Dyno pull with a GoPro in the Mark VIII sheetmetal intake.

We had a foot of snow, then it warmed to 50F and started raining. My driveway is destroyed and I'm too poor for concrete. In this video I explain what the reason for this project is and the direction it is going. Ultimately we will be installing a 32v aluminum mod motor in a 3rd gen Camaro. The goal is to go 9's in the 1/4 mile for under $7K and beat my friends 1st gen Camaro with a turbo ls. After a couple days on the dyno, 12 jet changes, a carb change, a blown up intake (we did not get on camera), a melted GoPro case, a melted GoPro light, and some frustration we were able to get it to run pretty well. This intake was designed to work with the material I had available on the shelf and see how everything would work together. After running a smaller carb I know I could get the low-mid range to match stock output and surpass stock power above 4500rpm. The problem with this setup is going to be when boost is added, the amount of boost required to make the power I need to meet my goal is going to require timing control and an intake more optimized for this engine to avoid changing cams. This got too long so I left a lot of detail out. If you have questions please ask and I will do my best to respond.

Cool Stuff you're doing with a carbed intake on a 4.6 4v. We've got a Mark VIII project car as well. We also have lots of experience in the fabrication of Modular Ford Intakes.

what if you had chamfered intake runner holes

That would have helped. The new intake is a drastically different design that will optimize the factory cams. It will have tapered runners with radiused inlets, and a 281ci plenum that is 5 1/2" deep.
