      I guess you already have a good topic of horror game channel and really good sounding mic but maybe talk to the audience more like more personal talk and also you could cut to special moments or moments that you are just grinding. If there are moments where you are just walking around to find something, add some cuts and edits in it as well.
      Finally, stick to one game since you wanna build a core audience first that likes that game, which they will eventually grow to like you as a creator and they will begin to stick to whatever horror game you play. Diversifying more and more until your audience recognizes you as a personality and not some YT channel that's "just there." If you upload a lot of different horror games at the same time especially right now, YT algorithm gets kinda confused and so do a lot of people.
      One reason why popular people can already play different games is because the algorithm favors how they type the channel name in the search box. For instance, if i wanted to watch some CoryXKenshin, i would type "coryxkenshin" in the search box. Due to the fact that the term "coryxkenshin" is a very high volume keyword, and he uses it, he almost always gets ranked first in the search feed. And because he has grown such a large audience over the years by sticking to topics and not diversifying immediately, a lot of people search for his name. Not "FNAF lets play" but "coryxkenshin" because they want him to play, not others. So try to build a core audience first, then maybe people start searching your name and not the video game you are playing. That's when things start to get good.
      I analyze channels who seem to be struggling so that I can apply what I've learnt to my videos, and you should try this out too. Helps me a lot and I have now a better knowledge of how I should create content. So maybe try this a little bit.

      @@Kino-Imsureq I really appreciate you taking the time to write out such a lengthy in depth reply. I have noticed that I bounce from game to game a lot to the point where I don't think I've even finished a playthrough yet. Im still learning how to edit as well. One of the things Nick said in the video really stuck with me too about fitting RUclips in to my schedule. I have a full time job and kids so finding time is a chore in itself. Thanks for the advice. Im gonna definitely put some of that into practice.

    • @Kino-Imsureq
      @Kino-Imsureq 2 года назад +1

      @@drewkatz2516 oh yeah definitely understandable especially with a full time job and kids. But yeah just focus on one game and then when you finish that game completely then move on to something similar. Each game has an audience and you need some time for that audience to find you, so that you can bring that audience to future videos. If a train keeps switching terminals then no one rides it but if it stays there for a little while then it is fairly populated. Of course nothing can really represent a RUclips career metaphorically but for now i think that is good enough. Stay in 1 game then once you're finished, go to the next game, etc.
      Meanwhile yes i also have to put these stuff into practice. Especially my monotonous voice haha.

    Good advice Nick. One thing I'd add would be to establish relationships with other content creators in your niche.
    When I decided to start my #leadership channel I made sure I reached out to others in a similar position and now we have a community of around 15 that gets together regularly, bounces feedback off each other and talk about basically everything. We also keep ourselves going when motivation gets low. In short - it's been essential and highly motivating.

    • @Kino-Imsureq
      @Kino-Imsureq 2 года назад +3

      @@CoachCommerce In your most popular video "Mail Drop Box Sizes & Dimensions for FedEx, UPS, and USPS Post Office" you could've condensed all that information in 1 minute. Try not to say filler phrases like "alright guys," "so we're gonna," "lets go," "so," etc. Also maybe some music and you don't need to show us the process of measuring and then give an answer. Instead you can use that video footage of you measuring as B-Roll which goes alongside your voiceover of the measurements.
      I watched "How to VOID or Cancel a Shipping Label on eBay!" and the hook was alright and intro was very short so that's good. However in 0:17 and 0:42 you say "and in this video i'm gonna show you how" and "and im actually gonna go ahead and show you how to do that right now." This is redundant since it's pretty much the same idea what you said in the beginning "...then this is the video for you!" Value the viewers' time and if you see something that could be cut out without ruining the flow of ideas and information then you must cut it out. Especially when it's within the first minute of the video. That's like 7 seconds lost pretty much. And attention spans usually only handle 8 seconds (not statistical but its a good estimate).
      Throughout the rest of this video there are some phrases that were either dead obvious or you should've just cut out anyway since it's not really helping to solve the problem. This doesn't mean you should speed yourself up 2x and cut out random portions of your video but it also means that you have to practice the way you edit.
      Otherwise good job on 1k subs but now you must continue to work better and better. And it's good that you are keeping up with social engagements in your comment section too.
      I am analyzing many people's channels so that I know what is good and what is bad. You should probably dedicate a day or two as well to do this, its very fun and insightful and I have a lot of notes now.

    Keeping a journal of your progress (like a physical book you write in with a pen) is also an invaluable tip I found. Making full length videos that people want to watch all the way can be intimidating, a 10 minute video with some level of just basic editing can take a minimum of 48 hours to produce, even for a pro. So if you only have time to make "Shorts" just focus on that until you're comfortable enough to upload the real thing.

You are gentle and kind with your words, encouraging and inspiring people to keep going and not give up! Especially for older people like me who is not too tech or social media savy! 100% spot on!! Everything I watch even casually, I’m constantly analyzing their filming and editing techniques as I’m consuming… and my wife finally isn’t annoyed by it. Lol. (I’m Mascon Leather here on RUclips.)

    Omg. Plans are sooo hard. Honestly the plan for my RUclips is to make enjoyable videos for us to look back on later, and for the boys to be able to look back on their younger selves....Also anyone who is interested in farm life, maybe wants to have a life like this but can't...etc..... I can NOT express how much I regret not having started 5 years ago when we first moved to our farm. We have come so far...But I'm trying hard to make the best of what I have now!
    In addition to making enjoyable videos for us to look back on, of course getting monetized would be a huge bonus!! And I am trying for that as well;)

I have a question for your first point, I'm currently still in school so I'm very busy and barely have any free time, how do I make time? (I'm busy in weekends sometimes too) I would rlly appreciate if u answered my question! Thank you for all the help! 🖤✨

    My idea give RUclips five years . Not blowing up, shut it down. About to reach year six. Get frustrated, angry at times. Mad at people not subbing, sharing, watching. Half to remember when started did not expect even one sub. Started for fun nothing else. Sometimes easy to forget get caught up. Watching this channel about three years. Informative keep up the good work. You can do it!

    The big mistake I made that you mentioned Nick is the audience focus. In the beginning I made videos about a bunch of topics, then one topic took off and aI rant with it for a while. But now, I don't want to continue with that topic. Should I attempt to pivot or better to start a new channel. Appreciate your super helpful videos ✌️

    Nick, I’ve been subscribed and watching your videos for several months. This is the very best one for me at this time. I really needed it. I’ve had my channel now for a year and I’m at around 325 subs. I really thought I would be at 1000 in a year. I’ve posted a video almost every single week but I am at a crossroads of what to do next to be successful and reach more people that want to subscribe and watch my videos. I will be watching this video again and again and will also watch the playlist from the end screen link. The one thing that I have yet to do in the last year is to have somebody that has been successful on RUclips such as yourself that has done an actual audit of my channel. At this point, I’m open to anybody that would be able to help me by way of a zoom call or however where AI could share my screen and they could look at my analytics, thumbnails, titles, and give me specific ideas on what I’m doing wrong or what I should do or what I should stop doing. So Nick, if not you, do you have any recommendations of someone or a service that could help me?
