DIY Retrofitting a CFL Can Light with an LED Can Light

I replaced some of the annoying CFL lights in my kitchen with new LED lights. The old lights would flicker for a few seconds before coming, didn't produce enough light, and in general were just very annoying. The new LED lights are instant on and very bright.
These were the lights that I bought from Amazon:

I bought the 6" IC-rated can from Home Depot.
The trick with positioning one of the clips below the ceiling worked very well. It put pressure on the can to push it to the side of the hole where the flange on the can could catch with the ceiling, and it provided some support to the ceiling as well. The alternative would have been to try to attach something to the flange on the can to make the flange bigger.

Thanks for taking the time to make the video. You should put a strain relief bushing on the romex wire coming into the electrical box.

pull the clips into can then push out to get all 4 legs/fingers to hold new can in place

So the new cans with the LEDs are setup to run on line voltage

You dont need to do all that just leave two wires that go to the bulb and remove ballast and wore those two wires left i to your power and wore to your led boom done reuse the box

Yeah, seems a waste to completely replace the existing can and junction box.

That a lot of unnecessary work. Keep the existing can and rewire by reusing the existing ballast wires for your hot and neutral. You can remove the ballast or cut the wires short and out of the way.
