This was very helpful. I would only add to it the information that the speed-connect cable, up at the bottom of the faucet body, has left-hand threads. I learned that the hard way by having to dismount the entire faucet to see why I could not loosen the cable. The little chrome rod for the stopper has the normal right-handed threads but the cable that the threads in to the bottom of the faucet body is most definitely left-handed threads. If you are trying to replace the cable, counter-clockwise will tighten, clock-wise will loosen. Beware!
Thank you!!! This was so helpful. My problem was that I couldn’t get the stopper to stay above the drain at its highest point and your explanation really helped me. Knowing where to place the J shaped piece at the up position was the trick. Thank you!!!
Thank you so very much. It’s like none of the videos want to address the issue of the drain. For you to go purchase a drain and do a video is well the best. With my brain concussion that I’m dealing with I’d never figured it out. So thank you my good sir.
Very helpful video! Thank you. FYI, you can make this replacement/install job a lot easier. While under the sink, rotate the pipe clockwise so the assembly unit is facing "out" (towards you) to work on it, then rotate it back (counterclockwise) after install is complete.
Wow! This was a great video. I was wondering why Drano wasn’t doing anything. You literally saved me a plumber’s trip and who knows how much money. God bless you! 🙏🏽✨
Thanks for detailed explanation on how the speed connect actually works. Mine just broke so hopefully I can squeeze my head under there and fix this thing. Thanks for posting!
Best video. My plumber put this exact AS faucet in and the drain stopper will not go up the last 1/8". Now I know how to correct the issue. Thank you for a great video!
Omg thank you! I’ve watched so many other videos on this and never could get either stopper back in correctly but because of this video I could tell the little circular thing that pops out has two parts and both were coming out so I never could get the hook thing pointed the right way…
Just to add, douglass mentions installing the stopper backwards, with the offset slotted bottom facing the FRONT of the sink. If you install the J-hook and the actuator cable without the stopper you can look down in the drain and see what actually happens with the J-hook. You can then drop the stopper down, slotted part facing forward, and it will operate as normal. The difference being you can remove the stopper without taking out the J-hook making your next clean-out a breeze. Hopefully😀.
You just saved me from fully ripping out a sink because I was so mad at it. Thank you.

Doogulass, your demonstration and explanation is the best one I have ever seen for the Speed Connect. Thank you!

I'm installing the stopper backwards! My next clean out will be a breeze! 👌
Best way to do it
Thanks. This is so good. finally understand how this works
Very helpful! Thank you for this video!
Thanks! With this info I was able to put it back together correctly the first time!
Thank you. Helped me understand what was going on.
Great video. Thanks for sharing
This is gold my friend! Thank you so much
This helped a ton. Thank you so much!!!
Never ever should they have made these this way!! AARG!
Excellent!
Thank you!!
This new design doesn't seem like progress. More complicated, plastic parts to wear out, more of a nuisance.
Thank You !!
