i think you need to redo these videos on bolt carriers. There is certainly alot more choices available now.
Also thank you Brownells and Optics Planet for sending our man some gear!!!
I second that brother!!!
Free advertisement by an industry guy with a valuable opinion, ans some mfg. dont wanna play. Sad. You are a true class act Chris!!! I have and love the Lantac. Beautiful form and function, you'd think they'd value kind words about them. Keep up the outstanding work!!!!!
Must agree with OP that a PROPERLY chromed bolt carrier assembly would be hard to beat.
Recently shot my LMT AR-10 with the POF roller cam and it works great.
Thanks for turning me on to the POF roller cam in past videos, Chris.
Great to see you back on RUclips !
Great info Chris. If you want to laugh, watch this video with CC on. Bolt carrier= Bull Terriers, book carriers, ball carriers, and something about JP enterprises and the old Nephilim cutting edge. It goes on like that...
Video idea: comprehensive video on the different .308/Heavy AR’s and their differences between receivers, bolts, barrels, and rails. Doing a diamondback db10 build and learned they use dpms thread pitch on an AR10 pattern receiver.
What better way to end a long day at work!!!! Made my night seeing a new upload from you guys. Thanks for the awesome presentation
I have a Young Manufacturering 5.56 carrier, 1000s of rounds and cleans up so quick and fast with their chrome finish and still looks like brand new
Make battle rifles great again.
But haven't you heard, our next slogan(for 2020) will be "Keep Battle Rifles Great!"
(Im sure you understand the reference.)
Great timing! Just about to go to bed. This should help me sleep again. Love your videos!
Thank You Chris Blessings to you and your family.
Good stuff. I have a Tool Craft NiB bcg that I got for around $100 and it's doing well in an 18 inch rifle length gas Aero 308.
Don't say that. More money is always bette
I have 3 308 bcgs and to be honest toolcraft (a military oem for 5.56 carriers) is the best bang for buck. They make single eject, double, and different coatings. Just 2 cents
I have a PWS Mk216 308, and the cam pin is gouging the absolute crap out of the receiver. I just got a POF cam pin for it.
Thank You ...
Why does some one not take every improvememt to all of these and make One AMAZING bolt carrier group. Is it just cost or is it that some of these upgades dont work well with others?
Are the blown primers more of a bolt/firing pin issue or the ammo?
interesting no Aero Precision??
Love these videos sir. Just started building an AR-10, any updated suggestions?
Always good stuff! What do you think about the Aero AR10 bcg's?
I would not use a JP HP Bolt in an AR10 ever again. Rifle started short cycling after I installed it. Went back to standard Tool Craft carrier and immediately rectified the problem. I have yet to find a load, either 7.62x51 or .308, that wont work. JP bolt seems like a mouse trap to me.
JP is just overpriced hype. I use Toolcraft in both AR10 and AR15's and they are exceptional. I have heard good things about Faxon too. Might give them a try next.
I'm on the fence still about mine
Your internal surfaces on your carrier are probably not tight enough to operate with the one piece gas rings JP bolts come with.
The JP bolt will operate normally with standard gas rings more than likely.
You should contact them, there a great company. They know there shit! I have shot many many different ARs they are easily among the best.
@@JohnBrowningsGhost your probably smarter than most RUclips gun experts.
Hey Chris, would the POF roller cam work in the LMT BCG? Have you tried it?
They work in the .308. The .223 Bolt Carrier would require the carrier key replaced with the one POF provides.
what happened to the Daniel Defense BCG from the DD5V1? i could have sworn i saw it the first time i watched.
Chris I know your an ar guy but what is favorite ar-15? And what is your favorite rifle period? Ar, scar, cz bren etc?
Did you say that you were running the POF cam pin on external piston 5.56? I have an LMT ,would I benefit runing the POF cam pin?
How would you classify the .308 BCG from Aero Precision?
Too bad the Gem-tech and Bootleg AR10 BCG are no longer made.
2A- Armament may be one of the last AR10 adjustable BCG from the ejection port side of the rifle.
Any thoughts on LaRue Tactical OBR
Can the POF USA cam pin be installed without using there replacement gas key?
Yes on the AR10 carriers and external piston AR15 carriers. Just not the internal piston carriers.
@@SmallArmsSolutions thanks! I enjoy your videos and quick response! I accidentally ordered an ar15 gas key instead of an AR10 gas key from POF have you had any experiences with their customer service? I am having trouble returning them.
What's the difference between a full auto AR-10 bolt carrier and a semi-auto one?
Is the lantac bcg compatible with lmt rifles can’t find an lmt bcg and found a few lantacs in the site it says dpms only I will evenly get an lmt just want to get this build done
Any thoughts on the Sharp's 308 XPB?
Are these bolt carriers interchangeable between the AR10, SR25, and DPMS platforms?
Also Chris, given the chance to pick only one BCG to go into battle with, which would you choose?
jacobs akcat LMT. Primarily for the bolt. I do like the chrome character.
@@SmallArmsSolutionsI offer apologies, I asked for ar10 content without knowing how well you had already covered it.
Oh man. What was the price on the Lantac
Stay firsty my friends....
What are your thoughts on the Sharps Rifle Company bcg for 308??
What about toolcraft 308 bcgs.
Do I need dual ejectors on a 20” barreled rifle?
KAMP8505 no sir
What bolt carrier would you recommend for a 260 Remington in an AR 10 platform
The 556 version of the LMT was designed for a 14.5" carbine length rifle. Does the 308 version have the same requirements in barrel and gas length?
No sir, that cam track is industry standard. Only the Enhanced carrier is specific.
Any opinions for/against the Aero Precisions 308 BCG in black nitride?
What is the tool that you have in your hand? 🐢🇺🇸🐢🇺🇸🐢🇺🇸
What about brownells bcg's?
I don’t have one in .308 but I have a 5.56 titanium coated bcg that I love in my 20 inch .223 wylde. I would highly recommend them for what my late comment is worth.
is there a mod needed for the roller cam pin to fit in a lwrci repr bolt carrier
Nope, drops right in
Do any of these have full supported bolt like on an enhanced LMT in 5.56?
LMT is the only one I have seen who offers a full auto carrier
@@SmallArmsSolutions I should reiterate. LMT (and formerly LWRC) has an enhanced bolt that fully supports the rear of the cartridge unlike a USGI bolt. I was wondering which 308 bolts have this as well
@@lioncelica5170 I have never seen a fully supported .308 bolt. Not necessary.
I just built a AR308 and having ejecting problems it did have a carbine stock on it its got a 20 inch barrel on it I just changed it and put a luth rifle stock kit on it its still having short stroking problems. I been thinking could it be my bcg
Todd McDonald possible loose gas key. You are leaking gas someplace
I traded it off
Suggestions on your preference for a replacement for a Armalite AR-10B with no forward assist? Thank you for all your very informative video's!!!!!!
San Tan Tactical has a nice one. Forward assist notches are fine on the carrier even if there isn’t a forward assist on the receiver. LMT is really nice as well as LanTac
@@SmallArmsSolutions Thank you very much !! Love your videos

Algorithm
If they are high pressure Bolts then why don't almost all of these MF's HPT/MPI their bolts? I know a set of reasoning for it but that has been debunked by other knowledgeable people in the industry and it just seems silly not to. Why pay extra for a BCG if it doesn't even have the proper testing (hence why I buy Aero AR-10 BCGs)?
It’s $$$ and fixturing and having the set up in house
@@SmallArmsSolutions That is understandable but it's hard for (as a customer) to justify paying X more for a JP vs Aero without that testing. No offense to any company, I'm sure they are good BCGs given their reputations.
Should a 308 bolt stand up without collapsing from the weight of the carrier like a 556 does ?
Yes.
