Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Yeah I second what D Rath said. No fish species in the world is as interesting as Salmon are if you factor in their entire lifecycle and how they shape entire ecosystems. More fun facts:
Kokanee are an introduced species here in CT. They're terrified of rainbow trout; a steelhead will eat two adult kokanee per day. A 1" spoon with rainbow trout colors will spook them and you won't catch squat.
As the freshwater-only variety, they don't get as large.
While they do sometimes eat shrimp, filter feeding zooplankton is about 99% of their diet. How do we catch them? Well, they're *ssholes. They harass and beat up smaller fish when they encounter them. Kokanee can and will follow, harass, and beat up your bait for miles when trolling. They strike quicker if you tip your bait with marinated sweet corn that smells like zooplankton.
Yeah, they're *ssholes. Best fun fact ever.

Fun, I live where they're native and protected. Sockeye are pretty intensely respected and protected as a major food source for both people, and the salmon-eating orca population. The introduced perch population is an issue with them, as the perch breed and eat them out of house and home.

Man, that bate was absolutely beautiful!
I don't blame you for calling it at the one fish, I wouldn't want to risk loosing that beauty either.

Hmm, what would a lure look like with something like 10, 20 or 50 clear coats...
I'm just asking, it's not like I want you to made one...
(by the way, I'm a French viewer, sorry for my English that may be bad)

Sockeye salmon don't turn red until they spawn. In the ocean they are a non-descript silver grey with a white belly.

Amazing bait, that Salmon really is on a new level. It seems each time you step it up a notch. Also thank you for the bonus fishing shout out, glad those baits brought you some luck.

They are not always red like that. That’s spawning colors. They don’t have the hooked face either until later in spawn. The land locked version of them are called Kokanee. They are silver most of their lives with a back that has a blue hue to it. That’s why they call them “Blue backs”. They one of the hardest fighting fish there is. Super fun and one of the best eating salmon there are. They are a smaller salmon for the most part. One of my favorite species.

Dude Brosky; (Yes, I’m talking to you awesome guy who runs Marling Baits) It’s way too hot in Iowa right now to be throwing any lure on top and expect to catch a fish w it, put that lure on a wall, maybe in a picture frame for extra security or something; that bait is freaking awesome. 👍👍👍

Please make a video of the catfish tail spinner catching a monster pike.
Nice Sockeye! Idk how you have the patience to carve all the detail and the eye you have for paint is incredible. Love the videos and the channel! Keep it up!

That is a BEAUTIFUL lure!!! You are definitely the most talented and most entertaining lure maker on RUclips. I have two lure suggestions: a life-size, wild-type guppy or a Siren salamander.
