♒︎ WHO ARE WE?
We are Gabe and Paula (Pau). We bought our van at the beginning of 2020 with the idea of converting it during the weekends. But then, because of the global pandemic that has changed all our lives we suddenly found ourselves with a lot of time on our hands! After finishing at the beginning of August we started our epic journey to Spain to see Paula's family. Now, we're back in the UK and it's time for some renovations!

My van back in the day cost me £50 to buy and about £1500 to do up and I sold it for £1300 a few years later. Loved that van! Great video.

Love it!! And the price, wow I was surprised. I thought that total price was totally worth it! The cost of the van is the tricky one for me, I don't want a brand new one because of the price, but at the same time, getting a used one, and then putting all that effort in and your van's life is tied very strongly to the condition of the van. What will you do when the van packs in, are you the mechanically clever types that would plan to just swap the engine out or whatever goes fix that? Do you have a video on choosing your Sprinter? Sorry if you have, I only just saw your channel and have not had a chance to fully look around.

Just bought a citreon extra long wheelbase 2020 28,000 miles for 25k on finance going to convert it into a totally off-grid campervan. Going to live in in full time instead of paying rent. Hopefully if I go to sell it in a few years being a lot newer with low milage and a good conversion I won't lose too much on it. But very nervous about starting. Need to make sure I know exactly how I want it to be before doing anything irreversible. I figured around 5k to convert. How tall is the inside of your fan? And width?

Questions you didn't answer are your shower? do you have hot water? the heater under the front seat was that heating for space? The toilet? Can you hookup to external power and water? What were your skills going into this project? Mechanical? Elecrrtical?

Interesting... It's about the same it costs in Mexico... The van itself could be not too expensive or cost the same new as an apartment (or even a small house) ...
In mexican pesos it's around 150k... Aprox. One year of salary for a middle class employee 🤔

The dining table drops down onto the wood strips under the front edges of the seats and the seat back cushions are placed over it. You can see the wood support strips at 3:05 when they're mentioning the cost of the table leg.
