Good evening! FYI, my Wife and I were recently in Panama for a relocation tour. We stayed at the Sortis based off of the review and information that you provided in this video. The Sortis was excellent. We ate at the Calliope the first night of our hotel stay and the food was off the hook! Great video. Thanks for the information. Much appreciated!
Hey BigWill, I wish you had posted this very useful video a few days ago. I just booked my trip down to Panama 3 days ago and would have saved money and based on your comment and video I would have been very happy with the Sortis! BTW coming down from Maryland (PG)!
My wife and I just got back from Panama City and we stayed at both the JW Marriott and the Waldorf Astoria…the JW has better amenities and probably the best pool I’ve ever seen on planet earth! We ate dinner at Calliope in the Sortis hotel and it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten!
This video saved me. The hotel that I planned on staying in for October is fully booked. I made reservations at the Sortis which is a much better hotel. Thanks Homie! Who would have thought that the cheapest on the list would be the best? I can't wait!
Hey Big will appreciate your reviews my wife and I are flying in june 27 and because of your review decided to stay at the Sortis. Were coming down for a week to look around the Coronado area as well as a few other places and would love to chop it up with you to get some advice on relocating to Panama
I stayed at the Hilton Panama during my visit there last September and really enjoyed my stay there. Fabulous views from the lobby. Great pool, dining options and, oh yeas they had a casino too.
Omg! This is so refreshing! I’m gearing up to move to Panama - I’ll be visiting for a years before it’s final. This video was great! Any pros and cons for women traveling with children? Thank you
@bigwil TV - I’m in Panama and went with your recommendation of the Sortis hotel. I love it!!!! I’m looking for real estate while I’m here. If you or your lovely wife could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi BigWill! You clearly understand about technology and I was hoping you could give me some guidance. I’m moving to Panama next month but want to keep my US phone number for business & family calls. Black Jack & Google voice seem to be options. I’m not in a contract and have an older, unlocked Apple phone. Then in country I’ll get an inexpensive phone and Panama number. Your advice would be appreciated. Thank you and happy Friday!
Get a dual SIM card phone. You can have both your American number and a Panamanian number on one phone. You will need to buy it in Panama so it's unlocked. If you get it in the States your Panamanian SIM won't work.
Thank you for this great review! I love Panama City! I recently spent 7 days at the Waldorf Astoria in their room with the largest terrace on the 9th floor; one of my best hotel stays ever! Gonna have to try out Sortis next! Yep, I’m a hotel snob.😎 Do you have recommendations for Mexico City?
@@GoExplorePanamá Stayed at the Hilton Mexico City Reforma 6/23-28; great accommodations, amazing hotel room views and close to major sightseeing, museums, restaurants, etc. in the city center.
The most upscale area in Mexico City is Polanco, the Beverly Hills of Mexico. We stayed at a Boutique Hotel called The Wild Oscar and I got the best room, which had a large Balcony. Great although definitely pricier than Panama.
Absolutely fabulous spot. Outside th budget for most of my viewers but you can't go wrong there. About to feature this resort in my next neighborhood video on Coste del Este. Stay tuned. Releasing it this week.
Repeat offender here...Just my thoughts...on #5, i like the colors in the bedroom, I agree bathroom was "ok" not great. I'm not feeling that buffet with everyone grabbing the same utensils. I have not been to a buffet since COVID, so call me scared, but I can't get with that. #4I have stayed there before in 2015. It was cool to see the updates they made since then. I agree with your ratings. I love that you mentioned they serve you at the buffet. I remember the food being really good at the Intercontinental. I'm sure I will stay there when I get to Panama permanently. I remember paying to park, which I assume has not changed. If you are an International Ambassador, the perks at this hotel were amazing. I was traveling quite a bit then, so I already had a membership (I think it was $200 a year, which included a free night stay and TONS of other perks). There was a free heavy app and cocktail party each night on a separate floor just for Ambassador members. You could make dinner out if that if you wanted. Not sure if they still do that. They used to have another property in Panama, Miramar. I think they sold that one, but as Ambassador members, you could visit that property and use the pool and common areas, which we did. It was beautiful. #3 Don't know anything about the W, but I'm looking forward to that one too at some point. #2 On your recommendation, I already booked a stay at the Waldorf Astoria when I visit in May. #1, you also.mentioned Sortis. I am a Marriot girl, so I know this will be next on my list to try when I come back for my permanent visa. Thanks so much for this video. Very helpful to those of us traveling soon. I do have a question...are the rates you show with the Pensionado discount or regular rack rates?
My first visit to PTY was last week, and I stayed at the Hampton by Hilton using points. 10K HH x 4 plus 5th night free, which equates to about $37/night for a relatively good hotel. I would not recommend this place paying cash, but for a points redemption it was one of the all time best values. The Japanese restaurant next door is very good.
@@kvom01 I totally agree, use only points at this location; I stayed there one night for 10k points; I got lucky though, I have diamond status with Hilton and they upgraded me to room 903 which was a fabulous two room suite with views.

We just ate at Calliope last Saturday and the food was to die for!
Great! looks like the fav, Sortis came in the lowest, dollar-wise... and I agree, it looks like the clear winner. thanks, you two!
From one hotel snob to another, GREAT review.
Gracias

@@GoExplorePanamá MD/PG is a unique place and I really enjoy it but right now i strongly believe a plan B is in order. Coming to take a look!

The JW is in a completely different price range so yeah...better amenities.

What's good big Will...I enjoyed Marriott Executive in Bel Alvista...until I stood at the RIU. Looking forward to staying at your recommendations
Superb review of the hotels! I think I’ll do Charlotte’s relocation tour - then do hotel stays at your #1 and #2 recommendations. Looking ahead!
Excellent plan!

Yes. It's a nice hotel. Not nearly as nice as these IMO.

Have you stayed in the Hard Rock Megapolis? I’m planning on traveling to Panama this summer and so many people have told me about it.
Not yet
Are those two big skyscrapers in the video incomplete still?
Great video, my brother. I was looking at the Santa Maria in Panama.

Hola! Do you recall if the Sortis tv took your fire stick in the room?
Yes
Do you have to wear mask there??
Luxurious hotels out of my white budget. You are a true SNOB, Brother
So why did you even watch a video about them?? 🤷🏾 Just stay in your lane & I'll stay in mine.
Have you ever stayed in Megapolis? If so how was it?
No I haven't
