Omg I'm feeling so happy for the video cause it's reminding me of my first time having my lps played!!! At first I was really nervous like you are and did a lot of research on how to hold vinyls, how to keep them, how to clean them when there is dust or my fingerprints. But now I've found that vinyls are not that breakable. And I just spray alcohol on them and wipe them with paper tissues (I asked my friend who majors chemistry and he assureed that alcohol doesn't react or dissolve the plastic of lps). I believe that I just enjoy music and I like the fact that I'm 'owning' a physical album, not that I want to be a vinyl expert or to criticize others for being new. From the video I can tell that you have the best lp player for you now and the best records Taylor has ever made!! Congrats for entering the vinyl world and making one of the best decisions in your life!!! Btw I am subscribing for loving evermore. Everyone who loves evermore has the best taste for music. ❤❤❤
This was such a thorough, informative, and kind comment! It’s nice to know you had a similar experience as a beginner. So glad you you’re here, welcome!! 🫶🏼
@@OliviaLeigh Thank you so much replying!! I was a little embarrassed when making the comment cause I'm not a native speaker of English. I'm so glad that you feel kind and informative of my words and can't wait to see your next lp unboxing video!!!
10:32 did the same thing with my first record player too lol 😂 i thought the plastic bit was the needle for some reason??!! I love that evermore is one of your fav Taylor albums cause it’s my fav too!
I’m thinking about getting one cause I love music and I love to sing yes it’s a little old school but I love the old school vibe with a hit of new I think I might get one of those
Good Morning Olivia Welcome Back so happy you posted yesterday happy belated birthday, hope you doing great and you are amazing supporter, have a great day Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones
As a Generation X dude I was of the last to grow up with Vinyl. Physical media is just so much more intimate. I too had the same player in the beginning. I upgraded after I wore it out. lol Love collecting my music like back in the day. Makes going to the record store fun again. Enjoy your records they last forever..
I''m sooooo late to this video. First off do not be insecure about having a suitcase record player. They are made to be used. Not to just look at. If you listen to them once and awhile for the vibes they are perfectly fine. Do not worry about collecting variants of each of the albums it will get really pricey just buy the one you like the most. I variant collect Ariana Grande and at the end of the day it all plays the exact same. I loved the video!!
idc what people say these suitcase record players are GREAT for beginners. Spending over $200 on a audio technica record player is NOT beginner friendly like that literally defeats the purpose. I definitely plan on upgrading to that brand soon but as your first record player, these are perfectly fine.
Yes, thank you! I understand people want to prevent potential problems for others, which is great, but it’s not always affordable to buy the better quality player right off the jump. Plus, a lot of people are extremely rude about it which just isn’t productive at all lol
They aren’t trying to be rude they just don’t want you to damage the vinyls they aren’t calling you poor they are helping it’s better to just wait until you can afford a nice one than to waste money on damaging the vinyls and the suitcase ones don’t even sound decent (I have one that my dad gave me) it’s garbage
Can you please let me know your experience with it, i wanted to buy the samee vinyl record player along wid midnights, forklore, lover and 1989 tv. Im so excited yet scared coz i have never had one before and idk anything abt it. So do you recommend me purchasing thiss?
I love it so far! As someone who also never owned a record player before, I feel like it's great for beginners. I also love it because it doubles as a speaker (it has a bluetooth setting). From what I've researched, there are definitely higher quality - and more expensive - options but I think this is the perfect & affordable intro !
@sunny10dj Don’t buy any of the suitcase or all in one record players they’re trash they scratch the grooves of the record causing the song to skip. Buy an Audio Technica Lp60xbt instead you’ll thank yourself later
@@lauracorbett4577 This is false. The rumors that this record player will damage your records are completely false. Yes the suitcase/portable record players are not the highest quality record player. However the tracking force of the needle on this record player is 5 grams. In the 60s and 70s they were telling the record player manufacturers to track at 4 to 6 grams. So those rumors are entirely incorrect. You will only hear an audible difference in the record if you play the record 100 times. So no, suitcase record players will NOT destroy your records. And even if someone plays a record 100 times and somehow manages to damage the record. It’s not the end of the world if someone damages a $20-30 record. Calm down. Thank you have a nice day.
Please don't buy any suitcase player. That's money wasted that you could put towards a decent unit. Do not spend $300 on records and buy a $30 player. Let's forget the "damaging the record" nonsense, the fact is you are setting yourself up for disappointment. The don't sound better or even as good as your phone or a transistor radio. You will feel like you wasted your money on the records when the records have nothing to do with it
As someone who has been in the industry for years this turntable will be fine as long as you replace the sapphire stylus on it to a diamond one the tracking force on these is really not heavier than most portable turntables from the 80s so get rid of that stylus and you should be fine also just stick to black discs they are just better
Colored vinyls are fine. Picture discs can sometimes sound a little bit worse. But there is no difference in sound between colored vinyl and regular black vinyl.
Just pinch the first like half inch area of the record where there isn't any tracks.... Also connect the record player to a a set of powered bookshelf speakers and the sound will be dramatically improved... Good luck have fun and enjoy
I got my 2 first taylor swift vinyls of folklore and evermore then the next day I got the same record player. About a month later I got 5 more vinyls! Which were, debut, fearless (tv), red (tv), rep, and 1989. I’m still growing my collection but I would like to share my experience!
I hate to say it, but this is a very bad turntable. If you can't afford a better one, that's OK, but I highly recommend saving up for something better, like the Audio-Technica AT-LP60X, which isn't very expensive.
I don’t want to be rude or anything but I would strongly recommend staying away from cheap record players like suitcase ones. It’s not that they look bad or anything it’s just that they can really ruin your vinyls❤
@@OliviaLeigh I didn’t want to sound rude commenting bc all it does is make people feel bad. There is t any reason to feel insecure about the record player (like u mentioned in the video) because it’s still good but in the future if you still want to grow your collection I think it’s a good Idea to save up!!!
I'm sorry to say this but that record player will ruin your records the needle scratches the grooves of the record causing the song to skip . you should upgrade to an Audio Technica LP60XBT which is the best record player and it lasts longer
I don't understand buying an $80 record and a $30 turntable that sounds worse than your phone just to say you can play "vynils" Just hang the record on your wall and stream it. Im sorry, but I've heard those suitcase players and I've owned transistor radios that played AM better than that. It's painful to listen to. You don't have to spend more than you did on the vynilzzes to get a decent unit that sounds acceptable/better than your phone.
@@jimb032 Actually, I received it as a gift so no money was spent and it’s been working fine for me thus far :) Planning to upgrade when I get the chance. Either way, you don’t have to understand …but thank you for your concern!
