I have found the best video ever!!!!! you have taught me something I've been trying to do since November of 2021! Thank you so very much! My project is now done! The tutorial was spot on. not to fast and slow enough to follow. A+++
Another outstanding start to finish tutorial. Thank you. It is BEAUTIFUL. Stay safe. Wishing you Tanner and the entire MGL team a super week. Hugs Susan
I fully understand your point about smooth wood surface. Of course I go against the grain in that I have a fence post I want to use. I was going to uses permanent vinyl and then seal it for outside use, what if I hold the heat press close to surface. Will the vinyl melt into the uneven surfaces? Thanks, love your program.
Never use an iron on or around adhesive vinyl. Only use an iron or EasyPress on HTV (Iron-On). If you're making anything for outside that will be exposed to the elements I recommend sealing your project as well :)
Great tutorial. I am looking forward to becoming a member. This video was a great selling point. Can't wait to see the great stuff I will get as a member.
Thanks for your kind words! You will LOVE the membership, and our best value yearly membership is ON SALE through Friday!! Simply select the yearly tier and enter in the coupon code "make" to get $20 OFF :) We hope you take advantage of this Easter Sale! www.makersgonnalearn.com/join/
Love this! I couldn't find the link for where you get the wooden circles... could you help me out? I'd love to find a great place to purchase them in bulk!
You can buy a bag of tshirt material at most hardware stores, especially if they sell paint. Another idea is use old Tshirts, or maybe something from a thrift store.
Good question! You cannot Iron-on a sealer, so if you sealed it, it would need to be after you Iron it on. However, unless it will be outside exposed to the elements, you really don't need to seal it :)
Can you do a tips and tricks for when you don’t have smooth wood and you want to use HTV? I just did a sign with rough wood and HTV and it was so difficult to complete. I really could have used some tips for rough wood because I bought a wood blank sign from Hobby Lobby that I couldn’t sand.
We do not recommend using a heat press when Ironing onto wood. It simply cannot get into the bowing and imperfections of wood like the Cricut EasyPress Mini: amzn.to/2zvjW9D can. We highly recommend it!
Hi I don’t have a cricut, just an inkjet printer and iron on transfers. So I applied the image to the wood using my small heat press at 3 lights. I find that the image looks like it can peel off the wood. Then I applied modge podge to help seal it as I wanna use them as coasters. Can you give me any tips.
Wow, wow , wow! Tanner thank you for this training. I learned to flip the font, such a game changer for me...so many times I didn’t use certain fonts, that I loved, but because one or two letters wouldn’t fit properly, who knew I could just flip the letter!😂
Thanks for the video. I was looking forward to trying this project, but it took several attempts to get the art and fonts and once they finally arrived, the font is not Happy Ever After as you state in the video. It's Happily Ever After, and it's very different from what you use. There is no fancy T and the lowercase h does not have a loop - just very plain. I searched on Happy Ever After and couldn't find it that way either.
I love this project and the video. However, I downloaded the cut file from makers gonna learn website and the font included is happily ever after(does not look the same as the one in this video) I found the correct font(happy ever after) on the website but, have to join your membership for that font. Which I can't really afford, so that was a bit disappointing for me.
We understand. However, we have so many amazing perks of membership and our files and fonts are just scratching the surface! We're also running a sale right now on our yearly membership! Join Makers Gonna Learn for $30 OFF using code "CRAFT" at checkout! : makersgonnalearn.com/join
The heat is what bonds the htv (iron-on vinyl aka heat transfer vinyl) to your surface so it is not really recommended to use htv without applying heat. If you don’t have a heat press, y our can often follow instruction to use a regular iron instead. Just be sure to not use steam setting! 😊
I seem to always have a problem with the glue and the htv not sticking to my wood even when I go over it then the glue starts to leak out and it looks bad.
Makers Gonna Learn once I found Inkscape I gave up on CDS. I make my own files, convert to png and only use CDS to cut. Your videos are showing me how far CDS has come and I’m excited
Love this project, but the font download for "home" was not Happy Ever After. What I got was Happily Ever After. It's definitely NOT the same and they are not interchangeable.
Hi Tanner! Love, love watch your tricks and your love for crafting. I was wondering if u would be able to teach us about pairing fonts. Thank you. Big kisses from Portugal & keep safe. 😘
Good question! We don't use it too often, but we almost always use it when we're ironing onto wood that we've stained pretty recently. Sometimes if the stain isn't 100% dry (which we don't recommend. Let your stain dry for several hours - we're just impatient!), you need a little more protection between the stain and the EasyPress :)
I would love to, ma'am! You'll simply click this link: www.makersgonnalearn.com/join/ , scroll down and click sign up on that Yearly best value membership. You'll then enter in your payment information, then check your email for confirmation moments later then you'll be able to start crafting and enjoying your membership the very same day! :) Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help!
I have the cricut maker. I am experiencing a change in the dimensions my design space shows and what actually cuts is much bigger than the exact dimensions shown on the space rulers. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.
If your design is 4" by 4" in the canvas, it 100% should cut that same image at 4" by 4". If that's not the case I would contact Cricut support and get some help troubleshooting your machine :)

good tip
Makers Gonna Learn thanks! I used to work at our local hardware store and my dad still does! I’m full of tips I’ve learned along the way!
Wow, I love those fonts, I do the same hack and make the background shape the same size of my project. Takes away a lot of guesswork
Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
Makers Gonna Learn it’s my pleasure! I’m learning so much!
So cool love this
thank you!
Could I seal the wood after staining? If so would I seal before or after ironing on the vinyl? Your videos are awesome!!

Weld can be undone on a desktop by using the back button
Weld can only be undone if it's the last thing you did in Design Space. Once you edit further you cannot undo it :)

Old holey socks work great
nice tip!
Love it but make a tutorial for Lear to make that bow it’s so pretty 🤩
Thank you! We will try to get a video on how to make bows!
Tried a similar project but the transfer smeared in some spots and didn't adhear in other section. Any idea what I did wrong?

Hi Tanner, Would Acrylilc paint on plywood work for HTV?
i am wondering the same thing
I love this!!!! How thick is the circle?
Thanks!!! They're 1/8" thick. Here's the link to them: amzn.to/2xU7NKp , we love these wood rounds!
Love this project ❤️
Thank you, Brenda! :)
can you use htv with acrylic paint?
Awesome! I like all your videos Tanner!!!i want to ask where did you get your glue gun..cant find the li k.. thank you so much.. newbie here
Here you go! This is our FAVORITE glue gun! :) Hot Glue Gun: amzn.to/35bf2u2
Ok so I’m new… can you use the heat transfer vinyl like regular vinyl? (Without heat) and just use the squeegee to adhere
The heat is what bonds the htv (iron-on vinyl aka heat transfer vinyl) to your surface so it is not really recommended to use htv without applying heat. If you don’t have a heat press, y our can often follow instruction to use a regular iron instead. Just be sure to not use steam setting! 😊
Where do i find the link for the wood you used,
Soooo cute💕💕
So glad you liked it!
I seem to always have a problem with the glue and the htv not sticking to my wood even when I go over it then the glue starts to leak out and it looks bad.
Holy...... I’ve never been able to figure out contouring?!
Contouring is amazingggggg!
Makers Gonna Learn once I found Inkscape I gave up on CDS. I make my own files, convert to png and only use CDS to cut. Your videos are showing me how far CDS has come and I’m excited
Please make a video just like this but with siser metal htv 🙏🙏
If we did, it would be the same process! :) Feel free to make it at home with any kind of HTV you'd like
Love this project, but the font download for "home" was not Happy Ever After. What I got was Happily Ever After. It's definitely NOT the same and they are not interchangeable.
Are the prints permanent?
Hi Tanner! Love, love watch your tricks and your love for crafting. I was wondering if u would be able to teach us about pairing fonts. Thank you. Big kisses from Portugal & keep safe. 😘
Thank you for watching! :)
Love this project but I absolutely cannot make a bow to save my life.
It's a hard skill to learn!!! We totally understand.
Where do I get the pin pen?
GRAB YOUR PIN PIN TOOL: bit.ly/2kamLFy
I am happily disgusted..... I cannot believe it was that easy! Loved this video... awesome
Haha! It's so fun! You'll be doing this all the time now!
Makers Gonna Learn yesss now to try it lolol
why do you need the teflon sheet?
Good question! We don't use it too often, but we almost always use it when we're ironing onto wood that we've stained pretty recently. Sometimes if the stain isn't 100% dry (which we don't recommend. Let your stain dry for several hours - we're just impatient!), you need a little more protection between the stain and the EasyPress :)
Could you please tell me how to join

Whats the color of the stain??
tanner mentions it in the first 5 mins of the video, Minwax Jacobean Stain: amzn.to/2VycToT

I guess i am late to the party...no more download for this project available, just one for stickers. What a bummer but great video!
The link is actually incorrect! We're working with our team to get that fixed! Sorry!
