Depending on how you run in expediting your overhead varies. I do expediting. I've grossed over 100k the past 2 years. Roughly 70k net. I want to see you succeed my dude. Be safe, driver.
Hey let me ask this, are you accepting minimum contracts and are they split amongst multiple local needed courier drivers? I’m thinking of stacking up multiple contracts to make a certain amount. Pretty much net $70k that’s why I’m commenting specifically here mate
In the last 4 years av grossed over 100k driving a Yaris being a medical/ bank courier ,home everyday M-F in Massachusetts . I always work for small mom and pop courier companies. They pay way better. Currently Am taking Covid samples to labs , make almost $8k a month .

1:26 sounds like you were referencing a load board but I couldn't make out what the name of it was. I just got rid of my semi, I didn't realize that I would be orphaning my children; hopefully I got back home soon enough. Looking to get into couriering to stay local. I understand that the expenses are less, weight and item count is less, but while I am seeing an average of $28 per hour in the Indianapolis market, I can't see how someone would operate a successful business that way. Sure, if you were making $28/hour as a courier with someone else's equipment that would be one thing and a decent job, when you figure that eight of those dollars per hour are going to amount to your vehicle liability alone (payment, replacement sinking fund, insurance(s), maintenance sinking fund) in an industry where you are probably looking at total vehicle replacement every 5 years, several sets of tires, quite a few interval services, I would say that isn't exactly a liberal estimate. That doesn't even address fuel. If you are averaging 20 mi to the gallon for long haul you're looking at burning three gallons of fuel per hour and if you are looking at averaging 15 mi to the gallon for stop and go you are looking at four gallons per hour. If we mix it up even money we are looking at 3 1/2 gallons per hour and even conservatively pricing at $3 we are looking at $10.50 per hour. That looks like a great opportunity to pay yourself $9.50 per hour to run your vehicle into the ground, paying yourself as the worker, Business owner, accountant, etcetera with zero in the _"p"_ category. Are there load boards for this industry, what am I missing?
Sir, I work for a independent Messenger Service and they pay you by mileages and and only the delivery one way. They may have a request for a Round Trip. But these companies are cheap. The dispatcher and the owner make the most money. They will use the driver one percent. I pay five hundred dollars a month in Gasoline. They will exploit drivers as much you let them. Larry
And it’s sad! None are paying more. If you not on a government contract if lucky then you not gonna make it. Running all day is ridiculous. Your body wears out! Companies are favoritism more towards veterans drivers and hardly give good routes to newbies. You might succeed in a box truck now via a load board but not guaranteed.
@@kirabutler7985 How do you suggest doing that? Simply asking how much they pay? currently I work for a scrap yard but my boss has two 1-800 got junk trucks leased from that company... One truck alone makes $20,000 a month easily. They charge by half or full loads, between $400-700 and when we are busy they have 8+ jobs a day. Most people start out with a pickup truck and a flatbed trailer and simply pickup the junk and haul it to the dump. The dump charges $30-50 so you're making hundreds of dollars per day.
Go on indeed.com and put in courier, box truck, or sprinter van within the search field. Include your city and state for area. That’s how you find work. Companies usually post there. You can also look on cbddriver.com. Always go by what vehicle you have currently and scale up from there. Stay away from USPack, Associated Carriers and ACTFast delivery. They don’t pay enough. There’s always new companies coming along but go by mileage and vehicle. $1 per mile for cars and $2 per mile for anything else. Make sure you get guaranteed work routes or high demand for drivers from the companies. If not, then walk away!!

Hello, I am from Iraq. I work as a bus and truck driver. I have 15 years of experience in this field. A certificate issued to me in 2000. I want to work.
Any good companies/dispatchers i should work with?Im looking at Dispatchit, Tforce, Courier express, Goshare, Frayt, ADL delivery, XPO logistics, Diligent deliveries, Blue streaks, Delivery Solutions, US pack, Total Truck Transport. If possible id like to do as much traveling as possible with orders
How much would I make as an on call driver? I was offered a contract with LaserShip but only for on call. Weekly fees of $50.00 $1.00-$4.00 per package. Is it worth it or find something else?
Depends on packages vs stops. If you have 40 stops and 1 package each that's $40 - $160 avg $100 but lets say you get 40 stops 120 packages; that's $120 - $480 avg $300. Obviously you want option 2. Next look at your miles, type of freight (no touch vs touch), and hours out. I would rather make $100 in 2 hours driving 50 miles than 8 hours driving 300 miles to make $300. Both are attainable but with the first option over the same 8 hours you would have made $400 over 200 miles. For the more profitable scenario to work you would need to find 4 $100 in 2 hours driving up to 50 miles contracts. So in short, find multiple small contracts that pay a good rate and you'll make more overall.
I dont think 3 bucks a package is good because even if you deliver 40 packages a day that's only 120 bucks a day. Me personally make more than that a day sitting on my ass in a warehouse so I'm in Miami and wanna but a truck and out my cousin to work but this has to be beneficial
You wasn’t listening. I was only referring to one specific job posting. The pay in this industry depends on many different factors. Your area, job, freight, company, and demand all play a part in how much an independent courier makes. For example, the pay may be better in someone else’s state as opposed to my state due to demand, different types of companies, etc...
Bro amazon drivers delivery up to 200 a day. Get another contract and double that if you get 150 a day that’s $450 daily and for about 20 days or more that’s around $9k mate

Subtract mileage ,wear and tear on vehicles, insurances, and payments
Forget mileage cars are meant to be driven
