Adrian Murrell was a good running back for the Jets. He doesn't get mentioned much because the team wasn't doing good. He was traded to the Cardinals after the 1997 season. The Jets signed Curtis Martin and the rest is history.
As for Kyle Brady, what he said in the book "Gang Green" was that he'd come off the field in his early career and not be corrected. From what I gather from that was that Brady was neglected, and for a young player that overall environment stunted his growth. From 1998 to the finish I think Brady was a good, useful player, so it has to have been what he entered into as a professional.
After Week 10 of the 1994 Rich Kotite was coaching in Philadelphia guiding his Eagles to a 7-2 start. Then Week 11 they go into a match hosting the Cleveland Browns what could've been a possible Super Bowl Preview with both teams at 7-2. They lose that game getting steamrolled 26-7, and then proceed to lose the remaining games of the season to finish 7-9, then 1995 and 1996 go a combined 4-28. So from Week 11 of 1994 to the end of the 1996 season, Rich Kotite goes 4-35 in a 39 game stretch. He must've had incriminating pictures of Leon Hess, that's only way he would've gotten the Jets job.
I don't believe that there are many careers that crashed and burned like Rich Kotite's. Initially I can overlook the 1994 Eagles collapse, but once I saw how the 1995 Jets roster was being constructed, like anyone else paying attention knew, "Boy, these guys are in trouble". I think Kotite had a coaching nervous breakdown or something: his final record is certainly a major demo job.
I never knew the Dolphins spent these years with a negative turnover differential. I watched a lot of Dolphins games (from Western New York and not a Bills fan, I ended up frustrated with those Dolphins. These days, I have a different outlook on all that: Bills, a talented the with heart that couldn't close the complete deal, and the Dolphins-they tried, but something always went wrong or they were missing something) and I don't think they lost a lot of games due to turnovers (Sammie Smith fumbling at the goal line vs. the Oilers in 1991 was certainly a ga.e-deciding turnover).
I think the 1996 Jets had okay personnel (Neil O'Donnell struggled and also couldn't stay healthy, so they may've been sunk anyway), but it's like the team knew it was bad and played accordingly. Out of all the 1-15 teams, the Jets had the roster to do much better (I think the 1996 Jets were like the 1980 Saints-"Ain'ts"-except worse, since, at that point, Saints were never much and didn't have a free agency pool to use as a tool). Heck, I thought the 1995 edition were talent-deficient (nice job with Hugh Douglas & Wayne Chrebet, but they were still green at the time, Gang Green came later), and they managed 3 wins (all the 1996 Jets could was a road win against a weird Cardinals team that had about 8 different identities that season).
The final game for this classic Dolphins helmet
What do you mean?

@@gluserty yeah I totally agree with this 💯
@@gluserty As I said, Pete Carroll or Bruce Coslet could've kept that job if he had wanted to.
Those Jets uniforms are beautiful. They should have gone back to this look after they got rid of the tired white helmets after the 2018 season.

Richie!
Do you have week 10 game Miami at New England also from 1996 season?
Maurence, once you are the man! Do you have the 1996 Jets at Miami?
27:00 touch back in 2020 .. dolphins ball
Pete Carroll should've stayed with the Jets, otherwise they would've never had that 1-16 season. What a mistake for that team.
