I’ve been wondering why no ones made a joint or big soft plastic little catfish. You hardly ever see small to medium sized catfish because the bass eat them up or they’re in a hole
The time you put into a bait is amazing an the detail is fantastic, an when the piece flew off the sander It bout brought me to tears in laughter, truly love your content thank you for what you do.
Glad you're back, Nate! I was beginning to wonder if you had been blown away in the storm. I keep my old Crosman air pistol handy for the really pesky flies. Pump it up ten times and give a fly the 2000mph windstorm. Blows them to pieces with just that puff of air.
I’ve been watching your videos for about half a year and I still think one of the best parts is how crazy good you are at drawing and detailing those fishies
I’ve been watching for a couple years now and I love how your videos and baits have progressively gotten better over time. So cool watching this channel grow and become better
Savage gear made a 20” pike swimbait and I wanna see you try and make something to that caliber of size and weight (29 ounces) it would just be a neat vid
Your story time inspired me. I ripped the headlights out of my Mitsubishi Lancer and created a few lures and a working spaceship. Thank you for sharing!
Keep rambling on in your videos man, that's what makes me want to watch your videos. It kinda makes me feel I'm in the garage with you just watching you build these awesome baits. I would love to start making baits like you, just for a fun hobby. Keep the great content coming my man.
I live in the same area as you, we have a timber and that storm took out almost all of the older trees. We were without power for a while too. Hope you didn’t have any damage to your house. Keep up the great work.
Am I the only person who has already watched almost all his videos and still watches them again just amazed at the talent? And I know I can't be the only person who looks at those baits and is like damn I wanna fish with those.
Honestly that's one of the nicest looking baits I've ever seen and I reeeeeaaaaallly want one/need to try and make one. Thing looks amazing and just like the picture you were referencing!
Been watching ya for a few years now You a amazing shaper and lure maker I've just started finishing fiberglass on boats about half a year ago and Its similar with shaping and technique you use. I someday will hope to become as good and precise as you at detail crafting. You do amazing work and vids Man keep up the good work
honestly this is my favorite kind of video that you do. I know it takes way longer to make a lure of this size but its super satisfying when you complete it and it looks really nice, especially if its some other animal like a chipmunk
That storm the other week was stupid crazy! Went to cedar rapids for a week to help with clean-up! Glad to see you back to making baits. Love your commentary! Would love to do some topwater fall fishing with ya!
Unnecessary commentary but that's why we enjoy watching you make baits. I don't even go fishing but you are entertaining to watch/hear! Keep up the good work!
After watching so many of your videos, I've come to the conclusion that you have an amazing taste in music. It sounds like my shop when I get a chance to be in it. Keep up the amazing content bud
I made sure to show up early to this videos upload to let you know just how much I want a video from you breaking down your process and tools and such! You've inspired me to try my hand at bait making but I can't glean enough just from watching you work, I'd love a video from you breaking down your process and what tools you use and would recommend and where we can get them, what to and not to do you've learned from your years of experience, and what paints and clear coats to use!
Hello Mr Baitman, your so right, you not made enough baits for me to watch but with an extra helping from the Baker Boy's you can run but can't hide. I want more more more! 🎣🎣🏴🏴🏴
If I was going to show someone ur channel this video would be it! Back to the roots! With enough references to get anybody curious about the rest of ur videos. Showing off the true talent nd skill🤙🏻 awesome stuff man!
This might be my favorite lure to date. The same storm that came thru your area also went thru Indiana. It was quite a monster. We were spared damage, but it was a pretty good storm
Feel like its been a long time watching you. You've def gotten faster it seems and the work has gotten better( not that it was ever bad). One days are my favorite, by far.
Was beginning to think you had forgotten about us. Glad everything is ok. Good your back to the old school ways of making baits. Truly enjoyed watching this one.
I been subscribed to your channel for a few years now and I remember when you barely had over 1K subs. Now you're almost to 500K. You're crazy talented and your channel will be at 1mil in no time!
The man. The myth. The Marling.
He is back
I do enjoy the “one days” but I do miss the more in depth lure builds like this. Thanks for posting!
There is like button but not a love button. RUclips was obviously not designed for this video
Isn't it called the notification bell
@@beefygangster7889 yeah lol
@@beefygangster7889 yeah and the subscribe button 🧐🧐
You should make a golf ball lure and use it in a golf course pond.
that’s genius
Oh my god yes.
greatest idea of all time
@@hsslegg thanks
Dude. What about….. *a golf ball popper*
FINALLY HE HAS POSTED
Yay
Hallelujah!
Lucas Rottman forgot about the hurricane I live in Illinois so it’s not much of a worry for me
Hallelujah
I'm just thrilled that he didn't lose the bait on the 3rd cast
Dude that was a low blow...
Funny AF!
But low.
Do this with a mullet at 8+". I'll cover all costs and do a saltwater video for your channel.
THIS!!!
To the top so Nathan can see it!!!
Exactly! If he made detailed mullet swimbaits/glidebaits they would sell like crazy.
How much you willing to pay? How detailed?
for a quick second i was wondering how his haircut would impact the quality of the video :D
I have good memories of catching chubs in my backyard creeks when I was little, fun times.
Your should make a catfish swimbait. Meaning a swimbait in the shape of a catifhs, not a swimbait for a catfish lol. Your videos are great.
A bullhead would be siiiiiiick
Buck McClure YES!!
Then go catch and cook a big flathead!
EDIT: Or a blue cat!
Do you want it to be a paddle tail or a twitch action
Make it a soft plastic
I’ve been wondering why no ones made a joint or big soft plastic little catfish.
You hardly ever see small to medium sized catfish because the bass eat them up or they’re in a hole
Colter Wall is one of my favorite artists right now. Can't get enough!!!!
"As promised, this chub is nice and fat."
Tom Terry as it should be for a master baiter
@Ryan Kiesow garand thumb comment section is sacred. Nothing but the best for the flannel daddy.
“Unnecessary commentary”
Don’t apologize; that’s part of what we tune in for. 😋
Absolutely
I love the fact he’s just a dude in his garage making baits. Nothing crazy, nothing stupid.
TheChemist 131 this is my dream job
Amen... easy peasy
Your channel is the only thing that calms me in this crazy messed up world. Keep it up for goodness sakes!
All of your commentary is necessary, it's what makes Marling baits videos.
“Let’s get some wood”
Grabs rock
You should make a Reddit so we can post the baits we make and you can choose one every once and a while and show it in your video
Or a discord
I think I'd actually join Reddit just for this. I don't have anything worth bragging about, just looking for constructive criticism lol
The time you put into a bait is amazing an the detail is fantastic, an when the piece flew off the sander It bout brought me to tears in laughter, truly love your content thank you for what you do.
"mah little weak boy hands" 😭😭😭 I actually had tears how hard I laughed
Every day I go to RUclips hoping for a Marling Baits video. Most days I am disappointed. Today I am happy. Life is good.
"nothing in this shop is ever plugged in"
MarlingBaits
So true
Glad you're back, Nate! I was beginning to wonder if you had been blown away in the storm. I keep my old Crosman air pistol handy for the really pesky flies. Pump it up ten times and give a fly the 2000mph windstorm. Blows them to pieces with just that puff of air.
"This time I'm not going to cut my finger" is entry number 74 in the Big Book of Famous Last Words.
These videos are like watching a sitcom with a 4th wall break. Makes my day
That bad ass painting should have a bad ass frame. It'll change the look.
I’ve been watching your videos for about half a year and I still think one of the best parts is how crazy good you are at drawing and detailing those fishies
Do a power tool only video. That would be interesting
has to use a dremel for detail sanding lmao
So nice to escape from the world to the bait shop for awhile. Thank you.
It's funny to think that a tree can grow for 150 years and then it gets cut with an exacto knife and some weird dudes garage
Glad to see back to making wooden baits. They really showcase your talents.
When’s the big Roman made swimbait gonna get done
I’ve been watching for a couple years now and I love how your videos and baits have progressively gotten better over time. So cool watching this channel grow and become better
Savage gear made a 20” pike swimbait and I wanna see you try and make something to that caliber of size and weight (29 ounces) it would just be a neat vid
Best looking Creek Chub going around !!!
This ones going into the "Tackle Bag" !!!
Hard Time Killing Floor Blues while carving a chub. Nice.
Finally! More of the fishing and carving we all missed so greatly!
I tried to make my own bait but it’s hard when you don’t have the right things to do it with 😂
Watch the 'no power tools' video. It Will give you an Idea of what you need as the bare minimum :)
Yes I have been waiting for another video....so glad and happy....liking the the new workshop...
Wish you could teach me how to make those baits in person
Dude you’re the best. I’m glad you guys finally have power. Keep up the good vibes man thank you so much
I forgot about the world's most expensive swim bait. RIP to 1lb bass.
Truly the Bob Ross of bait making.

“Yeah, you can get that from my nards.”
Your story time inspired me. I ripped the headlights out of my Mitsubishi Lancer and created a few lures and a working spaceship. Thank you for sharing!
you could probably salvage the rod by changing the tip guide.
That bait is a work of art. You just get better. Thanks for explaining the brush painting segment.
If these ever go on sale then ill take ur entire stock lol. Also first lol
I really hope you understand how much inspiration you give your fellow bait makers
You should make a bait that looks like your face it would be sick
Now ima have nightmares thanks
Hell ya a face bait. Or my ugly mug lol
Someone sent him a homemade bait of his whole body
FishInWater TV oh lol
@@fishinwatertv8731 no cause i gotts a small
sound of the carving is satisfying
you should sell merch and randomly include a handmade bait....

Your welcome.
Gotta be honest, I’ve rewatched this video at least 5 times. This is my favorite swimbait you’ve made by far.
When will you make a swimming person lure
I live in the same area as you, we have a timber and that storm took out almost all of the older trees. We were without power for a while too. Hope you didn’t have any damage to your house. Keep up the great work.

So appreciative of the non-one-day build. Your one days are incredible but that was a thing of beauty
This is one of the prettiest baits you've made!!! Can't wait for more!
Love the return to the detailed carving.
I was concerned for you and your family’s safety. I’m glad to see you guys weathered the the storm. Love your videos. On to the next bait!
This is giving off a lot of old marling baits vibes, and I like it.
I think this is one of the cleanest lure you ever maid. Very beautiful.
I was having withdrawals!!! 😂 Had to keep myself sane by tying flies!! Glad youre still alive and well!! 👍👌🎣
I’ve been on a marling baits RUclips binge for the past few weeks and this bait is my favorite by far…. Well this one and the small mouth swim bait.
Honestly that's one of the nicest looking baits I've ever seen and I reeeeeaaaaallly want one/need to try and make one. Thing looks amazing and just like the picture you were referencing!

I'm liking this 720p @60 frames video it really shows great detail and doesn't chew the data away like me with a steak on Fridays! Keep em coming!

By far my favourite bait making channel on YT
Dude... thank you... you don’t even know how massively I needed you to upload today, tank you, indeed.
So many ideas pop into my head watching marlins videos
I think that's my favorite bait of yours from 2020. Something about it is just cool. Welcome back!
Good to see you back, missed your carving skills and of course Chip, great painting btw
So good to see and hear you're good! Family lives in your area so I know how bad the storms were
I'm glad your back. Glad to see you. love what your doing.
Awesome lure, and loved the Matt Heckler jamming in the background! Glad i stumbled across this video
That thing is awesome, carving and paint job are exquisite. Well done man! Well done.
This might be my favorite lure to date. The same storm that came thru your area also went thru Indiana. It was quite a monster. We were spared damage, but it was a pretty good storm
Awesome to see you back , beautiful bait , nice looking rod , thanks for the video
You have inspired me to do something like this in my channel. I do a lot of fly fishing, so I will make a fly, then fish with it!
Feel like its been a long time watching you. You've def gotten faster it seems and the work has gotten better( not that it was ever bad). One days are my favorite, by far.
Great detail on Creek Chub--that's on to be proud of!
Welcome back. We've missed you. I check 3 or 4 times a day for your video, finally, here it is and it didn't disappoint
Love the bluegrass background music. I especially love Alison Krauss and Dan Tyminski
Sanding is the most important step in finishing anything!
Feels like it has been forever great to see the new shop is doing well
Was beginning to think you had forgotten about us. Glad everything is ok. Good your back to the old school ways of making baits. Truly enjoyed watching this one.
Nice to see you go back to making some wooden baits again! Well done! 👊
Glad to see you back. I hope it will all work out ok. Hey now. Nothin better than good ol' flystrip soup!
I like the soft plastic stuff, but THIS is what I really want to see!!! Great bait! Great video!
I been subscribed to your channel for a few years now and I remember when you barely had over 1K subs. Now you're almost to 500K. You're crazy talented and your channel will be at 1mil in no time!
So glad this video is up it felt like a lifetime waiting for it, keep up the good work 👍
