- Hello and welcome to my channel! Today's video is a special vinyl unboxing as it is also Record Store Day!
If you're wondering what Record Store Day is... it is a special day to celebrate independent record stores and artists big and small release limited edition pressings of their records sold exclusively at Record Stores on this day! This began in 2008 and has only grown since then.
Last year was my first ever Record Store Day as I queued up early to get The Lakes 7 inch on vinyl! Today's video is a mix of a vlog from the morning of Record Store Day as well as an unboxing of the stunning Folklore Long Pond Studio Sessions vinyl. I queued up at around 5:45 am and i was 48th in the queue at my Record Store which was Action Records in Preston.
I was lucky enough to get the record I was after as well as a free Taylor Swift poster!

Yeah my goal is to get the 1989 pink/purple vinyl as well. But it’s crazy expensive. I’m not sure if I will ever get it, because the prices will likely increase with every year that goes by.
It's so pretty! I just don't understand, why limited?! Everyone would buy this, if it would be available everywhere. (The City of Lover heart vinyl too.) It's really disappointing.😭 And the Folklore variants too, like the Midnights ones.
Record Store Day releases tend to be limited because they’re special for that day but 115,000 is a big release for RSD!

Such a gem of a record,, but the store i was at,, had 500 to sell !!!,,, and sold over 200 by 9am ( they was open at 8am ), not as ltd as it was suppose to be. But a great addition to my Swifty collection.
It’s good that so many fans get the chance to get it!
I live in Brazil, and around here we don't have vinyl stores, that is... we don't participate in this global event. however, this year, I bought my long pond and I'm very happy! 🎉🎉🎉

Hi! It just says Mexico on the back but you might be able to find out if you have a look around but I’m not too sure, sorry!

I use a flip knife to open my records (very carefully), but I have read a lot of people say the best way is if you're wearing jeans, rub the seam on your leg and the friction will cause it to split along the seam naturally as it warms up.

17:30 Actually all 12 inch album records play at 33 1/3 speed. 45 speed is for the 7 inch singles.
The poly lined sleeves are a great touch. When they come in paper sleeves it's such a disappointment

Exactly I don’t understand why Taylor got rid of the plastic since Rep or lover.
It forced me to buy plastic sleeves because it really hurts when I hear the sounds of removing the vinyl from paper sleeves.
Hello Rachel...Im from Mexico and I heard this record has two pressings... the one for selling outside of Mexico is 20 grs heavier and has the disney sticker, there are the two differences from the Mexico pressing...Do you know something about it?

Bought the digital version from Qobuz, available in 44.1-24 which is slightly better than cd (if you have a decent streamer/DAC). As a Qobuz Sublime Subscriber it costed me 9.69 €. For non subscribers it's about 24.19 €. 34 tracks... Apple Music and Spotify is just streaming - not owning.
It's an older video and I can't hear anything you say because of the rain drops but I watched the whole video anyways. 😊

It was conceived then but the actual first Record Store Day took place on April 19 2008 ❤️
