Situation about there not being enough shredding keyboard videos is still a thing over 10 years after this video was released... guitars galore in YT, we really need good keyboard guides here :) Neo-classical needs to rise again... it's starting to get lost :(
Sorry to double-post, but I'm so glad that you showed this! I sat down at my keyboard and refused to leave until I could play this with the song! After about an hour of straight key-pounding, I succeeded! (Those triplets really threw me for a loops) Rock on, dude!
@Jurgen5586 it's D minor, A major, D minor, C major, F Major, C major, F major, A major and repeat. Neoclassical is lots of major minor interplay... Someone like eg Yngwie Malmsteen uses a lot of harmonic minor too. Good luck!
Hey man. I have been playing keyboard for 12 years now but I lack tips and techniques like this one! I am not sure I will use it while playing live but it definitely is a hell of an exercise so thank you very much :)
This is great to see these techniques and riffs being shared,..so thanks for that. I believe persons such as yourself should be sharing the info related to repetitive activity injuries as well and proper technique. These injuries are potential career enders and can turn your hobby into pain which will render one unable to play until healed which can take up to a year in severe cases of tendonitis,..Bin there done that!!
I'm considering the Korg M50-73 or the Yamaha MOX. The problem is that I can't decide on which one would be best because I don't live near any music stores and can't try them out side-by-side. The MOX seems to have a lot of helpful performance / composition / recording features that might make it a better deal for my music, which is one-man-rock-band (in studio, not live) so built in accompaniment and performances along with ease of use in making up a song are very useful to me. Thoughts?
Hey I was wondering If danny could perhaps do a video for shredding down and up the board or techniques on it ie(c5-b5-a5-g4-f4 so on in major or minor scale). I'm not sure if I'm not that good or if its possible especially with one hand :/ would be a cool tutorial though (y) thanks, Ash \m/ This video was great
I'm learning to write my own keyboard neo classical shreds/improv stuff. What scale are you using in this shred? And what scales are useful for writing neo classical pieces? Also what chord progression are usually used for the darker pieces? Any answer is appreciated. :)
Awesome. Rick Wakeman would be proud! What patch are you using on the M50? A preset, or something of your own?. I just got mine, and am learning the board, but have a long way to go.
@MKKredas Hmm you need to relax your hands more. I get the same when I try to play guitar, Make sure your hands are in proper position too, don't let them slouch...
Hey dudes! Nice video, thanks a lot! Though I can only play the whole thing around 3-5 times in a fast speed untill my left hand starts cramping. What am I doing wrong?
AWESOME! Thanks a lot for showing this man! How do you like the M50? I was really interested in getting a Korg for the longest time, but I finally 'settled' on a Motif XF8.
It's generally a good idea to break down one hand at a time, then combining them once you've achieved proficiency. Trying to do both at the same time can be... very frustrating, to say the least. xD I'm not an expert, just talking from personal experience.
The algorithm has just blessed me with this video 13 years later. How nice.

Ah, I can't do that staccato on the left hand, my fingers get to tensed...I think I need to practice more. :(

Let us learn how to pull an Alex Staropoli on those keys!
'too much' - There's never enough.

Thanks for that ! I found plenty of tutorials and tabs for guitar, but there's no equivalent for keyboard, which is a shame. Seize the keys !
