I met the blues king. I helped him onto a plane in SLC, UT. I even got to carry Lucille to the plane. I got him a frozen yogurt and he gave me his autograph and a pick from him pocket!! He is so nice. I love him!!!
I recall being blown away when I first heard BB King's music and was even fortunate enough to have heard him play live in concert at least once before he left us. The thrill is not gone Mr King, it remains forever in the gift of music you shared with us. May you rest in peace.
There are even better. You just dont know them. For god sake. 7 billion ppl and you think there's no one? They are shy, they are hiding, they just dont bealive in themselves, they are there. Trust me.
Mellow, cool, sad, full of regret, talented, superb minimalist lyrics, this song just puts you in the groove. The uncoolest dude in the world could be cool just by sitting there and listening to this.
when you see bb live the trumpet dude adds an energy that seriously at times makes the show go to a level that you would have thought was impossible from a group of elderly gentleman lol
Blues music is about celebrating what you have, what you lost, what you will have again. Either you have the love for the Blues or your don't. Pop in one of the 3 kings (BB, Albert and Freddie) and it all works out man... Keep Bending them Strings B!
I'm from Memphis and first saw B.B. King at the 1st or 2nd Beale Street Blues Festival in 1976. Beale Street wasn't renovated yet and he played on a portable stage from Dixie Rents and there was a chain link fence around the area for the people who did or did not pay. We had had a lot of racial tension since Martin Luther King was killed, especially in that part of town, but not that night. The atomosphere was almost reverant since everyone there loved the blues.
I found "The Thrill Is gone" right about the time I lost the words "I Love You" somewhere between the sheets of a strangers bed...Thanks Mr. King for getting me through....
there are better technical players than bb, but for passion he blows them all away, thats why hendrix was also the best because he played with his heart on his sleeve
I was watching this when I was 11 years old on an old black and white tv (we didn't have color). He was on a daytime show and I thought "this is the best sound I ever heard" that guitar and the timing...it was hypnotic and this is still one of my favorite all time songs.
The musicians are out there - just harder to find them, these musicians left a legacy thats been picked up in home studios and bars all over the world.
Best example that...to be successful in the music industry; you don´t have to be good looking or whatever for that matter. Ever since I was a teenager I liked BB King´s music and specially this version moves my feelings from all those giirls that I spent good times until the Trhill went away
@daMANdaMYTHdaMEDVIN Word man! The blues is the shit when you're down, When I am down I listen alot to the blues. It doesn't make me feel sad, it doesn't make me feel happy. But it makes me feel better.

@InfamousYG I'm 37 now, and I started liking B.B. when I was about 14. Good music penetrates any age.
