    I’m driving a 2022 Cascadia 126 Evolution as a company driver. I love my classic KW’s and Pete’s.
Yes it’s a new truck so I have yet to see the problems but if you set it up with the DD15 the right way, for you, it’s not so bad.
One thing I don’t like is that the mirrors get in the way of cross traffic at intersections.

I think ride wise that the 579 I drove was the most comfortable, it felt planted and soaked up bumps really well. I always liked Freightliner. They're not fancy, they're a working truck. Yea they they squeak and rattle as the get older. But they are fairly comfortable. I had a double bunk years ago as a rookie company driver. Loads of space for a guy my size. I like the Volvo cabins too with the dinette setup. But I don't like how floaty Volvo's feel driving down the road. Not a fan of automatic transmission tho. Unless you're caught on the 400 on a long weekend Friday... Then the auto isn't too bad, lol. If I were ever to become a O/O I'd be taking a hard look at a Cascadia. But I'd probably pick a DD15 with a 13 or 18 manual.

@@THEDC81025 I get to run pretty light when I’m pulling my flatbed but I don’t do a lot of hills in Texas either. I’m looking for a 3408 so I can go all in on heavy haul. My C15 does the job but we have a 2 guys with 3408’s and one has a big cam Cummins nothing hauls like the old engines. In that line of work fuel economy is pointless 😩😭. When I was more national I’d average between 6.4-6.7 idling is what kills us. Now I’m home most nights so only I idle is when I’m taking my 30 or waiting too long to unload.

Imperial gallon or US gallon? You can't compare a w9 to an aero truck. I have a Columbia glider kit, 60 series, I get mid to high sevens US gallon, which is mid 9's imperial gallon. And I have no payment, and .08c mile maintenance.

Is this truck speed limited, and if so, limited at what speed? With a Paccar MX13 and an automated 12 speed on an '18 Peterbilt 579 limited to 65 mph, loaded to an avg weight of 78,000 lbs the absolute best I could get was 8 mpg (compared over 952 miles on I-15 from St George UT to Shelby MT). The typical mpg was 7.25 to 7.5. You're getting better fuel mileage pulling curtains than I was pulling a reefer! I'm surprised that the difference is that great, and it sure would add up in a hurry for a lease or owner op especially considering the crazy fuel prices we're seeing right now.

    I drive a 2004 K104 Kenworth with a C15 over here in Australia 🇦🇺
a K104 is cabover i don’t think you have that model Kenworth in America.
Occasionally i have to drive one of the V8 Scania’s 2010 model. The difference in ride between the Kenworth & the Scania minimal slightly in the Scania’s favour.
The K104’s , K108’s & K200 cabover model’s ride quality is very good & they still have good road fell unlike the Scania
The Scania 16 litre V8 is rated at 590hp. The 14.7 litre C15 Caterpillar is rated at 550hp & will go past the Scania in hills easily even with slightly more weight on. The fuel economy is almost the same.
The Kenworth cheaper to maintain & the Kenworth has a much higher resale value. & it’s a much better looking truck 😂
So which truck would you choose

I ran a new volvo last fall . Never went faster then 63 mph . And it got 9.48 mpg. I took it from Fargo nd to North Carolina, then reloaded in south Carolina and delivered that back to Minneapolis then I had to bring it back to the RDO in Fargo. I was impressed. The transmission was not working right. They updated it and that fixed it . I don't like automatic transmissions because of that. It didn't downshift pulling the hills so I had to let off the pedal then mash it to the floor to get it to downshift. Not cool. New trucks have come a long ways.

At 63 mph you should be getting closer to 10 mpg. At least I know international and kenworth from experience will. Perhaps weight or equipment issue like tire rating, apu, etc. etc. Like Ronin says, it may be a driver issue too. He's a smart man.
