James Taylor puts such a wonderful touch in every tune he sings & plays. Man, his music pulled me through moments of despair & added warmth to the great times too ! What a joy.

Taylor has lived thru the nightmares of depression and despair. He’s been down those roads and many others. The emotions and feelings he sings of are for him, very real. He is blessed with exceptional talent.

As North America, the 🌎 begins to come out of the darkness and strong hold of covid-19, 🇺🇸 and a few other countries are attempting to become creative as far as safety protocols and concerts go. I know May are left out of rescheduled concerts. Until my Canadian border opens up, live- streaming, and past performances we shall have to settle for here in 🇨🇦, and "ain't no use to sit and wonder why" nor "think twice about" what just is. We must pack a healthy dose of patience, respect for a process just now and a whole lot of thanks into our daily lives that we came out of this ordeal still intact So fortunate to tune up a James Taylor song or one he has covered. Feeling blessed.

Huge fan of Dylan and JT +have heard many singers try to cover Dylan that I wish I hadn't. NOT J.T. though
JT does Dylan proud here as well as echoing --paraphrasing what Leonard Cohen stated about Dylan being awarded The Nobel Prize: "Giving Dylan The Nobel Prize is like pinning a Gold Medal on Mount Everest for being the largest mountain".
Always amazing that James Taylor--an all time great himself--also looks to Dylan as a mountain...then corrects himself with a chuckle--a whole "cultural mountain range"!

    " Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right "
… It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If'n you don't know by now
And it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
    It'll never do somehow
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
    You're the reason I'm a-traveling on
But don't think twice, it's all right
    ___________________________
… And it ain't no use in turning on your light, babe
    That light I never knowed
And it ain't no use in turning on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
But I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
But we never did too much talking anyway
But don't think twice, it's all right
    _____________________________
… So it ain't no use in calling out my name, gal
    Like you never done before
And it ain't no use in calling out my name, gal
    I can't hear you anymore
I'm a-thinking and a-wonderin' walking down the road
    I once loved a woman, a child, I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right
    ______________________________
    … So long honey, babe
    Where I'm bound, I can't tell
Goodbye's too good a word, babe
So I'll just say, "Fare thee well"
    I ain't a-saying you treated me unkind
You could've done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right
    _______________________________
    Deusche Version
Also sage ich einfach: „Lebe wohl“

“Gone to Carolina in my Mind” - 1971 Fall in Chapel Hill JT played Carmichael Auditorium (then UNC’s basketball facility) - I got 2 tickets but my sister, a HS senior, adored James - so I gave girlfriend Patty one ticket & sister the other - an hour before showtime I snuck into Carmichael via adjacent Woolen Gym - a guy in the tunnel asked me why was I there? - I told him I was with the stage crew - unexpectedly he assigned me to carry some co-axle cable up to the spotlights - Minutes later I moved down to floor level and laid Patty & sis’s blanket front row - I put a song request list on the piano - the week before event Patty & Sis had a screen printed t-shirt made with “Sweet Baby James” on front (green field with yellow letters) - I took the wrapped shirt to the dressing room but was stopped so I asked security to deliver it - the outside doors opened and Patty & sis joined me at floor level - within 10 feet of JT’s virtuosity - he played his first set - took a brief intermission - then started playing again - after a few more songs Patty pokes me & points toward the entry way from dressing room - leaning against the wall wearing the t-shirt was Carly Simon! No shit! - can’t wait to return to Chapter Hill - Class of ‘74
