My partner and I use to have an AWFUL relationship she was literally the ultimate tormentor in my life. We moved passed that and healed (Ik that’s not for everyone) and she genuinely has become a better person and works her ass off to make it up to me every second of every moment of every day but I remember she told me her pendant was broken and wouldn’t stay on her neck and she had no idea how it happened so I told her the story of how and why she broke it and she sobbed saying she didn’t remember doing that and she asked herself how could she do that to the first gift I gave her. Yeah you can’t just tell someone you quit or I leave. And think that if they don’t quit that means that they don’t love you. A persons addiction has nothing to do with loving someone else. Now it’s perfectly ok with her not wanting to be with someone that’s using. Being with an addict is nearly impossible because drugs always come first. I say this as a recovered addict. I’ll have 8 years clean in September. But she definitely shouldn’t think she could’ve controlled his addiction or that it was her fault. When she said she wouldn’t be able to get over him going behind her back. She does need to maybe learn some more about addiction to help her understand and make peace with that. Because to her it feels like a personal betrayal. And that’s really not how addiction is. Active addiction takes control of everything you can’t just stop because someone tells you to even if you want to. You have to go to treatment and get help . It has nothing to do with your spouse and is a complete personal journey. No one else can make you sober or make you use ( unless they literally force you obviously, but you know what I meant hopefully)

    I can see elements of all of these relationships being context of my last relationship and he literally dmed me last night like asking if I had moved on and like trying to get back together as well as closure. I just wanted to cut off the rest of the dead weight and just knowing that he hasn’t learned from his mistakes and doing it to his new gf pisses me off because I was mad at myself for not ending the relationship sooner out of my own self respect. I am glad though because with the timing I ended up with my current boyfriend and I can see a future with him in 10 years + down the road. He missed out and took advantage of what a good person I am and his family and friends are so disappointed in him. He’s just a complete loser and I’ve been really kicking myself for not ending it sooner. It hurt knowing that he was thinking about dumping me but didn’t because he thought he was my main support system. Like I’ve been completely alone before and it’s better than being in a lie. He even was talking to his current gf while we were still trying to fix/repair the relationship which infuriated me even more. He wanted to be friends but I wanted nothing to do with that. I’m so glad that I’ll never be talking to him again. He’s an alcoholic, super senior, and a dead beat. This new gf is naive because he said that he’s shown every red flag but they’re still together. I’m so grateful for my partner and I’m being treated how I should be treated by a partner. I’m extremely happy and everyone loves him.

    Yeah, after making as many sacrifices as I did for 5 and 1/2 years waiting for my ex to get his shit together all the while him telling me that we were going to have a long loving life together and that just like me he can't back out of the relationship either that he was 100% in and then he finally gets a job, starts living a secret life, then breaks up with me as soon as he's stable even though I have illnesses that make it so I'm probably going to die in my 30s and I'm 29 right now. He knows that fully well and he knows that he took away crucial years of my life to be able to live. Also, when we started dating I had just months previously lost both of my parents. I have no family left. Even though I love my ex wholeheartedly even still now, I would never consider taking him back. I wouldn't be able to trust him. That was one of the biggest issues through our entire relationship with him constantly lying about things that he did not ever need to lie about. He's too afraid of doing the right thing because that would mean sacrifice on his end.

      @@theNimboo sucks. Just getting worse as time goes on. Like, fibro amplifies the pain and then gives you over $200 different illnesses and symptoms like IBS and immune problems and such then my Marfan, that's a degenerative issue. Then there's the fact that I haven't had a home since 10:00 and I've had to move every single year since being 10 until I moved out on my own at 15 but then when I lost that housing now I've been bouncing back around and unfortunately social security only gives you so much and I can't find anywhere in my county to live. And it's really important that I stay in this area because my doctor's in this area and every single time you move out of your network on Medicare they have to completely re-diagnose everything and I do not think that I can put up with doing that again. If I have a lapse in my medications I am sure to cause significant harm to myself, not self-inflicted, just the fact of being off of the medication would harm me. Well, in addition, if I hit a certain breaking point then causing myself physical pain actually feels better than the pain that my brain receives so sometimes bashing my face into a table is the only thing that will provide me relief. I know it sounds horribly strange but I don't make up the rules. If I did I would be living on an acre of land in a beautiful house that was as efficient as possible and I would be working on my garden and I would have a bunch of dogs and if I was fortunate enough to meet anyone I was mentally emotionally and physically attracted to then I would love to add an addition to the house! 💛
      But I'm reality come December I'm on the streets. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm trying every little thing. I even made over a dozen phonecalls today looking for emergency housing. Nada. Mi ne estas bone! But I have SOME leads I just have to wait until this Tues/Wed to get a call. Phalanges crossed!

      @TigerBlackTigerBlackTigerBlack 2 года назад

      @@theNimboo how are you by the way? I hope you're feeling okay today! It's always actually really nice to meet any other people with chronic pain issues because I really do not find a lot of people in my life have much sympathy for what we go through though it's not like I'm asking for sympathy I'm more so asking people to kind of empathize and like being mindful and that's hard enough for people to do for some reason. But when I talk to other chronically ill individuals we might talk about our illnesses for like a hot second just so we can know and be mindful and understand limits and boundaries and such but after that like, typically they're the only people that I can talk to normally because they're the only ones that understand that point of view. And I know people without chronic pain are going to see that sentence and be like "if you're not talking about your illnesses or your pain what point of view are you talking about?" and it's literally it's own thing. It effects everything.
