It seems like borsalino used to be very poor, maybe he used to be someone who found his purpose being a man of the people, and optimistic but over the years became disillusioned with his job once he reallised what the marines job really is. He's been coasting along going through the motions since then, and hopefully luffy standing up to everyone no matter what to fight for freedom has inspired borsalino to quit the marines and go back to what he actually loves, being there for the people. His relaxed attitude is probably just a mask to hide the shame he feels for selling out.

That's true. In Sentomaryu's flashback they have been together for the longest Vegapunk and Kizaru to the point he even experimented with his laser beams. Kizaru, Bonney, Kuma, Vegapunk and Sentomaryu all danced to the drums of Liberation. It was not easy for Borsalino 😢 don't think if he will be the same after this
Kizaru started working for the marine at 26 and Luffy knew he was gonna be a pirate at 4. Why are so many confused he doesn't have conqeurors? He's not an anomaly, he's a regular guy. He's just a man between the MC and the head honchos

I think one piece Live Action if it continues only ended after marine ford wars and they set sail to fishmen island after 2 years time skip (imo ideally). At that point in time during sabaody archipelago and marine ford wars, kizaru action can be interpreted that its a casual yet menacing admiral borderlining goofy type with its pika-pika no mi. I really want adam sandler to play him (its my fancast)

In my opinion, One Piece is about the freedom of the desire (Haki - Ambition). If you want something hard enough and work hard enough you can do anything, even rewrite the laws of physics. The conflict in One Piece is the clash of ambitions of different actors in the story

Kizaru is a dutiful man. I don't think he agrees with everything about his job and usually tries to find loopholes and the bigger picture while also fulfilling his main duties as Admiral. I think he is conflicted about Sentoumaru siding with Vegapunk similarly to Garp and Ace how he's exacting justice upon the world. He has a bit of a sadistic side to doing his job, but I don't think he is trying to be a bad person outside of his responsibility.
But he is kind of getting dunked on Ngl knocked on the ground by luffy atleasts 3 times of course he’s in mental conflict but he’s still not doing much against gear 5
He's the one admiral I've always thought didn't really enjoy his job. This isn't to say he doesn't love to fight like the rest of them. I think he is doing his job because he agreed to do his job. Not because of any sense of justice.
Kizaru is the definition of work over personal life - he'll collapse sooner or later, I don't think he'll ever fight alongside Luffy - but he'll definitely protect his friends at some point. Borsalino and Fujitora are the only good admirals. We'll see what happens to Aokiji, but I don't think he suddenly became "evil".
Akainu's illustration of when he was a kid seems like he is a child soldier while Aokiji seems like that one nerdy thug kid, while Kizaru as a kid seemed like a scholar who liked to study this is why in some way he became friends with Vegapunk. And maybe even felt bad during the Ohara incident

There is more to this story yet to be told. Also Borsalino, his name, is modeled after the famous italian hat company. The most famous person ever to put Borsalino hats on the map, was Humphrey Bogart, who often played conflicted characters that ultimately chose good over evil. In fact, the hat Borsalino wore as a Vice Admiral, looks identical to the Bogart hat from the Borsalino line. Same color and design. People should watch Casablanca if they want a better understanding of this.
I think Akainu may try to defeat the world government and put the Marines on top. The moment he finds out his total justice was BS after the truth of the world is revealed I feel he will turn against the celestial dragons.

I was so convinced by the end of Egghead Borsalino was gonna leave the government and become a strawhat. I thought it would be a fun parallel to Blackbeard getting Kuzan on his crew, and it would mean the Strawhats had a crew member from all the different backgrounds of the world (Robin used to be in Baroque Works, Jinbe used to be a Warlord)
It really sucks seeing people online talking about "Oh Luffy and Sanji fighting against Kizaru doesnt show their strength because he's nerfed or holding back" like hes still going all out but he is in a conflict of interests situation.
What i find interesting is that the 3 admirals character design looks less cartoonish than the rest of the casts like their face look somewhat have more realistic style that sometimes it is rather jarring seeing them all together for the first time in a world where plenty of characters have exaggerated body traits.
Cool detail. Every time we see kizaru with a denden mushi it seems like he doesnt know how to use it but when sakazuki called him after the buster call on egghead he answered it easily
Kizaru’s somewhat sadistic treatment of Luffy in Marineford is now coming back to bite him. He’s now such a nuisance that the Gorosei- who are only slightly more competent, are seen as bigger threats in Luffy’s eyes. Kizaru will be lucky if he gets a better showing with Zoro or Sanji at this point
Kizaru was easily able to go against gear 4 luffy, that he had to go into gear 5 to stall him. The same luffy who in base form was able to clash with kaido. Pretty sure he's still stronger than zoro or sanji right now.

@@KingAshtrayYou’re definitely coping rn. Kizaru was matching Luffy at every turn, the only way Luffy could keep Kizaru down in both their fights was temporarily removing him from the battle field. That on top of Kizaru simply not caring to kill Luffy, and being too conflicted to work as efficiently as he could’ve, proves they Admirals are equivalent to Yonkos more often than not.
Post time skip Luffy skip has been overrated for quite a while now. Kaido is non stop fighting while luffy has to recharge eating foods. In an actual fight Luffy would get mopped every time, you know the type of fight that takes actual days which isn't a rare occurrence when you're at the top of the food chain. The only legit fight Luffy had was with Katakuri and even that was lucky he even managed to scraped by finding food.
I feel like Kizaru is either going to go the way of Aokiji or be ousted in favor of someone who is more dogmatic to the World Nobles like Ryokugyu. Similar to how Garp doesn't become an admiral cause he doesn't respect the Nobles. However still believes that the Marines are necessary. He has served his purpose and isn't necessary anymore. They need someone who will readily accept Imu.
With his ability he could've saved vegapunk so easily and nobody would've known. He had the heart to save luffy a random pirate he barely knows but not his best friend vegapunk
I think the long and short of it is, for whatever reason, being a marine *isn't* about Justice to Kizaru - *it's just a job.* He's not motivated by a desire to 'protect innocents' or 'crush evil'. There's a number of reasons he might be like that - maybe it's a coping mechanism, maybe he just really doesn't care and was in it for the money - but I don't think he was really emotionally invested in his duties until the egghead island arc, when he couldn't just ignore what he did.
Kizaru killing Vegapunk and not betraying the world government is Oda‘s biggest missed opportunity so far. Many fans had the ridiculous idea that Kizaru could become a member of the Strawhats and as insane as it sounds, i would have loved to see that.

I think Akainu may try to defeat the world government and put the Marines on top. The moment he finds out his total justice was BS after the truth of the world is revealed I feel he will turn against the celestial dragons.

I was so convinced by the end of Egghead Borsalino was gonna leave the government and become a strawhat. I thought it would be a fun parallel to Blackbeard getting Kuzan on his crew, and it would mean the Strawhats had a crew member from all the different backgrounds of the world (Robin used to be in Baroque Works, Jinbe used to be a Warlord)
Funny how he joined the marines with the light fruit. If I was a recruit and my class mate had that I’d quit.
It really sucks seeing people online talking about "Oh Luffy and Sanji fighting against Kizaru doesnt show their strength because he's nerfed or holding back" like hes still going all out but he is in a conflict of interests situation.

What i find interesting is that the 3 admirals character design looks less cartoonish than the rest of the casts like their face look somewhat have more realistic style that sometimes it is rather jarring seeing them all together for the first time in a world where plenty of characters have exaggerated body traits.
They are all inspired by real person, movie stars in particular

Kizaru’s somewhat sadistic treatment of Luffy in Marineford is now coming back to bite him. He’s now such a nuisance that the Gorosei- who are only slightly more competent, are seen as bigger threats in Luffy’s eyes. Kizaru will be lucky if he gets a better showing with Zoro or Sanji at this point
Kizaru was easily able to go against gear 4 luffy, that he had to go into gear 5 to stall him.
The same luffy who in base form was able to clash with kaido.
Pretty sure he's still stronger than zoro or sanji right now.
Kizaru did pretty well against Luffy. Besides, when Sanji confronted Kizaru, he was kicked away like a rag doll just from one casual light speed kick.

@@KingAshtrayYou’re definitely coping rn. Kizaru was matching Luffy at every turn, the only way Luffy could keep Kizaru down in both their fights was temporarily removing him from the battle field. That on top of Kizaru simply not caring to kill Luffy, and being too conflicted to work as efficiently as he could’ve, proves they Admirals are equivalent to Yonkos more often than not.
Post time skip Luffy skip has been overrated for quite a while now. Kaido is non stop fighting while luffy has to recharge eating foods. In an actual fight Luffy would get mopped every time, you know the type of fight that takes actual days which isn't a rare occurrence when you're at the top of the food chain. The only legit fight Luffy had was with Katakuri and even that was lucky he even managed to scraped by finding food.

I feel like Kizaru is either going to go the way of Aokiji or be ousted in favor of someone who is more dogmatic to the World Nobles like Ryokugyu. Similar to how Garp doesn't become an admiral cause he doesn't respect the Nobles. However still believes that the Marines are necessary. He has served his purpose and isn't necessary anymore. They need someone who will readily accept Imu.

I think the long and short of it is, for whatever reason, being a marine *isn't* about Justice to Kizaru - *it's just a job.* He's not motivated by a desire to 'protect innocents' or 'crush evil'. There's a number of reasons he might be like that - maybe it's a coping mechanism, maybe he just really doesn't care and was in it for the money - but I don't think he was really emotionally invested in his duties until the egghead island arc, when he couldn't just ignore what he did.

Kizaru killing Vegapunk and not betraying the world government is Oda‘s biggest missed opportunity so far. Many fans had the ridiculous idea that Kizaru could become a member of the Strawhats and as insane as it sounds, i would have loved to see that.
I think oda is saving this opportunity for the final war bc thats when most op character arcs arw going to end

I think Akainu would be sick of the corruption and cover ups, Fuji and Kizaru would follow the fleet admirals lead and rebel and Greenbull would still side with the celestial dragons and the world gov.
