Thank you for your videos PCsimplest. With your help I landed a sweet Help desk Technician job! 🍕🍕🍕
As a 40 year old career changer who is now working at a hospital in the it department this is right on. My advice is learn iot. Iot is everything.
Hello Zac,First of all I would like to say thank you for these videos... they have been very helpful without being to technical. I would however like you to do a video on the education side of things if possible?. I know from past videos you have expressed the way you learned most of your skills is by experience and its an awesome/practical way to develop the required skills for your career but I would like more information on education and how it helps with progressing in the I.T. field. Also the benefits of doing a degree or diploma and the jobs that they open up for you. Thanks again
Can you do a video explaining how many hours a day/week you typically work in your current job? In past jobs? In the higher positions you're looking at? How often are you on call, how often are you ACTUALLY called, and how much of your time does that unexpectedly take up? How often do you have to work weekends, nights, holidays, etc. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for shedding so much light on this industry!
Thanks i appreciate the information
I would like to know about the problems solving technique !
Hey
In my community college they only offer computer information systems only. Some websites say that computer information systems and information technology are the same and other websites say that are different. My major is information technology. There is also computer information technology that i saw online, is it different from computer information systems and computer technology?
Hey Zac! Only seen in full one video. Awesome video about what to know before going into IT. I have more questions. Is there another way of communicating other than commenting here? Let me know! Thanks a bunch man!
+Run-N-L8 Thank you! Yeah you could always hit me up via facebook - facebook.com/pcsimplest - twitter - @pcsimplest or pcsimplest@gmail.com
Cool. I will do that. Sorry if my comment came through more than. Once. It didn't even indicate to me it had gone at all. So I gave up. But low and behold it went through. Headed over to facebook to look you up. Thanks!
You Rock!
+tom pa No way! You rock! Thanks for watching.
I love that he is in to Magic The Gathering I see his boxes in the background. .. I too love to play M:TG
+Kimberly Carlson haha thanks. I'm definitely a nerd what can I say. What is your favorite color(s)?
+I.T. Career Questions I would have to say I'm fairly new at this point I have only been playing about 6 months, but I like white and green because of their utilization of raw power and how they have cards such as fog and pacifism that stops your aponent in their tracks. also I like blue counter cards as well such as cancel and negate. very low manna cost yet highly effective in getting rid of opponents spells that would be a big threat to me. But I like mountains and plains best for right now I have the most experience with them.
+Kimberly Carlson omg I meant forest and plains not mountains and plains
+Kimberly Carlson That's awesome. I've been playing for about 20 years. Blue and Green are my favorite colors.

Did you get the job?
Do you see your hospital ever moving away from the bloat of Windows to a *nix environment as you move those old servers out of production?
+Kevin Nishimura No, definitely not. Windows has such a strong hold on environments like ours and even more so on the different applications that we use that require it.
Honestly, the way I see it, Windows in hospitals are a mainstay... Even if it is Windows 7, I'm not exactly sure why, but the majority of hospitals I've been to, have been using Windows 7 as the OS. I understand that the different environment would be amazing for hospitals, but I think in my opinion, the majority of applications that hospitals use are exclusively on Windows and I do not see a developer making a specialized version for a *nix environment. Although, it would help, I just don't see a developer taking the time and energy to make a new application for hospital databases and what not. Because in that case, all of the systems in the hospital would have to be changed, updated, etc. and it's just a big hassle.
Still keeping the wire
I just wanted to say, that this video is very misleading. IT is not restricted to networking and technician stuff. I studied for my M.Tech in Information Technology specializing in Software development, and before my M.Tech during my B.Tech I specialized in Business Applications. A lot of young people look for people on youtube to give them sound advice, and with people like you restricting their view of IT, they tend to think of IT as some form of lower form of CS, when in actuality IT is much more expansive and includes most of what is taught in CS too. I work as a CIO in Japan, and before that I worked as a Business Analyst in Japan, and before moving here I used to be a Software Developer in South Africa where I was born. I guess in America you are not that updated on what the rest of the world considers to be IT.
I was answering the question based on my experience. So the views and opinions that I shared are relevant to the jobs that I've had.
I have many other videos that cover different aspects of I.T. and there will be many more to come. thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
