion for many these days, but Our Elders are something we should all appreciate and cherish.
I remember going to Salton Sea for the weekend as a Boy Scout. We camped in a canyon (with bats flying at night) and we had one kid pass out due to the 100 degree plus heat. I lived nearby at March AFB, Riverside during mid-sixties, those were great memories.
@ David Henry ,
Nearby at March AFB ? It's more than 100 miles away from the Salton Sea !
My Boy Scout troop spent a week at Salton Sea in 1982. It was neat to is boys. We were too young to remember what it was like when it was thriving. Now it looks like a dystopian landscape. In all these documentaries I always expect Mad Max to pull up in his interceptor (when he was still with the MFP and before he went mad). Minis the water it looks a lot like the town Mad Max was filmed in. A guy can dream! Lol!
Slab City looks like it's right out of a Mad Max movie!
that would be in Little River/Back roads of Lara, Victoria, Australia
What a Beautiful creature you have with you...... love your videos,,,stay with it.
Your friend looks like alot of fun to hang out with , love her humour
Your best sidekick ever
Salvation Mountain is Amazing and Beautiful!....I need to get over there to visit.....
Thank you for letting me see all of this because without you I wouldn’t ever be able to see them
What an Amazing Video. One of the best ever. Your Both Enchanting!!
I lived in Palm Springs back when Sonny Bono was mayor and wanted to clean up the Salton Sea. I worked for airlines so flew over it a lot too. The history of it is interesting as to what is once was like to the ways of run off from Agricultural issues into Colorado River. The Art area is pretty interesting! Liked the Drunk turtle 😂
I really appreciate how you are switching from amusement parks to the on the road vlogs--something for everybody. Of course, I am especially fond of your on the road travels like this one. Got a hoot out of your travel companion this time around! 😄
It's a surreal experience and the silence you allow to fill the space adds mystery and question. Perfect twilight zone setting..
Omg I loved the airplane fish/andufo airplane and the cylinder artwork.sooooo cool.
From Rise of the Resistance to The Salton Sea... that’s what I love about your videos. Vast differences
I try to always mix it up
I have been binge-watching every single video on Slab City and you are the first person that didn't stop to talk to the people that live there!
There is a great documentary on this area in its hay day and eventual decline. It is called Plagues and Pleasures. Great video y’all!!
Yep I watched it once...then I had to watch it again...love Hunky Daddy! LOL
Huell howser did one too back in the early 2000s it's on RUclips, may he R.I.P!
Your friend is so much fun what a great video to boot
This part of CA has always intrigued me (live in the Chicago area). Went to Death Valley last summer and it was almost life changing, the temperature was like 118 F the day we got there. Never experienced anything like that before. I would have liked to explore the Salton Sea area but I was with my 12 yr old daughter...maybe someday I'll be back in that area. Rather go there than LA or SF for sure.
Slab city is so awesome. Thanks for the videos. I haven't been half as lonely since I found your videos.
Bombay Beach elevation was -233. That’s BELOW SEA LEVEL..Love the travel videos of abandoned places. And please KEEP the eye candy, I’m in love.
Cool video Adam!!! Yes do more videos like this and bring your friend along!!!
THANK YOU ADAM FOR AN "AWESOME " EXPERIENCE!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like her! She is really funny and cute. Hope we see more of her.
She’s definitely cute...and charismatic.
I agree!!
@@kingoscar5884 Very beautiful creature for sure.
This is like California’s gold. That old tv show
I do remember you going here before. I think maybe even with Jacob. Nikki was a great little ball of fun!
I really enjoyed the stink lines on the pooping Banana
Haha yep
Brings the visual to stinkiness👃👀 and fruitflies
you a amazing video
@@TheDailyWoo you have a amazing video
Got to admire the optimism of somebody that says "you know what i think would be a great hit...........Banana museum!"
I love your friend. She is cute and funny. And quirky! (In a unique and good way!. :))
I was afraid to blink, so much "Goodness" packed in this wonderful video. Must watch about a thousand times to catch it all. Thanks Adam and Nicky!!
Crazy how different California is from North to South. That liquor store is SO Palm Springs style *Truly California's Gold!*
Please bring your friend more often, she's fun and entertaining.
Two lines I never thought I'd hear in my life:
1. "Right over there appears to be the international banana museum, just past that dumpster."
2. "The mascot for Skip's appears to be a drunk turtle."
I love that silver whatever at 11:52, the sun through the dome, those birds..and so much more
She has a ton of energy , great video
Where did she get her blouse from (beginning of video)? I love it!
Shes cute too
Came across this video a whole year later and you were in my neck of the woods! I actually had the pleasure of meeting Leonard before he passed away. Such a sweet man.
Adam, thanks for letting us tag along on your adventures. It's great to see these old places and "remember when", but it sure hurts to mourn their deaths. Thanks for honoring them.
New to the channel from the UK 🇬🇧. Loving your presenting style and eye for the weird and wonderful 👍
Toro Toro Licquor was featured in GTA5. I recognized it right away, glad it still is standing. Great video Adam.
Wasn’t it trevor’s meth lab?
I certainly hope that you include the lovely lady in future explorations!
This was extremely interesting, and to see that anyone can just drive out there and check it out, amidst peace, quiet and free from crowds. I think your video is going to drum up a lot of interest. It certainly would wake up the minds of a lot of young people if they could leave their regimented school system for a day and observe pure unadulterated creativity.
Hard to believe that people went there to enjoy themselves. My dad went fishing there in the 1950's.
What did he used to catch?
@@blazed1945 I don't remember
They used to have: corvina, sargo, talapia fish in the lake. They used to be big fish in that lake, back in early 80's. We used to camp & fish at Salton Sea. Used to be fun, because you'd have an appreciation for running water, toilet, electricity, even brushing your teeth after camping. We're talking tent and sleeping bags. We did upgrade to cots, once adults took down the tent & found scorpions under the tent. This video, is like going back in time, and everything is now dead. No productive growth. Place has a growing staleness to it. Sad.
This is what you do best Adam , totally loved it . Cheers from Australia
Thanks Adam for this impress look on this area. I have a really facination for this area behind Palm Springs.
Love this one!! Nicky (nikki, nickie, I know I'll get it wrong) is a great cohost. Thanks Adam!
Jim Follkie would like to see more of her 😉
I love it so much. So bizarre and wonderful. From the pooing banana, to the creepy kissing booth, pure gold.
Dot matrix printers were popular in the 80's and 90's when laser printers still cost $1000+
Mr Woo, is visiting towns of various sizes, and in the background can be heard the nearly continuous sounds of traffic, the interstate is the reason the town is now a ghost town, very similar situation to that which is happening in Southern Ireland at the moment,a great shame, some people call it progress.
"The International Banana Museum, just past the dumpster." That really sold me, I gotta go see it... the museum, not the dumpster.
What gets me is that it's not just called the Banana Museum, it's the INTERNATIONAL Banana Museum
Never what you might find in the dumpster as well !
Lots better place to be than say, and international airport, where those great big jet engines fly and hundreds of people congregate. Can't stand anywhere where there are more than 100 people.
Great video. Your observations and interests are the same things I find interesting when I travel.
Great directions, Adam - “ right past the dumpster”! Lol ! Makes me really want to go there!
You find the most facinating places, love your videos
I've been waiting for you to go to the Salton Sea forever. Yesss
These are all great places to experience. I was a bit scared of Bombay Beach when I went, but love Salvation Mountain. After watching your video I’m ready to go back to both🤙
Dude I just love these types of videos!! Thanks Adam.
Your sidekick compliments and enhances your videos.
I like your shows and the places you go. I think it's great you have Nike with you. Not meaning to be rude, she is one beautiful lady!
Mr. Woo! Loved it! Great fun, and crazy stuff to see, on the lesser traveled roads of CA!
My wife and I watch your channel every night, great fun, keep it up!
That crows nest she climbed is always the high point of the ship. The rest of the ship must be really deep down there!!
Always a good day with a new WOO vlog! 😎
Some great ‘into the wild’ locations! Love it!
Yep totally
just came across this video, its great and just wanna drop a thanks for sharing the beauty that is there ,that many don't see
Love these types of videos! Keep up the great work Adam!
You're doing a great job Adam the woo thank you so much
32.29 mins of sheer awesomeness! What wonderful places and the sculptures and artwork were imaginative and often spectacular! Thanks, Adam and your lovely lady friend for the most outstanding and thoroughly enjoyable vid I've seen from you in years. Keep your always excellent work up, see you in the next.
Great video. And, just between us, any woman willing to climb that crow's nest is a keeper.
I have to say, you city people are sure entertaining when you get out off the beaten path.
Took a trip out to the Salton Sea a few month ago with my mom. I tried getting the water to say I touched it, but the stench finally got to me and I headed back to my car. Took me some time to get the smell off of me and my clothes.
I really like the airplane art. Very creative and unusual.
I love Nikki! Bring her along for more!
This was awesome trip my brother people love seeing things that they did not know existed great fun take care my brother
Congrats, You found the weirdest place on earth.
@veronica carlson They are a weird bunch, I guess you would have to be to live there longterm.
All these locations actually have history if you look it up, in the 1950s the salton sea was a big summer tourist attraction for boating fishing and slabs city was actually placed there after WW2
veronica carlson not dry just toxic and extremely salty so you can’t swim, all the fish died, and it stinks.
@veronica carlson There still is a salton sea there, its just smaller
And the people that live there think we are the weird one's ...
Who is right, is up for debate ,,,, Hummmmm ??????
Very interesting video of the golden oldies. Thanks, Mr. Woo.
If you see a man with a "----Cut---Here----" tattoo on his neck, that's Trevor. Say hi for me!
I don't think he gets that joke
@ARE YOU FEELING LUCKY PUNK You're ignorant. Most gamers are from the age of 20 to 50
@@UlyssesM Since he got the joke, he plays GTA. So his comment now makes HIM the joke! P.S. I am 53, own my own home, and build muscle cars. Yep, FEELING PRETTY LUCKY.
Factories build "muscle cars".
Wow two of my favorites The Salton Sea and the Woo. Nicky.... Hello
This the Woo I love to watch. Exploring Americana
I love these offbeat places you are going to Adam! Awesome job!
Negative -223 feet below sea level, adam left the negative out 🤣
Outstanding video! So neat to learn about this place in America I never even knew existed!! Thank you for sharing!
I was expecting Trevor from GTA V to walk up lol
Tanks.. A Lot!
I love those airplane sculptures; especially the fish one
Really one of your best! The choppers are from Yuma where Harry learned to fly Apaches!
I thought you would do your Arnold impression when you saw them!
Great video! I’d like to visit there someday. It has a strange charm and beauty.
8:10 That would be elevation of negative 223

The plant at minute 2:36 appears to look like a Crown Of Thorns plant. Thanks for taking us on your adventures across the US. I've really enjoyed the out of the way old towns in the south. The Cali trip maybe the only way I see that state.
Off the grid is right , I've been waiting for you to tackle Slab City, it sure has changed when it was basically snow birds in the 80s. Next Up : The Old Plank Road !! ✅✔️✔️
Wade Ridsdale Adam and Jacob were there togetherbefore. Justin, too!
Double down on the old plank Rd ,featured in national geographic in the 60s
Gotta love that part of southern California. Strange but beautiful too.
I remember my family taking me to the Salton Sea as a child, I mainly remember the stench in the air.
You should incorporate drone footage in some of your vlogs.
@Mike Bailey I grew up in LA in the 60s back in the real California. (ethnically European)
"We have chosen the wrong future" --- Peter Hitchens
@Mike Bailey Living within the transition period (like you did) might seem acceptable to the complacent mind, but _demographics is destiny_ and our populations will eventually shrink to extinction.
I went there in 1985 when my family just moved to CA. We brought our bathing suits and towels thinking it would be a nice day to swim and relax. Looked like a nice place on a AAA Map. Boy was that a bad call.
@Mike Bailey Our lack of ethnocentrism was exacerbated by neo-Marxism's hegemonic rise along with the emancipation of the protected white female. I say with regret, under these scenarios, and those you described, there appears to be little hope.
ruclips.net/video/DnqOqYZMYUs/видео.html
you look like me
Hi adam thanks for letting me tag along thank you for remembering and honoring these places that used to be in the old days
12:12 all I could hear was Green Day singing 🎶”I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known. Don’t know where it goes, but it’s home to me and I walk alone”🎶 lol 😆
I love nicki energy. It's very inspiring
Bombay Beach A.K.A Sandy Shores (GTAV) nice👌🏾😀
The liquor store at 5:50 is Trevor's "lab"
All we need is the "Liquor Ace".
Exactly, GTA gets the realism down great in all their games. The ambiance that is, not quite the vast percentages of criminals obviously
This video was so cool. All the odd art and other imaginative displays etc!. Props to you Mr Woo!.
I realy like to live there, off the grit and anonimous
Marcel W - ‘off the GRIT’?
Atheist Orphan yes just as i say. No governent that always bother
Marcel W - I agree. Grit can be nasty stuff, very abrasive. It’s good to stay off of it. I once tripped over on some grit and gashed my knee.
@@AtheistOrphan Think u don't know what i ment to say. Off the grid ( below the radar? Not ment to say gravel
This is best video I have seen by you don’t know how I miss it been watching you for long time
Im been wondering when youd do a video like this, there are so many awesome things in California to see !! Excellent video!!!
More to come
@@TheDailyWoo Do a trip to Death Valley! I was there and loved it!
Really enjoyed this. Others that do this don't show as much. Great video keep up the good work.
You were in Trevor Phillips territory
That plant is perfect for privacy by any Window... Very Useful
