    never ceases to amaze me how good ol' wide stereo makes everything SO much more interesting, especially with panned voices like your's here. Well done!

    Nice. With my mono synthesizers I usually put them through a sweet delay pedal for that pan/pan effect and a chorus pedal that outputs a stereo image. It's a cheap way to do a MOD without having to do the MOD. My Polysix is getting repaired. I'm glad to see some awesome MODs for these vintage sythesizers. Take care, Sam.

    I'm currently rebuilding a Polysix and somehow I was unaware of this mod. I'll have to dig in a little further - thanks for sharing!

    Patch at 4:49 reminds me of the Moog Taurus I. Was hoping you would hit some low notes with it 🙂

      @UnikatesProduction  2 месяца назад

      @@fishercawkey I see what you mean, it has nice purr for sure. It unfortunately does not quite match the taurus in the lows and kinda breaks apart when pushed too far. The lower mids are great tho!

      Thanks. I used a LUT, I belive based on the movie Baby Driver. Adjusted to my liking and then pushed the blacks to look washed out :)

    Very nice. Personally I would take those two outputs and pan them more like 50% right/left.. full on hard pan is a bit much - you could always mix in a bit of the un-panned mono output Coming here following a 'Vulture Culture' livestream to check out what this Panorama mod is all about.. sounds well worth it..

    • @UnikatesProduction
      @UnikatesProduction  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks! Yeah, this was more of a demonstration where you can really tell what is going on with the voices. WIth the hard pan, you still have space for the unaltered mono right in the middle. But it is really up to the taste, just push it through a mixer and find the ideal pan positionfor each channel.

    thanks Unikates and bravo ! I don't want to be a killjoy (well, we French, and even more so when we're Parisians like me, are known to grumble all the time ^^), because yes, the idea of a spread is really nice, but I would have found a spread like on the prophet much more interesting, where the stereo distribution is more subtle and not necessarily only on a left-right alternation. another comment talks about the subtle use of a short delay for example, I do that too, and it's great.

    • @UnikatesProduction
      @UnikatesProduction  Год назад +1

      You can create a custom "spread" profile here too, by adjusting the trims on the board inside. What I like about hard pans is that you can process the two channels separately, for example with two delays that have different settings

      Hello . @UnikatesProduction ! I always tell everyone to "read the manuals" and here I reacted without reading first. It's true that you can adjust everything on each voice. It's great! I'm going to order it

    Are the voices coming out randomly to the far pan field (eg. 100% right and 100% left)? Thats what I am hearing. Would be cool to have them pick random positions in the field like Ensoniq synths do...

    • @UnikatesProduction
      @UnikatesProduction  2 года назад +2

      There are pots inside, to assign them as you wish. I fixed in on simple L/R/L/R/L/R so I have two separate signals for both stereo cables, ie. the left cable only carries the L notes and the right the R ones. Recording through the mixer, you can adjust the "width" or better position of each side in the stereo field by messing around with the pan knobs. This also means you can add stuff like delay on each of the sides separately (I have been having fun with two BBD pedals, with different settings on mixer sends) which makes for some interesting effects. Total randomness would be cool but since this is straight-up old school analog solution, it is always determined by the positions of the pots inside.

    with block chordsand unison it sounds great but the bouncing L/R single notes of melodies and arpeggios are annoying

  • @precursor4263

    Can you turn this on and off? or once you mod it it's always there?

    • @UnikatesProduction
      @UnikatesProduction  2 года назад +1

      It is always there, but you can simply not use the 2 extra outputs and continue with the original mono one, which is unaffected.

    • @precursor4263
      @precursor4263 2 года назад

      @@UnikatesProduction ah okay so it is possible to use the mono out when I do arps for instance and the new(?) stereo out for the mod? Assuming I need to drill extra holes then. I'm doubting to buy a Polysix but with the mods it seems really worth it

    • @UnikatesProduction
      @UnikatesProduction  2 года назад +2

      @@precursor4263 Yeah quite like that. You can also have all the 3 outputs running into the mixer all the time and have the stereo ones muted or just very low in volume, for a nice wider image. Regarding the drilling - it can be done somewhat non-destructive. There is a detachable piece of steel on the back that houses the fixed PSU cable and the serial number plate. This is held on the main chassis with a few screws. I swapped the fixed cable for your standard PC PSU input, took down the serial plate, and then drilled the holes for new outputs there. It looks sleek and it is not like I drilled right into the chassis, so in theory, you can always just replace that piece of steel back for the original one, if you find it somewhere.

      Great! Are the mods available right now? And would you know if it's possible to run this mod while also running the Polysex mod? I'm picking up my polysix this Sunday.. and I anyway have to build in midi, so I was thinking I might as well build in all the others ..

    • @UnikatesProduction
      @UnikatesProduction  2 года назад

      @@precursor4263 I am not sure about the availability, check the link. As for the Polysex, I don't know, but it should not interfere, the pan mod only affects the audio signal path on its way out.
