After what many would agree was a bit of a disappointment in the Puma Ultra Ultimate, almost one year later, we now have it's replacement, the Ultra Ultimate 2023! On paper, they seem almost identical to the previous model, but there are some key differences that definitely have their pros and cons. In today's video we discuss what's new, what's better, what's worse and ultimately how the 2023 edition of the Ultra Ultimate stacks up against other options in the very competitive "speed" boot category. Snazzy looking colorway. Gotta give Puma some props on making their boots pretty eye catching.
It's a shame the heel is largely still the same as the outgoing model. Didn't find it too comfortable for me personally, just felt there was too much pressure on my heel. And that pressure was a little on the low side, making it feel a little shallow to me. Being over 7oz isn't a deal breaker for me. The X 18.1 and Vapor 14 Elite were both in the 7oz range (depending on shoe size of course), they were both absolutely fine.

I finally got around to trying these, and I’m glad I did. Medium width foot, medium arch height and they fit me better than anything else from 2023 other than the Furons. The Alphas are probably the only one I’d wear over these right now, and even that’s a maybe
I liked the Ultra 1.3 / 1.4 so much that I have three pairs, so this should hold me over until the next-next generation of Ultra which is hopefully a step back to the right direction!

Are they true to size for USA sizing? Or EU sizing? I know adidas 10.5 are EU 44⅔ and Nike 10.5 are 44.5. Pumas 10.5 are 44... I ordered the first Ultra Ultimate the lime green ines at 44 flr 10.5 and felt snug, got blisters on back somwtimes. After playing in rain the got molded perfectly but wasnt ever able to vandage my ankle for matches, it felt a hit too prickly on the back where i had the blisters. I ordered the same like green on 44.5 which are 11 USA and they felt just a little too big :( so i dont know what to do. I may have gotten the forat 10.5 defective since both lowest on outside cleats snapped off, broke off. And im thinking maybe they were defective? Or womens size? I dont know, i absolutely love ebeything about the Ultra except the blistering heel and the fristrating rabbit chase when it comes to fondong the right size. I tried on thesenew 2.0 Ultra Ultimate at the store and i swear every diferent color flet dofferent at soze 10.5 and the 11s felt too big. I wanted ti buy some new Puma King but the sozong was wven weirder. I find the Future are the most true to size. Why cant they all havw the same its so fristrating :(

i've been using ultras since 1.3. the heel is a problem when you start using them. after a couple of wears it start to feel good. I'm definitely going to buy this version too
The heel on Ultra Ultimate is different from previous Ultras. I didn’t have any issues with Ultra models before Ultimate was introduced. But like I said in the video, it seems like the shape of your foot/heel will play a big role in how comfortable or uncomfortable they’ll be.

It’s as if they do it on purpose to annoy the consumers to buy the following “better” version. Nike, adidas, and puma all do it. I personally feel like Nike has purposeful innovation while adidas and puma are both struggling to keep up tech wise. But really boots have started to come to a point where it’s nearly all the same at the end of it. Synthetic plastic feeling and snug.
@@ev1627 I wear Nike almost exclusively but I wouldn’t say they have more “innovation” than any other brand, their marketing is just better, it just comes down to personal preference
@@ev1627 Many young pro players like the speedportals and you can see it in the u21 euros where most players still don’t have a shoe deal, it really comes down to preference and I would actually say speedportals for example have way better durability than mercurial/ultra
@@ev1627I don’t think Nike are the most innovative they just happened to have things that works like grip knit or zoom air and happens to at least do it’s job. However I just don’t think boots these days are in that same over the top innovation as we used to have from the early 2010s.

I just ordered them, i had no choice. They were on sale for 65 bucks. My budget was of like 80 bucks and within that you cant get any top end boot. They are on their way, hope they fit well. My feet are slightly wide.
How was the fit ? Planning on buying it too but so many negative reviews on it for wide feet
White upper is so Damn strong, i dont need to tie them at all, i Like them, i dont know why is everyone hateing them

@@Gabrielexpress6911super tight and narrow, i used to wear mercurials. i found these at an outlet for 40 and i had to go up half a size just to get my foot in the shoe, even then it was tight.
Nothing like a pair of 1.4, i bought a new pair for 150 USD, best boot, super comfy and light

Such a shame they stopped making the Evospeed model! Those were the best football cleats ever made specially for dribblers and wingers! I get the durability problem in them but you can always adjust to make the material slightly thicker while maintaining its lightweight weight. They need to bring it back ASAP!

Puma went from having the best Bang for the Buck high end speedboots to having by far the worst.

kinda Unisport, but not really, since they make varied videos, and their boot reviewer dude (Jay Mike) which also participates in some of the tutorials, is good friends with Josh
The reason why this guy don’t have a million subs is that his channel is more about product reviews,football boots education on fit,maintenance and other few things. Unisport might be the one but they’re completely different thing. Other large OG football boots channels have either disappeared or just don’t put the same amount of effort that they used to back in the days
