Lovely video again. Great of your parents to contribute to the channel. Gdansk is a wonderful place, and with Sopot down the road, is a great route to cycle for a day trip. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely lovely area, though whenever I think I’ve been there enough…I always find something new to see 😅
I really need to see Sopot from the nightlife perspective one day 😛

I was born in Gdansk and I think after travelling the world for 12 years and then living in the UK for the last 30 years I'm counting the months now to retire and move back to Gdansk which I left in 1980 during the civil war as a very young girl.it's incredible how beautiful my city is! I can't wait to move back there after 44 years

It truly is an amazing place, I’ve been several times and always find something new! There was a lot of construction going on this time…so I look forward to seeing it be even more beautiful on a future trip 😁

A few interesting facts about Gdańsk. Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit was born on May 24, 1686 in Gdańsk. The Scottish diaspora was a significant community in this city in the 16th - 17th centuries. There were several fencing schools in Gdańsk, and all hosted English theater troupes in the 17th century. The Gdańsk Shakespeare Theater was established in 2014. It's a reference to these old traditions. The honorary patron of the construction of the theater was Prince Charles (now King Charles III). The building was visited by Prince William with his wife. The building is interesting, but its colors are controversial. You see the photos.

      @britinpoland2392  Год назад +1

I tried to see Fahrenheit’s house but it was under renovation, it was cool to see the thermometer though 😊
With the theatre if we had more time I would have liked to have taken the tour…very interesting looking building 😅
Thank you for the extra facts, always good to know all this more in-depth 😁

Cool video 🤩 This video showcases the beauty of Gdansk and the importance of family communication. I love immersing myself 😍in high-quality videos that transport me to another place and time. Especially when your mom comments and describes, it makes sense to see a picture and feel her understanding feeling and vibes✨. Given the logic of your father, I bet subscribers receive a lot of info required to keep in mind.📌..Let's take a cue from this beautiful family and strive to communicate more openly and lovingly with our loved ones.☺

Hi, you visited Trójmiasto (Tri-city)! My part of Poland, love it and got homesick watching the film.
If I may give some advice for next time in Gdańsk, a vist at the European Centre of Solidarity in Gdansk is a must. That's the newest history of Poland, of general strikes, creation of Solidarity, martial law and overthrowing of communism. They have great exhibitions and the electronic guides which allow you to go at your own pace. Margaret Thatcher also get a mention... Well worth visiting.
You like to climb to the view points, so the visit at Bazylika Mariacka (St Mary's Basilica) is recommended; you can get to the top of the tower, a few (hundred) steps. That's right behind Dwór Artusa and Ratusz at the beginning of the film.
Jarmark Dominikański is great time to visit Gdańsk, whole Old Town is closed for traffic and chock-a-block with varius stands (gifts, food, artefacts) and many concerts.
Your father was talking about the old history of Gdańsk. National Museum in Gdańsk is one of the eldest in Poland. The history of Gdańsk is complicated; Hanseatic Free city, though many Germans speak of it as theirs.
Günther Grass (Nobel Literatura) was born in Gdańsk, there is a museum too (I haven't been there yet).
Sopot is fantastic to just walk around, so many old villas, cafes and restaurants with gardens, instant aura of holiday. If you can, go to a concert at Opera Leśna (music festival each year).
And the youngest of the cities, Gdynia, which will very soon have a hundred years anniversary. Hence modern and very clear layout of streets. Built after Poland regained independence after First World War. Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski is kind of a hero as he came with an idea of building a port in Gdynia (it was a fishing village before) as "Polish window to the sea". You've been at Kamienna Góra park/viewpoint. At the bottom of it, close behind the theatre, is the Naval Museum (Muzeum Marynarki Wojennej). There is a connection with Cowes, Isle of Wight there.
Concerning the cost of food, you've been in the restaurants on the main tourists streets (recommend to go a little away), and that's the price to pay. ;)
So many beautiful places to visit in Poland. Thank you for this film. ❤🇵🇱Tricity
    Best regards from Hampshire 🇬🇧

@@JoannaPolka actually this was just the experience my parents had of Gdansk, I have been many times…I did make a video of the Solidarity museum, the church viewpoint and the world war 2 museum…though I am planning to do a new series of films about Gdansk likely next year to cover everything 😊
Including specific videos on Sopot and Gdynia, just a few days ago I released my video on Łeba which is not too far away 😁

A restaurant with a small brewery, it was quite common before the war, Polish gastronomy and culinary traditions were killed by communism. This is reborn after many years, including regional cuisines.
