While they're extremely well known, Puma as a football boot brand sits in third place behind Nike and Adidas. Because of this placement, some might say that their boots are underrated, and over the last few years, I'd agree with that statement. But is that still the case? Are they going backwards?

They’re heavily UNDERRATED, the touch and comfort from the puma ultra ultimate reminds me of the adidas f50’s . Loved them since then and gave a bit of nostalgia when wearing these boots

I got the Pulisic signature versions for $90 and yes... Very underrated and gives a very close and barefoot feel on the ball that currently the speed portals or mercurials do not offer. It feels like a OG Vapor. My only complaint is the heel could offer a little bit more confort.

altrought my life I always used classic leather boots, but two months ago I bought the puma ultra from the fearless pack to try new sensations. At first they feel too plastic and the heel is very tight but after using them all this time the upper became more like a nice rubber and the hardness in the heel has disappeared, the way they wrap the foot is spectacular, you feel the agressive traction and the responsiveness. my only complaint would be the touch with the ball due to the upper, i prefer something more paded, but it is because of my habit of using leather boots. I am more than happy with them and am considering buying another pair.
Any updates? I’m considering going for the ultra ultimate mg version.
@@shamreazahmed8170 the current version or the previous one? cause i also bought the new ultras and i'm very dissapointed. super stiff and rigid, the powertape in the upper sometimes hurts on the outside part of the foot.
@@xL0uD_94 damn that’s a shame to hear. I had the puma ultra 1.2 mg version and they were great on AG pitches only issue was the front split within 6 months. The future Z are definitely the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had. I’m now looking to either get the future z ultimate or mizunos. I’ll stay away from ultras. Comfort over everything when it comes to a football boot personally.

@@shamreazahmed8170 so far really good. Upper is thin and barefoot like. Soleplate has been great for ag and fg. No durability issues either. Still really happy with them.

Does the Future Ultimate have the foam lining in the toe box like the previous 1.3&1.4’s? Gracias amigo 👍🏼

One thing that I noted is that they changed the puma ultra ultimates last shape and heel padding dramatically compared to the first and second colorways. I own the second reddish orange WCup color and the heel padding was way stiffer and blisters, but the shape was different, it had a higher big toe box that tapered. Hoeveer the modern colorways when I tried them feel so different, I had to go half a size down, and the toe box was more normal and tapered and lowered slightly, less anatomical. And the heel pads are way softer, but still relatively low. Super strange and I hope u can do a comparison between the first color vs the latest colors showing these significant differences. I'm not crazy btw because my friends also noted similar changes 😂
I’ve noticed that some pairs feel a little better than others as well, but I think it boils down to manufacturing inconsistency rather than an “on purpose” change. Even the better feeling pairs aren’t my favorite though.
@@Soccerreviewsforyou but bro I'm 100% confident they changed their heel padding design, I own the first colors and recently visited an official puma store and tried 2 of the newer colorways and they have a softer and less bulging heel padding, also the profile of the boots changes especially from the top down pics, they're clearly evident in the photos online on their website.
@@baraaamir7891 yeah bro is clearly notorious (for the curious people) that the brands modify the boots from one color way pack to other, the case is the same in Copa sense, Predator Edge and Mercurial vapor 14 (the brands change things like the shape of the boot in Pred Edge or the linner padding in Mercs or in the copa sense)

is it true that the utra has good width on the outside of the foot ? how would you compare the utra to the phantom gx and the gt2?

As someone with fairly narrow feet, Pumas have always fit me the best.
@@ps1bwoexactly, had a pair of Phantoms GT2 bc i heard they were for wide feet, turned out they were absolutely horrible and now i bought the Puma Ultra Ultimate in the green colorway and i bought them for 99€, theyre incredible

I’m a bit of a boot nerd and have like every major boot and the puma future is pretty good for wide but the speed out of the box isn’t lots of stud pressure and takes time for it to mild to your foot puma isn’t the best for wide feet

27.5 or in some cases 27, I also use the 28 cm size in Nike and I have normal feet but a little bit thin

Does the upper stretch in the toebox area on the future? I had to go half a size down for the tf-soleplate (cage) variant, because the fit was a bit roomier than for the studded (fg, mg) soleplates for some reason. My toes are now slightly poking the tip of the boot, which creates some numbness, but not bad enough to keep me from playing. However, I would like them to break in a bit to lose the numbness sensation.

I heard the new vapors can expand better than the older vapors so it might be good for wider feet. However if your foot is too wide I would suggest the Hypervenom GX
@@alih8488 I don’t really know if my foot is that wide bc I wore mercurials before but I stoped bc it hurt my right ankle,but now I might go back to the mercurials or go to the speedportal. Idk what one tho
@@negusayoade615 don't go with the speed portal they are horrible now. I am still using the x17+ FG now and got tiempo legend 9 for AG pitches. I love them both. I am definitely switching to the mercurials next year or Mizuno. In my opinion Adidas fell off hard
