Jay, its great that you have started to review more TF shoes rather than the normal FG and AG shoes. There is huge demand in Vietnam to see more of this review from reputable RUclipsr as you. Congrats for the start of new things!
I sent my Morelia Neo Elite FG boots to Lee&Yang in South Korea and they did an amazing job at replacing the sole plate with a very good TF sole. It cost around £80 including P&P. One very happy customer.
As a Bangladeshi and turf is a huge demand and most of the people wear Turf instead of boots and Turf just looks so cool and I wish people give it more attention.
All my kids use these type of shoes on AG here in California. They have never had grip issues unless it's dumping rain... Which is rare here really. I find them safer and frankly perfect for AG.
I find them to be super comfortable and flexible due to the softer soleplate. Slip issues will be really noticeable if you are playing an early morning game and the humidity/dew point is high and the surface is moist. Once the sun dries it out they are back to perfect.
Totally agree about the New Balance at the TOP !! They’re 🔥🔥🔥 But in Asia, we don’t like much the thick and sturdy outsole like the Mundial, Pred, King (and also, They are HEAVY) So my top 5 would be 1. NB PRO 2. Tiempo 10 pro 3. Asics c3 ff tf 4. Mzn Alpha Elite 5. Puma Future 7 pro
Asics c3 ff tf is really good. An all leather boot that somehow still weighs only around 250 grams. Compare that to the old Adidas Copa Mundial Team TF, which are around 360 grams.
Thn u so much for video😊 Exactly what many of us are looking for, Nobody talks about turf shoes although they are in high demand❤ Personally they are best choice 1. They can be used on both hard natural ground and AG 2. More stability and no injuries 3. Comparatively cheap 4. U can also wear with Jeans as casual sneakers 5. They dont injure other players during game as made of rubber outsole
Great video FINALLY a tf list , here in Canada we mostly just use turf fields so this list definitely came in handy hopefully we can get a full review of those new balance furon 7+ tf please 🙏 would love to order a pair just not too sure on sizing and durability
Thanks a lot for the excellent advice about TF or turf shoes, had a bad experience using the orange puma ultras FG/AG on turf I suffered a succession of injuries from ankle to my latest hamstring injury, being an all action player defending, scoring and tackling so all the turns sprints on turf messed me up big time, I eventually got a pair of adidas predators, only used them once as I’m recovering but that one time I had a good time doing what I enjoy skills. Good job on the great work you are doing, with love for the channel and community keep us educated.🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Hi Jay, it’s interesting to know about your preferences when it comes to turf boots, especially the ones that have high, thick outsoles and cusioning. In Vietnam, turf boots are usually played in 5-a-side/futsal games so the ones that have lower profile/outsoles like the Vapor 15 Pro, Academy TF, Phantom GX2 TF or Mizuno boots are more liked because they provide mobility and flexibility during tight and quick movements like dribbling. Not to mention they are a lot lighter than Puma or Adidas boots too. But great video nonetheless 👍
@@1111IIIIII very durable. I've accidentally kicked really hard into the ground when shooting. No sole separation yet. Not slippery unless it just rained on the AG. But it defers from people to people. If you are afraid it may be slippery, then a more grippy option would be the Mizuno Alpha Elite AG.
They’re great shoes for sure, I’ve just had a couple of pairs break on me rather quickly. Gone through a few pairs of the current generation already, so never really considered it 😬 /Jay
I’ve been running Diadora Calcettos. They fit a wider foot, are made of leather, and are usually on some type of discount. Similar to Addidas Copas. I’ve even played on damp grass and never had a slipping problem. I’ve had over 40 years of soccer playing background and they are one of the best shoes I’ve ever worn.
I play 7v7 indoor about 3 times a week on a 3G AG field and my go-to AG cleats for a competitive game are the Mizuno Alpha Japan AG. For more relaxing games, I’ve only liked Vapor 15 Pro TF and Mizuno Morelia AS because of their low profile. It’s hard for me to dribble and pass/shoot with bulky and high profile shoes because the sole ends up making contact with the ball.
Vapor 15 TF Pro are the best shoes out there…the air zoom in the heels is just impressive, like running on clouds. also suitable for wide feet unlike most of these in the video
Check the morelia neo IV pro AG Bemused as to why it's not on this list.. beautiful boots and the studs are very short on this model. Perfect for 3G upwards to FG
Thanks for the tf list! I had Furon v7+ pro... but I have high of arch feet, result middle of the feet starts to hurt after awhile and half time, I had to change em out. My current go to for tf is Adidas Predator Accuracy.1, BUT I loved Adidas Predator Freak+! Laceless, but still got a nice tightness and love wearing it. Only con I had is, it broke too quickly. Less than a year, I sole was separating.
Awesome video. Are turf shoes ultimately safer on AG? Where I play - each game is on a different pitch - they are all AG but vary in thickness so trying to decide which I should use and safety for knees / ligaments is probably #1 priority. I bought the Furon V7 Pro TF based on this video and love them - just want to make sure I'm using the right / best type of boot for my situation!
As I got older, wearing regular FG soccer cleats caused me fatigue and pain, so I started wearing AG or MG for the last three years. In terms of post-match fatigue, TFs are the best option, but they're heavy and slippery, so it's not easy to use them often. I still keep a TF as a backup for when I'm not feeling well, so these days I carry a Puma Future Ultimate MG and a Nike Phantom GX pro TF. My other TF is Desporte's TessaLight pro2, which has a superb fit and grip, but I don't use it much because it's heavy.
I am in my mid 40's and I'm not quite to this point yet, but I have been thinking about this. It would be great to have a few FG models that could prioritize underfoot comfort. I find TF shoes can do the job on some pitches but the traction isn't always there on others.
Thank you for this video. Especially in urban parts of Germany old AG pitches are Standard and Turf is the only reasonable way to go! ❤ Please repeat this type of video every year.
I feel like on older AG pitches these TF boots are okay when the pitch is really bone dry. As soon as the pitch is wet or even just moist, I feel like TF just doesn’t offer the grip I’m looking for, there’s this certain amount of “slipping” and they just don’t bite enough. and then I rather choose something with a bit longer studs, for example the Puma MG (or the adidas 2G/3G).
I love you Jay! Unisport is the best, you guys are always reviewing AG and turf boots as well. Here in Singapore 🇸🇬, we use AG and turf boots. Your videos are always helpful.
I have 3 out of the 5 Jay presented, the Preds, Copa Mundial and the Tiempo. They are great boots. I have love x hate relationships with Puma line of boots. However, the surprise is the NB. I would love to get one and try it. Great content as usual!
@@RagingMist The latest Preds are quite narrow however the Predator Accuracy fits well on my foot. If you have wide foot, Copa and Tiempo are great option however I feel the Copa is just comfy but I didn't feel good connection with the ball. My current boot is the Mizuno Morelia TF. Great out of the box and fits all type of foot.
I haven’t tried a lot of those types of shoes, but I feel they lack the rigidity of their regular grass counterparts when doing aggressive cuts, so my foot is not as well stabilized and doesn’t feel « as one » with the shoe. Am I the only one? Which are the « sturdiest » TF shoes in your opinion?
I liked it back when I tried the Crazyrush colourway - just haven't been able to find it in Europe since that one came out. Can only seem to dig up the Leagues these days. But it's a good shoe. /Jay
I have the Furon v7+ TFs. Best TF boot I've worn, and I've worn some good ones (Japanese brands Desporte, Athleta, and Asics are the other best brands for TF boots, but they can be hard to get outside of Japan). New Balance kind of came out of nowhere with their newest TF boots. They've got first tier uppers on a TF outsole, while Nike, Puma, Adidas, and even Mizuno all use takedown uppers on their modern TF boots.
Yeah I really want to try some of the TF shoes from Japan, but they're a complete myth in Europe. Hence the 'Top 5 best boots that we have on Unisport' mention in the beginning. NBs stuff is phenomenal. /Jay
Ya Jay was at #2 and I'm like no way he's gonna leave out new balance. I got the v7+ pros and have been blown away by them. Super light, super comfy, and responsive.
I wear TF boots on AG pitches. With the rubber bottom (cushion) it helps my day to day recovery as an older player. I'll admit the grip isn't the best but staying pain-free is crucial for me.
Turf shoes are fun, the sole is real grippy on the ball for sole roles, elasticos, etc. Don't use em on real grass though because they will be real slippy.
great vid! how do you compare the vapor 15 tf pro to the gx 2 pros? I have the vapors and they are great but they are breaking apart. I dont know which on to buy
That was my experience as well - really good shoes, but I didn't really like the durability of the Mercs if I'm honest. I've gone through a couple of pairs already. /Jay
How do the New Balance 442 V2 Pro Turf compare to the Team Turf? The teams seem to be leather, doesn't seem to have the fuel cell and the soles have a different pattern. Just wondering your thoughts on it?
Thanks, Jay! What do you think about the Adidas Speed Boots TF Version (Crazyfast/Speedportal/Speedflow) ? Been using them for a while, the upper rips after half a season, but i habe really narrow feet and every other model is to wide.
They are great… I’ve been using them the past 4 months and they’re fantastic. Good amount of cushion, The leather breaks in really nice, and fairly light weight…They’re significantly lighter than the team mundials.
What do you think about Future 7 Pro Cage. I know it's not great model overall but just ordered few sizes to check on sale for only 75€ and wonder if it's good deal or they are so bad being far away from your list ?
Great video mate, I was going to go for the predators because I’m a big fan but am now drawn to the Furon v7. Is the shooting on the v7 as good as on the predators?
Aye man fr finally a tf video. Hey Jaymike I know it’s a reach that you’ll see this comment. But are the “predator 94 shoes “ turf shoes as well?? Just asking cause it says shoe but has the same sole as the mundial team. And are they performance shoes?
Turf season is almost over in my neck of the woods, but I will be in the market for next year. Thanks for this list. I have a feeling it will be NB for me. On the Pumas - did you find the big rubber lip around the front of the shoe to be too grippy? I felt that with my Puma 1.4 TF's and IC's and I found that hampered my touch.
I have the tiempo pro tf and they are amazing. Upper is super soft and nimble and I get incredible grip on turf. They aren’t super durable but in terms of on foot feel I don’t think they can be topped. If you are used to outdoor boots I think the low profile is only a plus
They are great shoes till the sole separates from the upper. Only took my last pair 6 mens league games. I’m done with Nike as they would not warranty it.
Mate, I want your opinion on a dilemma I'm facing. I can't differentiate between AG and Turglf grounds. They legit both look the same. Is it fine to use AG boots on turf? Or do I buy a TF shoe? Need a shoe where I can use it on both the pitches and deliver the better results, on a budget crunch😅.
For comfort and safety reasons I'd take the turf shoe. In my town the situation is similar. You could tend more towards AG if your training ground/home pitch is modern AG. Othersiss
I’d happily back the Copa Gloro TF. Got rid of my Copa Teams on the back of how good they seem. All the nice bits of the retro pair; nice leather and similiar cut, but weigh loads less with the same sole as the pred ones, plus the tongue stays down! Also loads cheaper. Happy to admit I don’t fully trust my knees with studs these days!
Oh the older I get the more I can relate to the last sentence! Funny, I tried the Copa Gloro TFs and never really felt that much at home in them. They're definitely solid, but I just liked the Mundial Teams so much better. 😅 /Jay
In terms of quality of materials, Adidas Copa and it's not close. The only issue with it is the sole plate heel is so narrow I find myself turning my ankle way more. I switched to the new Copa pure elite and leather is definitely lower quality, but the extra stability of the wider sole plate is worth it, and I'm happy with the protection it offers, because tons of people still wear studs. Will give the NB a look when in the market again.

All said & done, Mizuno needs to make their TF/AS models more readily available outside of Asia.
Here in Brazil we have Mizuno but their midsoles are too hard, very low cushioning
mizuno`s TF is for Futsal

My Adidas Mundial Team tf still going strong after 6/7 years. The tip to make the tongue stay down is to water it and put binder clips while drying 👍🏽

Aye man fr finally a tf video. Hey Jaymike I know it’s a reach that you’ll see this comment. But are the “predator 94 shoes “ turf shoes as well?? Just asking cause it says shoe but has the same sole as the mundial team. And are they performance shoes?
Which one do you consider better between these two? Phantom GX 2 or Tiempo Legend 10?
Thank you for this video! You guys actually read my cmt.
I would put the Nike The Premier III TF with the Mundial. At least honorable mentions 😅
Yeah, those things can take a beating - solid shout, definitely could've gone in as well. /Jay
Is are the insoles removable on the Tiempos?
More Tf boot videos please. That's what we play most
Maturing as a footballer is seeing TF boots as a viable option.
100%.
Awesome. Perfect
Finally !! TF SHOES ❤
What do you recommend for wide foot?
Diadora Brasil Sala are perfect 👌 and been reduced currently I've noticed, I've payed £90 for them in the past theyre at 45 on prodirect
I never noticed the vamp bumper to be too grippy, no - but there's definitely a bit of texture from it which I personally liked. /Jay
Othersiss
What you think about the tiempo emerald tf shoe ? Would they make this list?
Can it be used for cricket AstroTurf pitches?
Got play semi on tf tonight, legend 10 all the way
I’d happily back the Copa Gloro TF.
😅 /Jay
@@unisportfair one. Thanks for the work. ⚽️⚽️⚽️
I understand that the weight is not that important compares to FG boots, whereas the predator tf are much heavier than many other tf shoes…
how the torsion system? didn't mentioned it but it's really important
I wear Mizuno Morelia Neo 3s and they’re great 👏🏻I bought Morelia Alpha Elite AGs and they’re super comfortable and durable.
Good job brother, love from 🇮🇳
