We always staked our tomato plants and tied the plants to the stakes. We also pulled off all the sucker branches leaving only the ones bearing flowers. Once the tomatoes develop, they will add more weight making it harder for the plants to stand. You have quite a crop going!

You need to provide her and her babies a clean place to sleep and nurse people use plastic swimming pools and puppy pads to keep them from getting parvo out of the ground and dying not moldy hay dirty floors. They need clean environment while babies and need their shots very soon. Take care of them as one already died.

Sheryl there were several people who suggested that Dixie needed to be moved to the goat barn where she could have her puppies safe away from the goats who could possibly lay/pile up and smoother them..
A kiddie pool or whelping box so she could get out and know the puppies would be safe…
Puppies move a lot even without their eyes open when they are new trying to find the milk bar!!
And “ Fresh Straw” not something that was out in the pin where Dodger was at..
Being in the elements wet and possibly very moldy is not “Fresh”
And yes Dixie could very well have lots of fleas, then so could the old straw…
so naturally the puppies need to be taken care of before they become so infested by the fleas..
Most likely they don’t even know that Dixie needs to be fed Puppy Chow while she’s nursing her puppies
Also she needs lots of fresh water, which is needed to help with her milk as well..
Yes she had a runt however it may have been able to be saved if the baby had some intervention with colostrum either with a baby bottle or tube feeding and being kept warm wrapped and under a heat lamp..
Even if the baby was able to survive with the intervention it still could have not made it…
If you do nothing well then it is nearly always the baby will die but it deserves a chance at life..

@@sherylkuether1254 The ponies are still there and looking better. They were in Steph's last 2 videos in the back ground. The puppy between Dixies front legs was not dead. It moved both it's front and back legs. Dixie can apparently get over the fence around the barn as when they came back from the garden, Dixie was out in the yard. Probably to go to the bathroom.

Your garden's looking good, despite some of it being blown over. I hope it straightens up and produces good. I've found that gardens grow better when it rains vs being watered by us. But you got to do what you got to do to keep it alive and thriving. Dixie might have moved her puppies inside the shed because of the storms. This is just a suggestion, you can ask a vet. It might help to feed Dixie puppy food while she'd nursing.

I hate to complain because I love you guys but the chickens need clean water every day. The past few times I've watched yalls videos the water is nasty dried up or none at all. Everytime you feed them you really should give them water. Also didn't know if you knew but you should put Apple cider vinegar in the water. Just a small amount it helps with their digestive system and kills bacteria...
    Your property is looking amazing.

    • @marlamork7350
      @marlamork7350 Год назад +6

Crystal I can’t tell you how many times I’ve given them the same information about the fresh water and apple cider vinegar in the water…
Anyone who has chickens know or should know that chickens drink a lot of water every day so it would only stand to reason chickens need their water to be fresh every day without fail…
All of them then need to be scrubbed really well at least once a week especially if they have been left to dry out…
I don’t understand why that’s such a hard thing to do for all their animals and chickens is to provide them clean water bowls or troughs at least once a week..
We would not want to drink out of a dirty water bottle or glass so we don’t need to expect any creature little or big to be doing that either…

I love your family and your farm. What I learned about chicken keeping when my layer chickens weren't free ranging was that they should have access to complete layer feed all the time. I had a feeder in their coop all the time that had feed 24/7. Layer hens will not eat more than they need. Meat chickens are a different story though. They will gorge themselves. Dual purpose chickens as layers are fine with free feeding, access 24/7. Egg production is down if they are not getting enough of the right feed. They also need oyster shell for the calcium it supply's for the egg shell. It is for sure a learning process. It might help your egg production.

What about getting some stakes to put right next to the plant and then you could always use like them twist ties and tie it to the the stake in the ground and it'll help keep it from falling over, another idea is you know how you're mounting up the dirt around the potato plants? You can just add a cane pole or something like that in your tomatos cages and it does help them stand up, i know because i have done it before. You can also tie a tomato vine to lattis and grow a huge tree full of tomatos i have done that also. God bless you and your whole family..🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀...7 dust will take care of those ants to.

It almost looks like you had either very strong straight-line winds or mini twisters or both! Theres so much devastation! I hope you can repair the damage to the garden and other damage.

Brandon I drive a 6 foot stake in next to each tomato . Then use twine to tie the plant to it as,it grows.

Did I just hear you say “you didn’t loose any animals? Then where is the 8th puppy?
You should never of moved them to the pig tunnel where they couldn’t be detained. It’s your fault it’s dead!

Brandon, with corn once it gets about 8" high you are sopose to mound them with dirt about 3" to help make the roots stronger. Less chance of them getting blown over.
    Your garden looks very good.

You may want to put cages around the Peppers like you did the tomato’s. Also you can carefully put stacks in the tomato cages and tie the wire cages to the stacks. The tomatoes can get too heavy/big for the cages.
