The Japanese have been making swords for Millenia, they are masters of metal. From modern G- 10 knife- steel, all the way back to feudal Japan when Samurai swords were made of "folded- over" laminated steels like the forged Tamahagane steel of the past. True Samurai Swords are made of some of the finest steel known to mankind. It is very satisfying to see this tradition being kept alive by these great blacksmiths, they are all true artisans of the trade and deserve the highest honor and respect for their knowledge. All the best and much respect from your Pacific neighbor California.
There is no doubt that Japanese craftsmen are the most important in the world in this regard in dealing with steel and knives, and my question is what is the green solution in which the knives are placed while working on them, and thank you
If I had to guess, it's probably anti-rust.. like car radiator fluid.
@@netnoob77 Thank you, is it possible to use radiator fluid in this work and be successful?
@@user-lk2nh1wb9c Why not? It's just anti-rust. They are used in our car radiators so that the water won't cause the steel doesn't rust. Same principle here since they are dealing with carbon steel knives that rust easily.

木の砥石(木だから石ではないが😅)を使うのは初めて見ました。
昔々散髪屋さんが皮のベルトみたいなのでカミソリなどをシュッシュッってしてたのが
分かるのは年寄りだけかな？（笑）
革ベルトを使用してエッジを修正し、切断面に沿って欠陥をはじき飛ばしました。:)
