I realised that too, and on closer inspection: the first phrase has ambiguously footed jumps (U/D or L/R) which are PRECEDED with one of the arrows on that jump. No confusion there. The second phrase only has corner jumps which have ONE specific footing, which again are preceded by the step, which causes no ambiguity of footing
