this is the most unprecedented, in depth explanation of this engine's mechanical function and is of the highest quality possible. love how theres no words to it. stunning/brilliant
Dont forget, whenever you disassemble the cam , install the service bolt before you remove the cam , otherwise it will knock and you'll never find out why
The reason is because when the cam is going down on the intake or exhaust ramp, the cam will try to speed up and slow down causing a chatter .there is a spring inside the cam gear sproket that cushions this vibration. I didn't know this and it was causing a knocking noise that I couldn't find. I finally found out why
GREAT VIDEO, BUT I NEED HELP! I'M REPLACING HEAD GASKETS WITH ENGINE IN CAR. I LINED UP THE CRANK GEAR AND BOTH CAM TIMING GEARS CORRECTLY. I FOUND THE FRONT (RIGHT BANK INTAKE AND EXHAUST CAM GEAR TIMING MARKS, AND THEY WERE PERFECTLY ALIGNED. THE TOYOTA MANUAL STATED THAT THERE SHOULD BE A DOUBLE DOT ON EACH OF THE REAR (LEFT BANK) CAM AND DRIVEN GEAR. MINE ONLY HAS 1X EACH JUST LIKE THE FRONT HEAD. PLUS THE MARKS WERE NOT LINED UP. THEY WERE 5 TEETH OFF ON EACH GEAR. IF ROTATED THEY WOULD LINE UP THOUGH. DID I SCREW UP? AM I CRAZY? PLEASE REPLY WITH ANY HELP. THANK YOU.
Damm good engine, my 96 Camry has over 400K miles on it, still runs good, however after adjusting valve clearances a couple of times over the years, it has a ticking due to wear on the valve train. My question is :would NEW caps on the valve tips help take up some of the excess clearance? Thinking if I replace them with new ones maybe the new ones would be slightly thicker and help with the ticking? Any help would be greatly appreciated 😉
I have a toyota camry grande 3.0L v6 2000, 1MZFE engine, when it is turned on for the first time when it is warmed up in the morning, the engine sounds a rough sound what is the cause and what parts need to be repaired, please explain, if there is a video the same case

Wow not only is this the car engine I own that I need to fix, but this song is really good, if you turn it up you can you can hear how dynamic it is.

Thanks for the tip. Do you know why this is?
DO both cams need service bolts?

@@johnszoke586 Thank you. I'm in the process of putting left heads back on. Service bolts will be removed then 180 degree turn on both, right?
