Okay, I just beat this for the first time and here's why I think it's a 16. "It's just drills it's so simple": I'm sure if you have the footspeed to beat 18s these drills are brain-dead easy and this song is easier than many other 15s. If you're just clearing 15s, nah. Skillattack says this is in the top 15% hardest 15s to score on, so it's not even just "hard to pass, easy to score on", it's as hard to score on as many 16s. I've beaten all but 20 15s and Last Card is my floor now. "Other 15s have as many steps": Yeah but are those steps nearly as fast? I haven't beaten A4A yet, but I've beaten Lost One and Disappearance of Hatsune Miku, which were MUCH easier than this. Lost One doesn't have big streams, it just goes steady. Disappearance is sooooo much slower. Stepcount doesn't mean difficulty but putting most of those steps in a few places does. Also, I played Bamboo Sword Girl today too which some people say is also a 16 and it felt a level lower than this. EDIT: Woke up today and I think I also hurt my foot a little playing this. Yeah.
I hear some unused steps in the buildup before the first stop and even in the slowdown where the 16th rhythms continue even into the temporary 8th notes. I can see more 16th patterns being added in those parts. I'd also imagine the drills would turn into boxes for the Challenge chart.
I feel like it's their way of making something "easier" without undercharting. it does make things easier passingwise, at least, but harder to score on I guess.

Even from the line out you can easily hear they massively toned down the crowd screaming. Now we can finally hear the music.

Can we talk about the fact that its almost 700 steps? For a 15 that seems like a lot.
Ace for Aces and Lost one no goukoku both have over 650 steps.
Hatsune Miku no shoushitsu has 729.
Not as uncommon.
The chart isn't that hard either in terms of technical skills. It's just a massive stamina drain.
